WOW! Your p.Metallica is a bolty one! My pokies have been so chill. I recently movies my vitatta from the AMAC to the Adult one and she strolled out so calm. I was nervous since I was just putting the amac positioned to the exo tera. This of course might change at some point. My p.metallica (Blue) is averse to light but usually takes a moment to retreat into a dark spot. It is also ALWAYS on the glass. (My p.sp "lowland" always in the dirt curtain fortress. Only seen it out a few times)
You are a lot of fun to watch and we have learned from you. We are new owners of a T Vagans as of a few months ago. Got her as a sling and she's doing well. We also have a grass spider and now a triangulate cob. Thanks for your videos.

Hi.Exottera terraiums have iron mesh, your T. can stuck a leg on mesh. It hapens to my T and she lost a leg ... You can change mesh with acrylic sheets.

The bag rehousing is very interesting and I think I am going to try it when I have to rehouse one of my H macs. Well. .. For science that's why. Great video Kat!
I've heard of the bag method but this is the first time I've actually seen it done. There's another variation on that. Since your cage had air holes and cork bark glued to the sides, I'd slowly submerge the cage in cold water. This gives the T 2 choices, cold wet feet or going up into the bag on it's own. When I rehoused my pokies and my H pulchripes, I can attest to them REALLY not liking cold feet. I used the moat method in the bathtub. Since the water would enter slowly, the T shouldn't get to perturbed. That's definitely how I'm going to do a feather leg or H mac if I go that route. Sadly enough, one of my P striata molted but had no fangs. My C versicolor ate a cricket, became unable to climb the glass and then passed away. That's 2 open cages. The others are doing fine, no indication of illness. I suspect those crickets might've had something wrong but can't prove it.
A week late, but... I'm sorry for your losses. I hope it was just a sad coincidence with the two, and that the rest of your fuzzy friends will be just fine, with no bad-cricket outcomes. Sounds like they're in good hands, though!

Looking at my P. metallica.... looking over at the exact same exoterra... Option B is a Tarantula cribs enclosure I just got in the mail.. Loving this video.. And wondering if the Tarantula Cribs not having access through top (front door only) is a bad idea. When transferring these supersonic T's... I generally stick to the cardboard divider method.. one solid divider, one with a hole in it. slide one out the other in when in place.
I have a P Regalis who I named Lighning because I thought she would be really fast but she is surprisingly not bolty at all. For a poke, she is actually really calm. Which is weird but I ain't complaining.
I just let mine run and then catch with a catch cup. After you rehouse 20 or 30 you get used to it. Have you tried the hollow cork tubes? Pokies seem to love them more.
This is actually how I caught my first jumping spider with the Ziploc bag, I had to lure her out of the top of a Mercedes with a cricket in a bag 😂 good times!
Thoughts on tarsi getting stuck on the mesh at the top of the enclosure? Before I go tearing out the top.. and replace with plexi glass... is it actually necessary on these enclosures?
So can't wait for my three new arrivals from fear not tarantulas' only have one pokie now which is the Indian ornamental. Waiting on the arrival of my P Metallica my Singapore Blue in my Trinidad Chevron
i had purple tree tarantula jump out of it enclosure i thought i never go see again as went down hole in wooden floor but on christmas morning got l baby locaust live food kept in mesh butterfly cage use feed my slings as movr age got side glimps it baby purple tree tarantuala was hungry but so glad got him or her back
Have you tried quieting your mind and reaching out with the force to make a connection with another creature? I dont understand either, but thats what the holodramas taught me

You can replace the mesh if you’re not comfortable using it. I never have but a lot of people do
