Great video I was never able to do the same with my system with 4 sticks of Kingston Fury Beast, and according to Actually Hardcore Overclocking you should not populate all 4 modules of RAM in DDR5 since each stick allegedly has already a dual channel internally so when you try to use all the 4 of them you are forcing the RAM controller on the CPU! I have a 7900x3d I have been running 4 sticks on at 6000 30-38-38-30 since about a week after it came out. Using the same board and ram. I found going straight to 6000 did not work but walking in in from 5600 to 5800 to 6000 would get it to a stable state. EDIT I have M die
I used close to the same timings, I did adjust some for stability. Usually was passing various benchmark tests but would find the occasional crash in some games which seemed to go away when timings relaxed. Mind you I was not doing in depth analysis and it was highly subjective. Another interesting thing I noticed was there is an impact on cache latency upwards of 10% improvement with with more relaxed timings. I went from a 11.7-11.8 ns on L3 down to 10.7 ns. It may seem minor but I noticed a big bump on speedway with the improved latency. So there is probably some magic ratio that exists, that if one took the time document and test various settings, but the question becomes if it becomes worthwhile beyond the challenge itself. @@magno5157
I tried using the EXPO RAM-boost 5600/6000 settings after building my PC recently & it slowed boot/restart time to disturbing slows (~3 minutes or so), but it did work. So, I set it back at no EXPO & regular stock 4800mhz speeds & it boots/restarts normally again. I'm using 4x16GB (64GB) of Kingston Fury Beast 4800/6000 DDR5 with an MSI B650 Edge Wifi MB. I originally planned to do 2x16GB in my build, but the two empty memory slots bugged me for some reason, so I ordered another 2x16GB of the exact same RAM. 😆 Not like it really matters I guess, since I'm not running my PC to participate in benchmarking e-sport games & there is no need to overclock anything in my system for high/ultra-quality 1440p gaming.

My RAM doesnt have EXPO because in my mobo support page, RAM compatipility list. Most of the one with EXPO didn't officially by default had the 2 or 4 DIMM socket support. Among the few there were some ADATA that had 2/4 plus XMP and EXPO. But they were out of stock at the time. Pity cause I really liked their design. Went with G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB kit, non NEO so they have XMP only. 6400 CL32. Finger cross that when I do add the other kit in the future. They all work fine. I'll be happy to get them all 4 at 6000 at least.
I attempted to apply the same parameters as in your video but it was unsuccessful. My configuration is 7950x on Aorus x670e Xtreme, BIOS ver is F30. My 4 sticks DDR5 are also GSkill Trident Z5 Neo Expo just like yours but they are 4x32GB. With 2 DIMMS, it can easily reach 6000MT/s with EXPO enabled, however, when 4 DIMMS are installed, the speed is limited to 3600MT/s only by default. Could you please tell me what to do for my case?
Attempted this with exact settings on 7950x, Asrock Steel legend 670e, and gskill trident z 4x32. Can’t even get above 3600. 5200 will shut off on the reboot and default back to 3600. 4800 puts it in an endless memory training mode and I have to clear the cmos.
Great video, thanks for sharing all of your troubleshooting! Do you notice any performance difference outside of scenarios that make use of the higher capacity?
Careful with cleaning your PC with compressed air. It has liquid inside it that is one of the lead causes of fried GPUs lol just a heads up. Sick build though. 3:27
Hello - did you consider getting a single 4 x 16gb kit vs dual 2 x16gb kits? Most of the time when you want to overclock higher amounts of memory - generally it's better to have a single kit with 4 matching ram modules. Overclocking upto 32gb's of memory with 2 seperate kits should be ok. I have always liked to get a single kit with all matching modules.
Hello. they updated the bios again on the 16th to F11C and got rid of F11B all together, I actually have this mobo and a 7900X like you originally had in your video but I haven't put mine together yet and watching you're videos is scaring the hell out of me with all these memory issues. I starting at the top of the mobo list with the highest speed and went down the list following the exact memory numbers until I found one that I could actually purchase and it was 5600 speed Kingston 2x32gb and I think I'm going to have problems with that much memory in training. Also if you could give me any tips on keeping the CPU cool as I've seen you have done? Thanks for another great video!
Hi Great video. I see you are using CL30 sticks. I have CL36 Kingston 32GB (2x16GB) KF560C36BBEAK2/32 Fury Beast CLXX 6000MHz DDR5 RAM RGB. Will this work with those as well? Confirmed Hynix A-DIE. Ryzen 7950X. ASRock X670E Steel Legend Mobo (latest bios). Any help would be much appreciated.
Interesting video. I have the same RAM as you but at 6400. At stock settings for 4x16GB sticks performance is horrible, only beating my sons 4 year old i5 by a few points.) I am tinkering with expo and speeds to see if I can get the Passmark score higher. Hmmm. Please do a Passmark video, and or post the results if you will. :-) *** Update. I just got the 4 sticks to work at 6000 Mhz, giving a Passmark score 3996 of top 98 percent. I am hoping that two 32GB sticks can do as good or better without overclocking.

