John thanks man. You too brother John. Wasn’t speeding and some think. Wasn’t even going to speed limit because the vehicles in front of me were going slower however, I probably would’ve been going faster because I wanted to see how fast I could get up.
I'm just interested in your videos and your well being bro. You're such a good dude bro. I'm saving my money to visit Big Bear. My old stomping grounds.
And it was just over 10 minutes for me today but remember I started about 45 seconds further up at the welcome to the San Bernardino National, Forest San and I was stuck behind cars that weren’t going nearly the speed limit, and I still made it in about 10 minutes. It was amazing. Usually, I remember it takes me about 11 or 12 minutes to get up or down. Pretty cool
I’ll tell you what I’ll give you the directions right here on the response if that’s OK? If you’re coming from the San Bernardino side and Los Angeles side of the mountain range, you’re gonna want to get to the 15 freeway and take that towards Barstow You go through the Cajon Pass. Maybe about 10 miles once you’ve gone through the Cajon Pass, you’ll come up to a road called Bear Valley Rd. Take that exit and make a right hand turn. And take about 20 minutes to the very end and the very end you come to Highway 18 you’re gonna make a right hand turn on Highway 18 and from that point it’s only maybe another 15 minutes or 20 minutes until you get to the part of the road where Highway 18 makes a right hand turn you want to stay on Highway 18 towards Big Bear and you’ll be on your way. It’s super super simple. Again, highway 15 exit Bear Valley Rd. make a right hand turn take Bear Valley Rd. all the way to the dead ends at Highway 18 take a right hand turn and stay on 18 and follow the signs because 18 makes a turn and you don’t want to miss that turn and you’ll get to Big Bear
Takes more than 10 minutes, unless you are driving dangerously fast! Plus, you are driving up from pretty much nothing. Almost empty desert. If you count the time driving from Victorville or Hesperia, it's much longer. The road from Redlands is the prettiest way, and well worth the extra mountain miles. I recommend it for anyone heading up for the first time. IMO.
It’s very subjective my friend but thanks for your opinion and no I wasn’t going any faster than the speed limit. Can you see I was driving behind slow people complaining about slow drivers the whole time what video are you watching? I do like front way much. But it’s personal preference. I’ve been driving that front way down to hell all the time. It’s nice driving to the desert
Nikk apple valley is my stomping ground. Go this way every time I go to big bear. I HAVE NEVER MADE IT UPI THE MOUNTAIN THAT QUICK! Lol! You drive to fast! 😉
My friend won a dog I wasn’t even going to speed limit never exceed the speed limit at all. The cars in front of me were going to slow, and I still made it up in that amount of time so either people are driving in reverse, trying to get up there because it takes them so long but I don’t know why people think I’m going so fast lol.
Hi its me someone am back with a moon profile I finished all my homework for the week when you told me so that way I have nothing to do well now am in mexico where is around 80 degrees unlike long Beach so that was a change
Wow Rex. I wish I did. I wish I did. I asked a couple of the RUclips Friend to send me stuff. I did get a couple pictures of Redlands on the other side of the mountain with snow, but I didn’t get anything of the desert.
My good friend Eddie sorry it took so long to get back to you these past couple days. I’ve been inundated with some seriously personal stuff and usually it takes me no time to get back to you so please forgive me. OK so my mom is 81 years old and I worry dearly about her whenever she drives up here I always sent her on Highway 38 especially if it’s during the winter season it’s a little bit longer of a drive however there are nearly as many spots where you can fall off thousands of feet Sometimes it’s a roll of the dice because Highway 38 gets you all the way up to 8443 feet at onyx Summit however, when you reach onyx Summit it’s in one of the least snowy parts of the mountain range but since you are at a very high elevation, sometimes they get hammered But again, it’s got much straighter roads. Of course there’s plenty of turns, but not nearly as much as the other roads and it’s definitely longer but again this is what I send my 81-year-old mom when she wants to visit when I can’t pick her up in the winter time. So therefore, I would suggest Highway 38. Now, if you’re lucky enough to live in the desert, then clearly Highway 18 coming up through Lucerne Valley would be your best route. That’s always gonna be the best route in terms of the ease of the drive, but not a lot of people are willing to drive through the Cajon pass, and all the way around the mountain range to get there. Get back to me Eddie and let me know if this answered your question. Well enough I want you to be safe. I love you guys with all my heart you guys are very special to me.
