    WARNING: if you have poor case airflow or can tell the inside of your case gets really hot, don't set the TREFI timing more then 35000-40000.
    It is EXTREMELY temperature sensitive, and can cause random shutdowns or restarts despite your ram seeming stable!
    In this video mine was 50000, I tried max it out at 65000 and noticed the random shutdown after a day...I did the research and lone behold here I am! Just had to let you guys know so you don't have the same issue!

      For those of us who know nothing of OC'ing or anything but just physically building the system: How do we figure out the reason the pc is shutting down or BSOD'ing is RAM or temp related? Is there a win11 log tool or 3rd party we can use to figure this out?

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      @@Golyem not that I know off...the easiest way to troubleshoot issues is to test all hardware before software.
      First step is replugging absolutely everything in.
      If you don't have an integrated gpu in your cpu, your next steps is to swap to a spare gpu of any kind, and retry to boot to rule out gpu. If you have integrated gpu, plug hdmi into motherboard and try boot.
      If your motherboard has some little lights on it with writing next to them, it can even tell you what the issue with booting is. It depends what motherboard you have.

    Welp, I spent the whole day gaming. About 5 hours of Warzone and 4 hours of MSFS 2020. Not a single crash or issue. Running rock solid with big time performance boost. I kept tref at 40000 as you recommended and is solid so far. Really didn’t think fine tuning my Gskill Trident Neo 32GB CL30 6000 would get any better from the already Expo profile. Boy was I wrong. Also, I ran Memtest86 for 4 passes which lasted about 4 hours and passed with no errors. Thanks again so much for this. Keep us updated with any new tweaks

      That's perfect to hear! I'm also rock solid at 40000 rn, and it's definitely worth doing a custom tune even on expo kits! Beauty of this tune is that it'll work for 99% of 6000mhz cl38 or below kits, and worst case scenerio setting a timing or 2 higher gets it to full stability, so def worth it over stock given the gains 🙌👍

      Also 2133 with 6200mhz is really good. I'm considering giving that a try but I'll have to adjust the timings if so, and indeed it might affect the undervolt when hitting such a High FCLK + frequency on ram, but who knows, we can only test xD

    If You set CPPC to CACHE the cpu will always prefer 3DV Cache, which is good for gaming but worst for other task (productivity) where the frequency is more important; ok that you only do gaming, but that is almost olalways not true (every user do other things, occasionally) but, most of all, with cache and frequency you will basically always use only HALF of your CPU.
    the correct setting is DRIVER, then be sure to have windows and AMD drivers set according to AMD indication and the CPU will use the correct CCD, according to what you’re doing… JZtwoCents did a very clear video, recentely, about this……

    Why do you recommend 1.4 for the ram voltage.
    Thats not what was recommend for this.
    Works fine with the recommended 1.36
    This timings are tested for hynix btw
    Prefere cache, doesn't it mean all processes will prefere cache?
    Means all shit will run on the ccd where you want your games running.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      1.4v is because not all kits are equal, and these timings are For Hynix M die and above, Essentially 95% of ddr5 6000+ mhz kits. If I gave everyone 1.36v and the fully tightened hynix M die timings (which can get tighter) a lot of people would have issues with running it, so I gave them a voltage that'll work on basically all 6000 32gb kits, and timings that'll work on any M die and above, and a lot of samsung kits.
      Also yes, prefer cache doesn't guarantee it'll run on cache, that's where I recommend you either consider running lasso and AMD intended setup...
      And yes, all shit NEEDS to run on ccd where your games are or you'll see a hefty performance penalty. If both CCD's are being heavily used by 2 more intense tasks ull lose performance.

      Are you on Windows 10 or 11? On 11, as long as everything is updated(chipset drivers, bios, etc.) It automatically puts your games on CCD0. I've never had to change anything from older titles to the newer ones. If you do, just mark it as a game in gamebar, and then it will run off CCD0. You don't need to go to extremes like you did when the cpu dropped. Most of it has been sorted. I'm getting the same performance as this guy without undervolting or changing ram timings.