Hi, I own 3 Gigabyte X670E xtremes all equipped with 7950X3D's my memory of choice is 64 GB 6000Mhz @ 30-36-36-76 1.4v I also run a 7700x on an ASRock X670E Steel Legend. Just one thing to point out YCruncher = good test., Memtest86 ... Nope would not trust the results. Go with Kahu and Memtest5 if you really want to test your memory properly,, my memory initially passed testing with memtest86 but kahu and memtest5 made it error out, those tests should be run for 24 hours, if you pass those - that is a stable overclock. You have the right idea - just not the most reliable tools to achieve it, I am personally about to attempt to run up two kits of Corsair CMH64GX5M2B6000C30 which are 30-36-36-76@1.4 6000Mhz on my system running F22B, odds are it wont pass testing with kahu and memtest 5, if it does I know its stable for daily drives, if not then its time to start work.
Please let me know how it goes I have the same setup, the parameters from the video seem to make the system boot but failing the tests on memtest and y-chruncher. Games do seem to be working fine but failing tests is the risk of system corruption with bad ram OC settings.
Just built a 7950x3d, and bought the GSKill 2 x 16 at CL 28. I am very experienced with overclocking on Intel, but this is my first AMD build. I really want to buy two more sticks since you can't get these in 2 x 32gb sticks, but I'm really concerned I wont get them to work at speed on my Asus x670e Crosshair Hero. Nice to see im not the only one with freaking AM5 problems. I have to say its pretty bad that the mobo dosent have the lights to tell u if u have problems with cpu or ram. GJ
Officially with 4 sticks Amd support only drr5 3600mhz and 5200 with two stick the rest is lottery
Thank you for this, However I have just managed to get all 4 Corsair Vengeance DDR5 at 6000mhz to work on my 7950X with Expo 1 enabled. So far no issues. I'm not sure if this is due to the latest Bios update for the Gigabyte X670 Master E Gaming though.
Great video. I'm very new to PC Build (Last build is Pentium). Is system memory multiplier related to Gear 1 / Gear 2 ?
I have a 7900x3d I have been running 4 sticks on at 6000 30-38-38-30 since about a week after it came out. Using the same board and ram. I found going straight to 6000 did not work but walking in in from 5600 to 5800 to 6000 would get it to a stable state. EDIT I have M die
Nice!!!!
Did you also use the same Buildzoid timings?
After hours of messing with the bios I decided to give Ryzen master a try just like I did with my 5950x setup. I have my Corsair vengeance 64GB ram running 6600mhz currently and is stable. About to try 6800

Wow! 6000 @ 30 is nice work!
Hell yes! Thank you
Also how's the gaming performance?
Attempted this with exact settings on 7950x, Asrock Steel legend 670e, and gskill trident z 4x32. Can’t even get above 3600. 5200 will shut off on the reboot and default back to 3600. 4800 puts it in an endless memory training mode and I have to clear the cmos.
Great video, thanks for sharing all of your troubleshooting! Do you notice any performance difference outside of scenarios that make use of the higher capacity?
Not really 1% lows tend to be better
now thats an improvement in my book, inreasing 1% lows in cs2 is a great thing@@WiLcreatives
On daisy chain RAM topology it's better to populate only 2 memory slots (A2+B2).
2x32GB DDR5 is a lot more stable than 4x16GB.
Careful with cleaning your PC with compressed air. It has liquid inside it that is one of the lead causes of fried GPUs lol just a heads up. Sick build though. 3:27
Excellent video, and thank you for posting.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I ended up trading my sticks in for 2x32 GB Kit. Guess I didn't hit the silicon lottery.
Was a fun learning curve though.
Appreciate the wisdom, my brother! I'm rebuilding my system tomorrow going from 5800x3d AM4 to 7950x3d on the MSI MEG x670e Ace. Do you play Star Citizen?

@WiLcreatives Is it still stable? have you had any issues with it since?

I ended up purchasing 2 x 32gb at CL30, but after seeing your video I'm considering buying more CL 28 sticks to see if I can get it working.

Just keep the two you've got in. It's not going to work with all four, and it definitely won't work with different speeds or timings, for sure.
Just remember with a new bios you loose the saved bios settings

I was curious about this too! Really curious what the difference was before/after, which is really the determining factor. Bootable is one thing, but fully stable is another.
