  • Join me for a relaxing scenic drive along Hwy 296, Chief Joseph Highway and Hwy 212 Beartooth Highway.
    This is a long one and I have added chapters so it will be easily navigated. (I actually cut it down from two hours to just under one hour.
    The Halfway mark is at 27 minutes and there is much to see on the way back through Chief Joseph as well.
    You can always watch half and come back later to watch the other half.
    The Beartooth Highway was not completely open on this drive, it was closed just past Long Lake at the barricade so I had to turn around and head back. There was still a bit of snow the higher I traveled and it was beautiful.
    I hope you enjoy the Video of this beautiful area.

    We have snowmobiled that area for years, staying in Cooke City, this past summer was my first time over the entirety of Beartooth Pass, in a car, drove from Red Lodge, to Cooke City and then thru Yellowstone to Gardner. My favorite place on earth!! Great video!!

    Really enjoy your videos. Missed this road two years ago due to wash outs. Hope to fly in first of August, renting a motorcycle from Eagle Riders and riding it. Beautiful country up there you have.

      Just curious what kind of camera you use ?

    • @loristravels
      @loristravels  2 месяца назад +1

      @@rustyjohnson2659 I mostly use a GoPro11 to capture the video from the moving Jeep or Motorcycle. Still shots and some video, I use a Nikon Z6 and my Iphone.

      Thanks for the info. I have a gopro I'll use too. What do you have it mounted on ? You have nice steady shots and good panning around. Sorry for so many questions...lol

    • @loristravels
      @loristravels  Месяц назад +1

      @@rustyjohnson2659 No worries, I just have the GoPro 11 mounted onto a Volta, it is one of their grips that is also a battery. I have found that the newer gopros have better stabilization and if the footage still looks wobbly I fix it in Final Cut Pro.I don't use a gimbal, I just hand hold the grip out the drivers window or out the top. I gently rotate the gopro towards different things. I try not to rotate it too quickly otherwise it has a dizzying effect on the viewer. I don't mind the questions, I still do not have the best setup but it works for me. I know that the more successful RUclipsrs don't like to give away any of their secrets but when a person is just starting it is nice to get some sort of advice even if they use it as a stepping stone to better ideas.

    Great Video! It is beautiful scenery with great camera work and editing. I am curious about the camera and editing tools that you use. We are making another motorcycle trip there the first week of September. Great job. Keep up the good work.

      Thank you! I use a GoPro11, I mounted the camera out my side window on this video which is why it is in a stationary position. I use a Nikon Z6 and my Iphone for still shots (and some video). I use Final cut pro for video editing and most of the text and effects are free ones I found on the internet. For my still shots I edit using Lightroom, both versions. I hope your trip out here is awesome.