What happened to the Holcomb creek video? I saw it the other day and wanted to see it but I haven’t had the time and now I can’t find it. I’m a FedEx driver up there and almost went down it on accident when I first started up there so I was curious on how the road was back there
What’s up there my friend? I’m gonna be making it public again soon, but I just had to make sure that I wasn’t gonna get in any trouble because there weren’t any signs saying the roads are closed but a couple of the people on the channel told me that they’re fining people $5000 for going up there. So I just wanted to play it safe because unfortunately dude there’s haters out there who don’t like to see other people succeed at all and so they’ll try to report me and do whatever they can so I had to make the video private but next week I’ll be going even deeper because a friend of mine has his permit through the forestry service And he has the keys to all the gates so he’s gonna open up some of the gates for him myself and we’re gonna go where no one’s allowed to go and it’s gonna be pretty awesome 2N10 will be part of it
Yeah it’s best to play it safe. Cool I’ll have to keep an eye out for it when it’s public again. The other guy up there with me delivers to you all the time and he was asking if I saw it yet or not. Keep up the good work man 🤟🏽
Hi, I’ve been up to big bear before once. I believe this is the road I took. I’m wanting to travel up to big bear again but this time looking to take my travel trailer with me. Any recommendations on the best/easiest route to get there? I’ll be driving from Bakersfield ca.
Hey Caesar, I apologize that I didn’t see this comment, bro if you go through other comments on any of my other videos, I respond to every single person so I feel really bad that I didn’t see this sooner but hopefully it’s not too late for the response If you’re taking your travel trailer, the best way to get up here is going to be Highway 38. It’s easier with not as many turns it’s a bit longer but right now because of the fires it’s gonna be closed for a month so you’re gonna have to take Highway 18 from San Bernardino, which is actually called Waterman Avenue I believe or Waterman Boulevard something like that but it’s definitely Waterman and Waterman turns into Highway 18 and you’ll stay on that until you get into Big Bear because Highway 330 is closed as well as Highway 38 but that’ll be safe for you I think you’ll have no problems getting up here and if you do respond to this comment, I will not be notified if you want to respond and have more questions. Leave me a brand new comment on any video, my bro, and , it shouldn’t slip through the cracks again. I’m usually really good about finding the ones that do but I wanna make sure you get here safe safe and sound and again I really do apologize about not seeing this sooner. Have a great weekend, brother Caesar
Hey, yes, as a matter fact, Andrew, one of my favorite restaurants in the area is down there called café 247. It’s sometimes a biker joint and they have live music. It’s really great.
Conrad that is correct my friend, but believe it or not a lot of the storms they actually will have the checkpoint right below the switch back because a lot of the storms the snow doesn’t make it all the way down to the Mitsubishi plant but I’ve actually driven through a chain checkpoint, right where you’re suggesting it all depends on the snow level
I’ll be driving this for the first time ever for me in the next few days thanks for the tips. How much longer do you think the mountain will stay open for ski season?
Hey Jonathan, there’s only a few parts of that road which can be a little stressful but in these conditions you’ll be completely fine there’s a part of the road where there are three switchbacks in a row, but you should be able to get up there from the Mitsubishi plant at the bottom to the top within 10 minutes I’ve heard Bear Mountain is staying open a couple more days and I’ve heard snow summit is staying open till the end of the month but you might want to contact them just to double verify. Be safe dude.
Thanks man! I did the drive last Thursday and it was crazy on 18 there was so much fog I couldn’t see 10 feet in front of me. I think I was driving through the clouds. Then when I got to big bear lake it was nothing but blue sky’s and so beautiful. It was my first time up there and already can’t wait to go back. Even in the wet snow conditions on Bear mountain I had one of the best days ever. My day of playing hooky hehe (or however that’s spelled) peace dude!

Is this the route that doesn’t have the steep drop offs - I can’t drive by steep drops - Crater Lake in Oregon was BRUTAL- that was my first experience with that fear - then Blue Ridge Mountain highway in North Carolina - just won’t do it again- do you know where Jackie & Shadow are in Big Bear Lake
Denise I know where those eagles are. Approximately they are in the Fawnskin part of town. I am very thankful. I pointed out in a lot of my videos when I’m driving by, but because I have so many videos, I would never ask you to try and find it. And yes, this is the last and least windy road with the least amount of drop offs compared to the others. If I didn’t answer your question properly, please get back to me Denise.
Denise. However going this route in most cases people have to drive around the mountain range to get to this road. It can add a couple hours to your trip.

That’s a great question. Absolutely yes you can you just have to take highway 247 I believe until you get to Highway 18 but yes, this is the way way up to the mountains from Lucerne Valley Apple Valley, Yucca Valley and it’s technically the fastest way up.
Hey Jada. That is a really good question so this might be a long answer. I hope that’s OK. Wow Rex. I wish I did. I wish I did. I asked a couple of the RUclips Friend to send me stuff. I did get a couple pictures of Redlands on the other side of the mountain with snow, but I didn’t get anything of the desert.
