I’ve been doing your robe heatless curls most weeks now, I absolutely love them! They last three days for me, and take less than 10mins to ‘create’. My colleagues have said how lovely they look so I’ve been sending them your video link 😀 thank you!
I love that ☺️thanks for sharing!!! I work remote but I wish I knew about robe curls when I worked in the office. My hair always looked a mess and it was always in a messy bun!
I think the result from the socks was the best. What a fun way to do heatless curls. When I was in my teens I used to roll my hair on strips torn from a bed sheet. I seriously looked like Laura Ingalls when I went to bed, I only lacked the night cap 😂
I watched your video just before going to sleep and since I have an entire drawer of scrunchies, I wanted to try making some curls. They actually came out pretty and springy, maybe because I washed my hair and it was still a tiny bit moist. It was also incredibly comfy to sleep in. So now I have pretty curls and a better morning. Thank you :)
Huge YES to a series on heatless curls!!! 👍 That would be awesome! I'm curious to see all the different methods that exist. So far loving the robe curls the best! 😍
I like the socks. I really struggle to curl my hair. It will curl wet in braids and stay most of the day but when I use heat it won't curl and falls out in about half hour. Might give these a try.💕
I really liked both of them. They were a little bit different on each side but not noticeable different. You are so creative in achieving heartless curls and letting us watch you do it. Thank you for sharing. You rock. Greetings from Canada!
You are the only person I know that could literally put socks 🧦 in their hair and still be beautiful! I agree, though, I like the sock side the best ❤️
I have stupid long hair and I've been using one of the things similar to a robe belt, but I don't like the way the center back looks. Gonna try the sock for that section.
On my roommate's hair, this is how I did heatless curls: *While her hair was damp, I applied the Hairitage curl enhancing foam *I did 2 French braids on her The next day, the waves turned out seriously AMAZING!
To get more curl and bounce with socks, hold the opening of sock to your right if rt handed. Roll your hair from the very end all the way up and then fold the opening over the other part of the sock. I use 6 or 7 socks total. 2 on top, 1 on ea side, then 2 or 3 in back.

I just bought a pack of inexpensive satin scrunchies on Amazon and can't wait to try it. I'm hoping the satin might prevent the tangle part. 🤞🤞thank you for the demo!
Get a old pantyhose, cut off stripes from the leg that are at least 3 inches wide. Then pull the ring wider, the edges will roll in a bit, the circumference increases, the width of 3 inches will be reduced. No fraying, no running stitches. You can use that like scrunchies. Trie out one ring. How it looks like after it has been pulled. But the effect (ring is wider, but the width is less) is not as pronounced with thicker material (the opaque winter panties for instance). Maybe you will need 4 inches wide stripes. The rings can be folded double so they are thicker. I like to use those in the household. Rubber rings disintegrate and some get a sticky mess. Not nice if you use that to close bags of crafts supplies. If you cut off only rings that are 1 - 1,5 inches wide and then pull on them, the ring will get much wider compared to when you cut off rings that are 3 inches or more. If there is more material (and / or if the material is thicker) it will withstand your pull. So you can chose how wide your rubber band / scrunchie has to be. I also use it in the garden.
I’m inspired to try the sock curls now. My hair is coarse and just not bendy, my ends do not want to curl around anything so things like robe curls are a challenge, but maybe the socks will help the ends stay put. My go to that gives me beachy mermaid waves is one Dutch braid down the middle. I use a paranda I made with bamboo yarn so my ends get some wave too and bonus, I don’t need any kind of hair tie at the end.
Back in the 50’s my mom would set my little sister’s hair in rags at night and in the morning she had beautiful curls,! How funny that 60 years later everyone thinks this is a new invention… they just came full circle. 😊
I'm tempted to try either of these honestly. I have wavy/curly hair naturally but I like a different look sometimes and don't like to use heat on my hair. My only issue is my hair frizzes quickly.
I used to get this exact look back in 1978 using pins and soft small rollers, although I did it on wet hair and also a styling lotion because my extremely straight hair did not hold a curl well at all.
@@LaineyMarieBeauty I think I did something wrong but it didn't work for me LOL I say it was my fault 😂 or it could be my hair texture. I definetly want to try it again and do it better

I have short wavy hair and I tried to do this but I keep messing up and start hitting my head, like it's so hard but your's came out so good. Ik I'm late sorry about that. And your so pretty.
Which redken shampoo and conditioner do you use and recommend? Your hair is so silky! 😊 I want to try this method on my naturally wavy hair and see if it enhances the curl
Sock side! I just watched a video just yesterday with this chick did the socks and her hair came out awesome! She lightly sprayed a mixture of conditioner and water and it came out amazing. But her hair was alil shorter then ours. But she had the waves of a lady you would see in the 40s-50s. Maybe try the conditioner and water method and see what you get. I'm gonna try it myself. Another great video! Thanks!
I like the socks side better. When I was a little girl I would stay at my Nanna's house for some of my school holidays and one time she curled my hair with short cotton ribbon type of material, I don't specifically remember what she used, but I remember what she used looked like and my hair turned out like Shirley Temple 😅 Thanks for the tutorial. ❤️💜
That’s awesome! Wish I knew what it was that she used! I was looking around my house for things to use in my hair and there’s a lot of potential items to make some cool curls ☺️💗
@@LaineyMarieBeauty I wish I remembered what she used, they looked like ripped strips from rags, but cut up perfectly, the idea would of been passed down to her, as it was before her time. I never asked her what they were, where she got them, when you are a kid you just want to play and have fun and don't care about the details of things. We were close and got on well. She would even make my costumes for classical ballet, which I started at age 6. My mum could not sew as good. I hope it helps a bit what she used. 🙂 💜
I want to try this but I only have 2 pair of socks. How many socks will I need? And, what fiber (cotton, nylon, wool, etc.) will work best? Thanks so much!!

I’ve done the sock curls before but I was thinking about it the other night... what if you put the socks in the dryer first? And then dampen the hair??
I use an old beach texture hair spray bottle with water because whenever i buy spray bottles they sprayer doesn’t work or stops working. At least i know the bottle i have for hair stuff already works.

If the hair doesn't dry tight, the curl will be loose. I have fine hair that doesn't hold for very long. My best curls are when the hair is rolled damp. If rolled tighter, it stays tied up better. Takes longer to dry, so I roll it at night, wear it with the scrunchies during the day and then style that night or even the next day. Keeps your hair clean. Matching scrunchies make it look like a hairstyle. I've had excellent results. Products help, but I don't like using them. They can make your hair stringy and stiff.
