There are people who can sing in every generation. What we need now is songwriters and producers to pair those voices with beautiful lyrics and music, and promote it. That's what was happening with the Righteous Brothers.
I am 61 years old and grew up with this type music. I think you can see why we say, we had the best type music, No Swearing, No Killing, No Bullying, just old romance and fun type songs. You say you really don't care much for today's music, some of it is good, but only You can begin to bring music to the standards you like to hear. Starting telling the people who follow you and the word will get out to the music companies and artists. Only You Can Change The World Now, It's your turn.. Best Of Luck...
The music of the late 60's through the mid 90's was the best music ever. So many great singers, songs and groups. No wonder they are called the Golden Oldies. No music like it since.
You know about half of the population of the country are walking the earth because of these men's songs.Lots of babies were created because of their music.
I I wish we had singers like that today as well I grew up with these wonderful artists... and that is what is so missing in today's music for the most part: heart and real soul.
I just love what you saying young man. Music shouldn't know race, age, ethnicity or gender, it should just touch your soul. Hard to beat great singers.......no matter what era they were in.
I was 15 yrs old when they came out with this beautiful song. I'm so glad you are enjoying our blue eyed soul singers. They were so awesome!!! I agree with you about today's music. I tried listening and it doesn't appeal to me. I've always loved good music even at 73 yrs old. Bless you! Your awesome!!! ❤❤
Astounding! You ought to listen to Elvis Presley's rendition of this song & Unchained Melody , too! These folks are our icons for a reason! We have yet to see any entertainer today who could compete successfully with the Righteous Brothers or Elvis! This isn't really "old" music because it is universal & speaks of feelings man will have ( hopefully) throughout the span of humanity! It's important for young folks to listen to heartfelt music like this! It just may awaken their souls & they may just discover the true meaning of God's love within themselves ( & for each other, )in this seemingly soulless & heartless age! Just a thought! I really enjoyed your reaction! It gives us hope for future generations! Thanks!
Well sweetie you have brought it to your generation, that's the great thing about music, it can belong to whoever wants it when they want it, it's timeless, most of it anyway! I love your channel and love your thoughtful reactions!
The Righteous Brothers... wow, righteous indeed; two contrasting voices that came together to form beautiful harmonious SOUL. Back in the day, EVERYONE thought they were Black... but does it really matter? Beautiful music is beautiful music, talent is talent and soul IS soul. They were singing t a small club, mostly Black patrons were grooving to their music, and a young Black guy in a Navy uniform stepped up to the stage and said, "That's righteous, brother, righteous!" And the name stuck. They ARE righteous and so is their beautiful harmony and their list of music. Those were the good ol' days. We're lucky to have recordings today to enjoy their music.
The Righteous Brothers are known as "Blue Eyed Soul; they're extremely soulful; their voices compliment each other; this is pure talent; they're exceptional; you don't hear music like this tdy
I was fortunate to be teenager when they were performing. Amen. ✨ No voice synthesizers, no control booth. Just the voices. To be honest, if thOse technological advances had existed then, people would have taken advantage of them. But they did not. So we were blessed, as they did not yet exist. And voices likes these, and others, resonated through the airwaves. As I said, we were blessed. AND ... YOU are BLESSED to have discerning ears and eyes ... to hear and appreciate what others have overlooked. God bless you, always.
You are right about it sounding like Motown. I was 14 when this came out. These guys' music inspired me to like Motown, rather than the frivolous rock and roll that was flooding the markets at that time. These guys sang with heart and soul. How could you not be touched by this. Even commercial Motown can't touch these guys. Does my heart good to see a young guy like you appreciate this music.
Just keep digging and you will always have this era's music. It's all we listen to. Also, we were blessed to grow up with 50 s 60 s ,and 70 s as kids. The music we listened to back then was just so pure. It felt like was hitting your soul.
They began their career singing as a duo in So Cal at an Air Force base. When they sang, the numerous Black men in this audience of airmen would shout out, "That's RIGHTEOUS brother!" A very appropriate name for them...
Perfection. Absolute perfection start to finish. I cry every single time I hear this and I’m a 64 year-old man. In my opinion THE best vocalized musical piece ever.
Only your generation can change the vast hole that exist in music today. Keep listening to what great music use to sound like!! The pendulant will swing back!
Yup yup! These kinds of songs are almost not written anymore. Glad this song will be testing the hands of time. Thanks for reacting to this song. A pure pleasure. I do believe this song might have been the most requested song of the 20th century.
When you said that you wished that music would get back to this, though you understood that you may not like what everyone else likes...I literally raised up my hands, man. Preach. You've got alot of like minded souls out there that were born a couple decades too late.
Life and music went on long before all of us arrived. It is a good thing to hold on to it in your generation and appreciate it and love it. By doing that you are keeping it your generation! And you will pass it on. You have a big, open heart. You are special.