Hey going down to see my dad grew up around there looking for a spot to stay!
Been there, drove this.
Happy Easter! Nikk!
Hey Nikkolas! what do you suggest is the safest route up to big bear during snow conditions?
My good friend Eddie sorry it took so long to get back to you these past couple days. I’ve been inundated with some seriously personal stuff and usually it takes me no time to get back to you so please forgive me.
OK so my mom is 81 years old and I worry dearly about her whenever she drives up here I always sent her on Highway 38 especially if it’s during the winter season it’s a little bit longer of a drive however there are nearly as many spots where you can fall off thousands of feet
Sometimes it’s a roll of the dice because Highway 38 gets you all the way up to 8443 feet at onyx Summit however, when you reach onyx Summit it’s in one of the least snowy parts of the mountain range but since you are at a very high elevation, sometimes they get hammered
But again, it’s got much straighter roads.
Keep up the good work man 🤟🏽
@@NVSKATERD4L thanks dude. And I’m here to help bro. Just hit me up whenever you need bro.
Hi, I’ve been up to big bear before once. I believe this is the road I took. I’m wanting to travel up to big bear again but this time looking to take my travel trailer with me. Any recommendations on the best/easiest route to get there? I’ll be driving from Bakersfield ca.
Hey Caesar, I apologize that I didn’t see this comment, bro if you go through other comments on any of my other videos, I respond to every single person so I feel really bad that I didn’t see this sooner but hopefully it’s not too late for the response
If you’re taking your travel trailer, the best way to get up here is going to be Highway 38.
Have you ever taken the 247 through lucerne??
Hey, yes, as a matter fact, Andrew, one of my favorite restaurants in the area is down there called café 247. It’s sometimes a biker joint and they have live music. It’s really great.
The cement plant to your starting point is a common place to stop and put on chains when required, right?
@@j.vfilm99
Jonathan, my brother, I am so happy to hear that. I am so happy to hear you had a wonderful time up here.
Then, my goodness it gets so foggy driving down. We are lucky where we are located because the marine layer never really gets to us.
I really hope you’re having a great day. It’s healthy to play hooky once in a while. I can tell just by your message that you are a responsible person and I’m just really happy you had a great time my brother Jonathan.
I hope you get back up here sooner than later
What's up nick! Are you glasses prescription? I like the frame. Happy Easter!!!
Thank you I think it’s because I live at sea level west coast of Florida - will look for your other videos - very enjoyable- do you have any on Palm Springs
@@deniselanglois6193 I do not have any Palm Springs vids. It’s not far from me. I’m always worried to make content that is not Big Bear.
On my other channel called

Can you get this route from Yucca Valley???
That’s a great question. Absolutely yes you can you just have to take highway 247 I believe until you get to Highway 18 but yes, this is the way way up to the mountains from Lucerne Valley Apple Valley, Yucca Valley and it’s technically the fastest way up.
Hi, how do you record driving footage without shaking? Thanks!
Hey Jada. That is a really good question so this might be a long answer. I hope that’s OK.
I’ve purchased and some of you guys have purchased for me some camera holders, but I usually use my iPhone to RECORD📹 because the picture is so much better unfortunately because the iPhones are a little bit heavy even if I spent a small fortune on a good cell phone holder for the car, it was never good enough to avoid severe shaking so this is not gonna sound good it’s really not gonna sound good at all but I actually hold the camera the whole time and my arm has become such a good gimbal lol overtime I’ve been doing this for almost 9 straight years, but as I said, I’ve tried every other method possible but I’ve become so accustomed to just holding the camera
Anyway, I really appreciate the question Jada and I hope you’re having a fantastic evening. Thank you very much for being here and I’m always here to answer questions and communicate with my friends.
@@bigbearweatherandmore6621 thank you so much for the thorough answer I really appreciate it!! Yeah I've also found holding the camera produces the best results so far too 😅
@@jadasakurawatches jada you are welcome. I thought you were going to be giving me some guff about holding my camera so I’m glad we are on the same page. Lol. But yes, it’s really strange how holding the camera I am able to keep it a lot more stable than you would think lol.
I hope you have a great rest of your evening
If you 3 putted a lot and shot what 89?...your hitting it good, just need to play more and the putting will get good again. I'm a 2 putt king.
Putting is half of the game and yes, I hit my fairways and greens in regulation pretty regularly but for some reason I just have always struggled on the greens and I had many second shots within 15 feet of the pin, and still three putted
Putting is half of par so for you to be able to live up to that you’re doing really damn good
Oh I feel sad for you, no more snow.
Don't they still have a course in B.B
Yes, but it’s completely under snow
@@bigbearweatherandmore6621 oh ya I kinda forgot about that . I used to play win I lived in O.C but it's been years ago.
