I went up Hwy 38 to Big Bear on Saturday (One day before this footage) and the fire was looking close and ugly to the north of 38. Got back to LA from 18 on Sunday night and actually fire to me was looking growing much bigger and worse. also getting really closer to the southern side of Boulder Bay area of Big Bear Lake west.
I hope firefighters can do something about it on this day 25 and/or ask for more help. Mother nature is not helpful on these days of the year and seems hotter local temperatures are forecast for the upcoming dates with no chance of rain.
Prey and keep your fingers crossed for something good to happen and save our beautiful forest. Meanwhile THANK YOU FIREFIGHTERS and the brave Fire First line defenders.

Just off the highway on the side opposite the arboretum, you can see where crews cut fire breaks to keep the fire on the downhill side. It helped save the arb and everything beyond it.

So thankful that the firefighters are doing what they do to save people, property, homes/structures, our towns, and our wildlands. It cannot be stated enough what an incredible job these men and women do. Without their efforts, our beautiful mountain areas would have been completely devastated long ago. We salute each and every one of these courageous professionals out on the fire lines!

You can still see all that phos-chek on the side from the drops a few weeks ago.

So the huge fire now allegedly started with ignited rolling debris starting a larger fire downslope ?

@@trevin1691 I'm not sure, I'll have to do a bit of research.
