I am actually wearing these curls in bed right now. So I watched the original video a couple weeks ago and the purpose of the reverse curl was not to avoid the part in the back. She tried this technique to try to make them more comfortable to sleep on. I rarely ever do robe curls because they make it hard for me to sleep and I toss and turn all night. But the reverse curl method is so much better. I barely notice them. The reason she's able to do avoid the middle part is because of the zig zag part instead of a straight one. Works with both methods to blend the curls in the back.
I am actually super grateful you bent over to show what you're doing from that angle. They look SUPER HARD, but to see how your fingers hold the hair pieces, while maneuvering the robe and the other side of hair, was like a light bulb going off for me. ♥ I just started doing these last night, and I loved how they came out, but I wasn't able to cross method like this. I just did a twist :) anyway, thank you for making this! You're sons adorable!
I love the reverse curls. It gives me a more consistent curl, and it's easier to sleep on. But both ways are good. This was a little harder at first but now I can do it pretty fast. Love them!
Just found your videos and am so happy I did! I'm on the hunt for more healthy ways to style my hair after thirty years of cheap processing products, heat damage, and thyroid malfunction - and your techniques are going to help me stick to my goal of being kind to my locks! Thank you!
I also saw the original one and thought it was genius but also looks hard to do. I love your take at it, maybe I'll find the courage to try it myself ❤
I'm so glad you tried this method! They came out great on your hair and the back of your head is even curlier than the regular way! I have to try it and see if my hair would hold it with moose...
Hi, I think if you used some fancy ribbon, or a long, one inch wide peice of lace/ embrodroided cotton/silk/velvet ribbon, you would have a beautiful victorian look going on. It looked so nice, up. Your little boy is a cutie! Love from England ❤
I saw the original video and was waiting to see if you’d try it! I’m definitely gonna give this a try because I don’t sleep as comfortably with the other robe curls.
i still havent been able to do the reverse method but the robe curls are a game changer! i get so confused when my head is upside down and can't tell what part of my hair i'm picking up lol. gonna keep practising!
i absolutely love this lainey! i love how it works for all types of hair. just been out for dinner and now ready for some beautiful curls for the morning tomorrow. thanks so much lainey and i agree with the person who commented that your makeup looks so lovely and natural have an amazing week ❤️
I tried the initial video with the robe curls and I cannot get it. I’m not talented at hair, make up fashion.I pull it to much towards the front and the back is loose. I’m going to try this, I’m not giving up!
LOVE all your demos! I have superfine hair. Would you please consider doing a video on toppers or something else that would help me get the same results as you? Thanks😊
Oh wow! Really like how the back is curled, too. SOO pretty. ❤ Going to have to try this method for sure. I’m sure there’s a learning curve, but that’s okay.
Lol we must be on the same wavelength. I love your method but am a very sensitive light sleeper so last week I tried doing the robe method upside down. That way it was thinner on my head and didn't get thick until the top of my head. Looked like a total dork but had nice waves and was able to sleep comfortably.
Yes! I didn't even feel it when I was sleeping. Very comfy!! My husband is used to me looking a mess before I go to sleep. Lol. Thank you for the comment!
So I tried it on 2nd day hair, but only left it in for 5 hours. Still got curls, but not as dramatic. But, I washed my hair, had some setting cream in it, & left it in for about 14 hours. WOW I had curls!!! Sooo pretty.
Very beautifu, but as you were doing the curls the only thing i was thinking about was my neck pain after 😂😂😂 Hugs and kisses to you and to your wonderful family from Greece ❤❤❤
Super beautiful and I love the look but for me, my hair is so straight it never lasts more than an hour or 2. Do you have any recommendations for super straight hair?
A few things you can do! Try wetting your hair before. Not a lot. Just enough so your hair isn’t completely dry. Also, try adding a styling cream or mousse. The longer your curls can stay in your hair, the better! I usually leave mine in 10 hours or so. (I put them in around 9pm-10pm and take them out around the same time in the AM ❤Do you ever use hair spray? That could help too. My hair is very straight but robe curls always work well for me! They do loosen but it’s usually not until the very end of the day!
Thank you 😊I can’t think of a specific product off the top of my head. Any styling cream should do. You can try a mousse too but make sure it’s not a mousse that will make your hair crunchy. Lots of good brands like Aveda, redken, Kenra, Amika, IGK, etc that have great products! Maybe try dampening your hair a tiny bit before wrapping too. Also try using a hair spray after you unwrap your curls ❤
I hope it works well for her! Leggings sound too thick for her hair. Try a robe tie. If a robe tie doesnt work well, then try something thinner like a scarf!
Can you please do a video on how to do a heatless rope curl like not the one that is in this video if that makes sense. So can you please do another one of that for me please?
I've only tried the side ones so far and though I can do them ok and love the curls they give I am a side sleeper and I find them so uncomfortable and painful to sleep in on the side of my head. I'm so gutted because I love my hair curly but it really really hurts me to the point that I can't sleep and or have terrible headache in the morning.
@@LaineyMarieBeauty Tried a robe tie, a scarf, a long sock, they all hurt. I need to train myself to sleep on my back lol but I cough if I do that. Nevermind I do heatless curls just from below the chin down and it looks ok, not as nice as the robe curls but better than straight x

