I was excited about the new Boss pedals that were to announced and they were those 2 new digital pedals! I was like, I have a DD-500, not too interested then they announced this new analog pedal! I have it on pre-order! It just ticks several boxes for me! I personally love the music from late 70s to early 80s!! I’m not a fan of U2 but I do like their first album Boy, those type of delay sounds are so nice
It does sound amazing. And especially with the single-coil strat type guitar. The DM-101 itself has as much character as an amp. Super interesting sounds to get lost in.

Some digital delays like the Eventide H90, for example, have great FX but leave a ' sheen ' over the sound that irritates, and cannot be ' removed ' This is a more useful and versatile machine with a great ' sound ' for the studio engineer and recording applications.

Delay is one of those effects that I love to hear others use but when I use it myself I just want it to be just baaaaarely there. I never feel "musical" really when I'm using really over the top delay sounds but some of the greatest tones ever were loaded with delay. Even John Mayer on Last Train Home is using a CRAP ton in the solo for that song if you hear it in isolation.
Sounds nice. But hearing that it costs £449.00/ $499.99 (I am not complaining,. Boss prices are as pricey as Boss always does) I came to this two conclusions: 1st.That Boss DD-200 is good enough. 2nd. I am staying with my Line 6 DL4 Mk II. For more sophisticated delays in my songs I am using VST's anyways. In concert situation the audience usuallly will not hear the difference between these and Behringer. Final conclusion: If Boss sent this pedal to me for free I would be really happy :-)

This pedal is not designed cleverly at all. It is really NOT stereo since there are NO two inputs for a stereo. Second, the pedal does not have ¨kill dry¨ on outputs, and the some ¨kill dry¨ options are WRONG. One must have stereo in and stereo out, meaning that delay is usually NOT the first pedal on the pedalboard but rather last one. Etc. Other objections too ... these pedals are NOT designed by guitarists who actually use pedalboards with various pedals... It is good that it is analog (digital pedals are bad in general).

Different flavors. Tape delay vs analog Bucket Brigade delay. Just depends on what flavor you like better. Both are amazing at what they do

They turn the delay level up high to hear in demos, in use you would have the level lower
