One of our Chihuahuas tries to catch flies whenever they get close to him. He basically never succeeds but the one time he did he just looked really shocked and disgusted and spat out the fly again haha

My first sling was also a c versicolor. He (Nigel) became a mature male in Feb 2022. When he stopped being able to climb because his paws started getting worn down, I put shelf padding -the kind you use to cushion glassware (from Walmart) on the walls and ceiling and he has been able to climb to his little hearts content.

I'd had jumping spiders for a bit when I came across a picture online of an adult Caribena Versicolor.
It was that pic that inspired me to start researching them, then that led onto learning about other Tarantula genus & species.
Now I have 32 tarantulas..i just love them.
Enjoy your beautiful blue Versi 😊 xx

I think my C. versicolor looks roughly the same size as yours did when it was smaller. Mine just molted and the difference (especially in the vividness of it's electric blues) is amazing. I don't think it doubled in size...but its close! Pretty much the same story with my G. pluchripes. it already has the golden leg marks (or at least the first signs of it).
And the one amazing thing about T's is that they molt their entire body all at once. why can't my beardies do that? lol.

I absolutely love the tortoiseshell glasses you're wearing on your outing.. They look so good on you. I just can't help it looking how tiny you are. I just want to take you home and feed you. You feed all of your tarantulas so well but I'm wondering if you feed yourself as well as you do them? And I'm not being rude, I'm a Jewish mother and it just comes naturally. You are just so adorable and fun to watch and I'm surprised you don't have 1.5 million viewers because you're just a really great person and you know what you're talking about and that's always entertaining to watch. I have learned so much about tarantulas watching your videos so thank you for what you do.

Kat...the superworm got away from the White Knee. I think it came out of its shell & it definitely went into the substrate under the water dish!!!! I had one get away from me today too, but luckily it came back up at some point & I saw it in my Ts mouth. The commenters on Arachnaboards said it is dangerous for a superworm to remain in the enclosure bc the puepae & beetle the superworm turns into can eat/kill a freshly molted tarantula & that the superworm should be removed from the enclosure. I just wanted to let you know what I saw. Great video 💙 💜 💙 💜

Yay T. albo update! I figured they would have both done equally well in the Tarantula Cribs and Kritter Keeper enclosures, but it was good to see them again! Tarantulas Cribs are definitely my favorite enclosures when I can budget for them, but I keep the majority of my 2.5"+ juvenile and adult tarantulas in Lee's Herp Haven enclosures (which are just Kritter Keepers with snazzy green, brown, and black tops) since they're super affordable, look reasonably nice, and have fantastic ventilation. I like Medium size for juveniles and the XL for adults that don't get super huge. I know a lotta folks rag on Kritter Keepers, but in my experience they're pretty darn great budget friendly enclosures for species that aren't too moisture dependant =)

I’ve decided to take the plunge and adopt a beautiful, 13 month old A. calcodes. Would a large tarantula crib be overkill? I know it will grow to need that size anyway. Also which substrate do you recommend? Thanks so much for all the information you provide everyone here. You are truly remarkable.