Oh good to know! Thank you for clarifying! I'm glad they worked for you too!💗

Liking the 3-way hair wrap you came up with to address the straight portion in the back.
Thank you! I like that one too and it works great! ❤
argggghhhhhh I love this sooo much!!! You are my big sister who's teaching me how to be girly and I love y'all!
🥺I never had anyone teach me these things growing up, so I’m so happy I’m able to now teach others ❤thank you, thank you!!
That is gorgeous. Your hair is beautiful. Did look a little tricky but I'm sure over time it will get easier.
Definitely!!! The outcome is worth it!
Your heatless curls videos are my fav!! Also you are so beautiful 🤩
You’re too sweet! Thank you!! I love me some heatless curls as well 😊❤
I absolutely love how the curls turned out!!!! You make it look so easy!
Thank you 🥺❤️
I also saw the original one and thought it was genius but also looks hard to do. I love your take at it, maybe I'll find the courage to try it myself ❤
It’s worth a shot!! You never know if you can do it until you try! ❤

I hope it holds for you! My curls last all day and into the 2nd day. By the end of the 2nd day they were gone, but I''ll take it! I hope you love!

Love it! Going to try this tonight!
Let me know what you think!!
I saw the original video and was waiting to see if you’d try it! I’m definitely gonna give this a try because I don’t sleep as comfortably with the other robe curls.
I hope it helps!!! ❤😊
I love your heatless curls videos so maybe those will be amazing to do! I would love to see you do twists or even little braids as well

Eliza, you are always so kind! I appreciate your lovely comments 😊❤
There's absolutely no way I'll ever be able to do this.
😆😆I feel that. It’s challenging, for sure! Try the 3 section way instead to curl the back❤
I’ve tried and can’t do it hahaha
Keep trying, once you figure it out, I promise it’s easy!

Turned out beautiful ❤️
Thank you 😊
Thanks for showing this method! ❤
My pleasure 😊❤
Your hair is gorgeous and those curls, wow 😍 When you had tied your hair up it actually looked like some fancy Victorian hair style.
It did, didn’t it?? Could wear it as a hairstyle 😊thank you ❤❤
Love it!! I just started doing rope curls after seeing your videos. ❤
They're the BEST! I seriously never use an iron anymore!
I was getting ready to link this to you!
Love love love I'm looking for the olden day rag tie curls from Victorian times
Turned out great as always tho 😍

Wow!! Gorgeous. Challenging tho..
Thank you! Challenging but worth it! I think ❤️😆

These look amazing! I'm going to have to try them on Mt daughter when she's feeling better. I've tried leggings but her hair falls in an hour...
I hope it works well for her! Leggings sound too thick for her hair. Try a robe tie. If a robe tie doesnt work well, then try something thinner like a scarf!
@laineymariebeauty Thank you!! Her hair is long and fine, but she has a lot of it. So hoping this helps!