      I haven't tested 1080p due to cpu being the bottleneck at 1440p meaning at 1080p gains would be really small over 1440p. I can check since it's easy to switch to 1080p and compare.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      @@Emp3ror I have a very overkill cooling solution and as a result temps are lowered by quiet a bit. My idle temps are around 38-42 within OCCT.
      The temps are unfortunately normal unless you are at 60+c at idle, and most people with anything other then a 360mm aio and great thermal paste will have issues maximizing performance of the cpu.
      Even with 6 high end fans on the 360mm AIO, and the best thermal paste I could find (Noctua NT-H2) I still can't lock 5.25ghz in CPU bound scenerio's such as AL Mazrah In Warzone 2 due to requiring about 5 degrees less of heat to do that lol.
      Best solution if you have high temps is make sure your TJ max is 89c, and your fan curve on cpu cooler is aggressive. Given you already bought your cooler and thermal paste, try make the most of what you have.
      They probably will release a bios/chipset update soon because Derbauer recently damaged his 7950x3d with voltage, causing some concerns, meaning AMD may actually try do something about it indirectly. We will see.
      As an example, I run 60% fan speed at 50 degrees, 70% at 60 degrees. This cpu def takes a bit too cool despite only using like 90 watts in gaming xD

    I am not having any luck with Curve Optimizer. Even something significantly higher than your settings is unstable. 1 hour of ycruncher was perfect but then it crashed in Premiere and basic windows stuff. Shame, cause I had a -30 all core 24/7 stable 7600X before this.
    I have a Noctua D15 and I am thermally limited. The chip hits 89C really fast regardless of settings.

      They won't translate 1:1 to a 64GB kit unless you have an extremely good 64GB kit or just get lucky.
      I've had a guy tell me the timings worked on his 64GB kit, but my assumption is the guy had gotten lucky and picked up a Hynix A die kit as a lot of manufacturers are changing all their 6000mhz M die kits to Hynix A die, which is the die capable of 7000mhz + or CL28 and below...it's just a lottery on if yours is A die or M die, but if you are having trouble with timings, it's probably an M die kit.
      M die kits are fine with the timings when it's 32GB of ram, that can be seen by the fact I have a 32GB M die kit myself...but I assume 64GB of M die is too much for memory's controller or Motherboard to sustain.

    Question, I’m using your RAM timings on my Gskill Trident Neo 6000 CL30 which is 30-38-38-96. In your timings, you are using 30-38-38-30 which I’m currently using and have not had any crashes or issues. I tried to use 96 and found no difference in performance. But should I keep it at 96 since it’s the stock number? I believe buildzoid stated to leave these figures same as what they came as but now seeing that using 30 doesn’t hurt it, I’m kinda stuck and what to use. Thanks so much for the quick replies

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      The primary timings make a very small difference in performance, but if you are stable at a lower individual timing, use it. The point of tight timings is so they all separately add up to less latency. The lower they all are together the less overall latency there is.

    How do you determine that that you can only get -25 on two cores? Seems like that would take quite a few tests

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      It would. I tested until last week and my final setup is -30 on first 4 cores and -10 on last 4 cores of 3D v cache ccd. Its essentially trial and error until you get something stable. I got the idea to do -30 on first 4 cores as that means 8 threads will be faster then the other 8 threads, and if you set your render worker count in Mw2 to 7 or 8 threads, itll always use those fastest cores. Now i know its at its max, because -30 on first 4 and -10 on last 4 is perfectly stable, but if I change any of the last 4 cores to -15 instead of -10, I get a restart within 30 minutes.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      I have yes. Significantly improved undervolt, and process lasso is now being used, undervolt improvement making most significant difference, of about 3 degrees celsius of less heat. So -30 first 4 cores, -10 core 5, -20 last 3 cores. Core 5 is my fastest Core but also needs more voltage to run stable, so I can't go higher then -10 on it, that way other cores can be undervolted more separately and maintain perfect stability.

    I am looking at building a PC with the 7800x3d and quite concerned about CPU temps as I know it can affect boost clocks. So with an undervolt and a 360mm AIO you're reaching about 70 in Warzone 2. What about a full on stress test what temperatures does that reach?

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      I upgraded cooling solutions since, so it wouldnt be representative of this test anymore, now I run 63c instead of what used to be 68c. but the upgrade consisted of changing my main 3 fans to better ones, buying an extra 3 slim fans to make it a push pull configuration (6 fans on a 360mm radiator) and changing thermal paste to Noctua NT H2. That isnt realistic as a cooling solution for most people though, but the hottest I ever saw it get in a game was 85C with my previous basic 360mm aio with 3 fans set to pull configuration (this is within a different cpu bottlenecked game, not warzone)
