Can’t get enough of this VTuber. Keep up the marvels Gunther. I’m back after like about 3 years ago. I left out a lot of the hair styling videos i watch. I am glad to be a part of whatever it iz
Started my locs literally 2 weeks before you, so I'm watching your journey as I go through mine. My hair is as 4c as hair can be and I started with a bit longer hair than yours. I started with the two strand twist method. Keep up the good content!
Same I’m starting my two strand twist journey with locs, and I started before him so watching his journey will be cool especially since I started with short hair as well to Ima do a retwist at the end of the month
I used that gel before as a kid when I would go to barber shops it makes your hair very flaky and makes your scalp itch a lot and you have to scrub your scalp really hard in order to get all of it out I would definitely not recommend this gel for getting retwist or even starting your dreads
You can use tee tree oil or black castor oil to make it stop inching the same thing happened to me when I used Jamaican mango and lime locking gel resistance formula and it made my scalp SUPER inchy and the my scalp looked like snow it got so bad that I took them out. But I learned that if you oil your scalp it makes the inchiness go away but use good oil’s
I'm starting my freeform dreadhawk, no twisting just washing with cold water and letting my hair air dry and I'm not using any products/just letting my grow
Use jamaican mango and lime gel it works great, I even have a video on my channel where I crotchet hook my friends freeform dreads with jamaican mango and lime gel you can check it out to be sure if that’s the route you wanna go
Hey Gunther, youve probably seen Dadzlife channel. Itd be interesting to see you use rubber band method for your new set and have big locs (I have 20). Completely unique journey. 3-4 months for the loc to form and after that you can retwist like normal without rubber bands in literally 20 mins, so youd have much less maintenance and no need for gel
My son is growing his hair out- it’s about 4-5 inches long. I love this technique BUT his hair is POKER STRAIGHT!!! He is light skinned (mixed) he has no curl or wave to his hair at all!! He’s 16 and this is our 2nd go at this. 1st time we did 2 strand twist and didn’t work at all! I hope and pray u respond and can help us through this process. 🙏🏼 please respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much.
It must take a really long time for hair that straight to lock. I can't wait to see the budding, i'm interested in seeing the process on more straight hair up close.
@@hiddengem8138 "that straight" indicating straighter than usual hair for dreadlocks. "more straight" same indication. Is engllish not your first language?
Hes right. I have high top locs and I cut my own sides and maintain my own locs. Otherwise its paying both a barber and a loctician. I imagine I'm saving thousands.
Gunther I just started my starter locs I’m 3 week in damn near the same as you so we on the journey together I’m new to so you think you can post everytime you get a retwist?
Hey, check out Inkd up Goddess on youtube too, if you section the hair and rubber band at the root eventually it will loc. Just got to refresh once a month and you can wash your hair how you want as much as you want, sleep how you want, keep your hair from frizzing and can crochet needle to make the hair the right shape for you
Don’t clown me but will this work to help straight hair start curling ? Then using Cantu / Shea moisture, to keep them curled/ hold the curls for longer? - back story if you choose to read ( I’m black and Italian with straight hair father is dark skin with very curly hair mother is obv Italian(Caucasian) with very straight hair, I’ve got the mix of both, straight hair but the natural accruing oils, many African American females and males have told me I have great hair yet it’s straight, I don’t know why they seem to like the way my hair is and I’ve always wanted curly hair since I was young Thanks for reading all of it if you have, any information / help is greatly appreciated
Hey you prolly won’t read this but I wanted some questions on is it wrong for men to get yarn locs it’s just a question I wanted to know and if so how come
No disrespect nor did you ask or care about my opinion, but I would have a loctician or a broader redo your parting system to make it look cleaner and more uniform. But great video!
@@ogdede7477 same , well that’s what I hear from a lot of dread youtubers but your probably right since gel can do the same technically so it probably would be a better option, but I do water and oil retwist so I guess it depends on what he wants for the retwist but I agree a stronger hold would help more lowkey
I bet ten bucks he’s going to crochet his dreads in a month
No he’s trying to do the traditional method🤦🏽♂️
Bet
Will see
Then he will retwist it 100 times a day
twenty bucks he gets rid of them by June

I like Gunther da great but don’t get your hopes up too high. He changes his mind a lot. Probably will but probably won’t keep this set of locs.
@@Paws4thecause yeah he prob gon keep it for a month after they loc up do a couple if styles and combing them out but aye he does run a hair channel
wow those look super clean, love the vids gunther :)
I've had my locks for over twenty years. You can see your journey is those locs give them a chance before you cut them again.
I need your help with starting locs because I like how your locs grow.
I just took out my hair and I’m about to start my dreads with you. I’ve been waiting on you so I can start my dreads
How many times have you had dreadlocks? 😂 Seems like 20
He’s had them like 3 other times so he knows a lot about them
There are like 5, the first one, the freeform, fingercoils, instant dreads and these

This video makes me mad excited to start my journey, just cut off my last set about 3 1/2 months ago 😂
tip: use hot air (not way too hot) to make the gel hold really good
Bro you look really good at this length and style of hair👍🏼
I coincidently cut my hair the same time you did, and now i'm just going along with your progress lmao dreads are looking nice bro!
Mans got every hair in the book can’t cap bro like ur vids
I like these locks the most I also liked when he had the curls

I'm going to retwist my freeform dreads and should I use Tropical roots gel or Jamaican mango and lime gel???? @Gunther da great and @Comment section
personally Jamaican and lime gel also are you going to be sectioning your free forms or just get the gel and twist?

You should crochet them see what they look like :)
Gunther, are you going to interlock are are they going to lock themselves?
Has ever done a video on his filming setup?
I think it looks better just the way you had it before the dreadlocks
Personally I wouldn’t use gel, but that’s just because I’m terrified of buildup 🥶😬
Get gel that doesn't build up...
Alo Vera works like a charm

Hey Gunther I was waiting for a new vid 👍.
Are you actually going to keep the dreads
It’s been 2 weeks I think he will
I going to get my hair professionally loced soon then my moms going to maintain them.
My hair is straight and getting it wet helps it loc up
nice
has to tighten the loc with the hair 3a / 3b

you should interlock the roots
I watch the hole video, who else did to🔥?
Can you tell me how to do dreadlocks I have a 1A hair type. Please
The mic picks up everything 😅
You should do Deandre Hopkins dreads
Also to try rubber band method on your hair type would look more like a guy like Paradise Jones on youtube
If y'all want to see my dreadlock journey just like all my videos I promise

Gunther how long did you leave the clips in btw or how long would you suggest to leave in the clips for a retwist
Until they are dry
In my journey I left them in over night and took them out in the morning but it's a personal choice
Should I get dreads if my top is thinning?

how much do you wash your hair cause i just got mine done and i don’t wanna wash them and they unravel
