These Ex-Army trailers make a excellent budget camper trailer option, and you can build them up over time. I might do more modifications to the trailer in the future but I’m looking to keep it simple for now.

The roof top tent is exactly the same as KINGS QUICKY POP TOP Tent available from 4WD super centre. If you’re after this style of tent some times they can be found on eBay under “Roof top tents”.

We used to touch em up with rattlecans while I was in. No masking or prep just shake and spray. Keep up the good vids mate

Looks great mate well done! If you end up putting storage or a lid on the tub please post a video about that. I've cut a tailgate into mine for a slide out kitchen, planning the next stage now.

Hi and thanks for sharing your ideas. I am just contemplating the set-up for my Brit. Army-Trailers. GKN Sankey NT ( narrow track, drum brakes), 3/4 ton payload. Reynolds Boughton WT (wide track), same payload, disc brakes. ( An Arrow WT is still waiting for refurbishing and registration). I like your approach to keep it simple. Weld a rig for the tent and then off for the trip. Unfortunately, whether in Europe is very rainy ... Heinz

I recon sell these for $2500 with a hitch plate and those three bars... would save a lot of people from learning how to weld, just to tow it home 😂
Brilliant. Exactly what I want to build. Any stability issues caused by higher centre of gravity or when towing in windy conditions?
If I was to make it again I’d lower the rack by 100mm but other then that it’s awesome!

Hey mate, if you can buy one already with rego it’s a massive plus. If not make sure it has I.D. numbers on the front of it might make it easier to rego.
Join the number 5 trailer group on fb, those guys helped me out a lot with rego for mine.

Hey Phil, she tows really well but it is bouncy so it needs more weight and I might mount some shocks to it 👍🏼
Mate..... I've been hell bent in past few weeks of doing this. What auction location did you get it from? Stoked for you. Trying to pick one up myself. I know you said hiccups with rego, but not too bad?
I bought it from a guy at singleton, look up military trailer on eBay listings for Facebook market place there are few on there. Link to auction is in the description.
I’d also suggest joining no. 5 army trailer group on fb for help.
