This song reminds me so much with my girlfriend who's my wife now. I was fresh out of rehab but my wife at the time was still using and it was hard, really hard. But fortunately we both got it together and were happily married for 4 years and both have over 6 years clean and sober.

if you look at it, this was during the beginning stages of the de-evolution of music. Even early 2000's was just destructive to music in general. I can't understand how people will listen to linkin park especially as emotionally destructive as they are to the psyche but don't even know who tool, hootie and the blowfish are. and think that matchbox 20 - how far we've come is a terrible song.

It's about addiction and codependency, he wrote it about a fictional girl but he's really singing about himself and how his alcoholism ruined his relationships

***** Enrique Iglesias is the last of what I call the old guard of the music industry
they have the power to sell albums. So the Powers that be let them make the music they want. Now the newcomers don't have that option IMO you have a good voice and you look cute sing this.If they don't want to then F***off there a 100 more like you in the next room waiting for a chance at fame and they will do ANYTHING for that chance. Imo there are few musicians these days but there are a lot of entertainers.Oh and do you know that Enrique dad the Great Julio Iglesias wrote some of his music aswell.

deadmoon3436 Its about alcoholism and drug abuse and how a friend/Boyfriend is watching his "girlfriend" destroy her life and how he's powerless to stop her.Music like this can only come from personal experience IMO that's why this song is so powerful.

how is it depressing. He's exposing how he put himself through a destructive relationship. it's more informative and educational than it is depressing. kinda like "Push - Matchbox 20", if you listen closely and dissect the song it tells you this is a bad idea.