If goosebumps were dollars I'd be a millionaire. Love the music, so enjoy watching you appreciate music that was created for the soul and not bank accounts.
A little fact. This was the most played song of the 20th century. Great music lives. Give Rock and Roll Heaven a listen. The Righteous Brothers did this in 1974. Thx
I remember growing up, I said then it was the best music ever, past or future... The way notes.& rhythm can be uniquely combined, add lyrics...sadly, not infinite. Blessed to have experienced, lived and enjoyed it!! Love, love you bringing some of the best back to the spotlight!!!
I think there always be good singers and songwriters. The difference now is that the industry decides what to push so they can make money. Many great independent singers in the margins though. However the warmth in these old recordings is unsurpassed .
I agree 100%with your reaction.. we had the best music in the late 50s and through the 60s😍.i know because I was alive back then..i still love it to this day..😍it's timeless💥
Enjoyed the reaction ! Give a listen to Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons. A great song is Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You. Roy Orbison is another great ! Only the Lonely ! Two great singers ! Two great songs !!
Such a beautiful song and two of the greatest voices ever. , the 60’s, 70’s and part of the 80’s were the best years as far as music goes. I hope your doing well
Its true. It seems like the look and market ability means more then talent. Nowadays what u hear from today's songs are mixed and polished so damn much all the soul and heart of music is left on the recording scrap pile
Does my heart good to know that your generation is becoming aware of this generation. I grew up listening to them but they were actually the generation before me. Thanks for giving it a try!
My dad introduced me to this and I basically forgot about them until this year, and I went back to it and appreciate it even more now. The best part was then showing to it my kids, and a 10,12,and 15 year old all really like the righteous brothers. Agree we need more of this stuff
Sometimes I just want to give you a big hug right through my screen! 🤗You remind me so much of my 11 year old son. He has an "old soul" and loves old music and movies, especially Queen!
I agree with you about older music. We do need the pure talent of those times, without autotune and "studio" voices and all the enhancements. These days really lack that.
@@williamcabell142 Of course not. I was referring to his reference to Motown and love of older music. I just said I miss Motown... along with other 60s music.
I dont know if I realy miss Motown that much. Motown was the begining of the modern music industry and represent much of 60s massproduced pop. Yes, Marvin Gay was awesome and so was Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Jackson 5 etc etc. But there is a reason to why we can spot a Motown song a mile away, and why this dude relate this to Motown. There is a reason to why "Motown" is a sound, not just a record company.
Decades later, ‘Righteous Brother’ Bill Medley had a hit duet on the Dirty Dancing movie soundtrack. “I’ve Had The Time of my Life.” “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling “ is one of the best pop songs ever released. I first heard it in the movie “Top Gun.”
I am sorry to say my generation was the last to produce true heart moving music. Today's generation does not produce music that stirs the soul and makes someone long for a deep lasting love and are willing to work for it. Instead of just looking for a few minutes of pleasure.
The Righteous Brothers were Great...This is probably one of their all-time greatest hits... if not then greatest hit.....but you must always remember that this song among many others are produced by Phil Spector.... known for his"Wall of Sound". .
You have a lot of heart and soul. Depth! Very sweet to see in a young guy like you. Gives me hope! I'm appreciating this song a lot more than I did when it was on the radio all the time in 1964. I never saw this video then (there were no videos, just tv).
The Righteous Brother's were amazing! Love there music. I just listened to a song by Brook Benton , A Rainy Night in Georgia and cried my eyes out. It was so so amazing. Hope you get a chance to hear this song. You won't regret it!!

You're absolutely right. We need these pure singers now days. Older music has so much more soul in it.
I wish we had more singers like them also. Raw without computer trickery and auto tune. Love the rawness.
You know about half of the population of the country are walking the earth because of these men's songs.Lots of babies were created because of their music.

The Righteousness Brothers are timeless. The came out in 1962 when I was a sophomore in high school. Still listen to them today at age 76. RIP Bobby.
Two extremely talented singers coming together to create an unforgettable harmony!!!
But baby, baby I know it......chills up my spine!
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield were my generation but they speak to all generations and all people.
I just love what you saying young man. Music shouldn't know race, age, ethnicity or gender, it should just touch your soul. Hard to beat great singers.......no matter what era they were in.
Your right, this music in todays world would make it a better place.
No doubt the older generation of music was fabulous and I hear nothing to compare it to these days!
I was 15 yrs old when they came out with this beautiful song. I'm so glad you are enjoying our blue eyed soul singers. They were so awesome!!! I agree with you about today's music. "Today's music...It doesn't fit my soul..." That is so right and so beautiful...
i never get tired of this song. it is beautiful!
I can't listen to this song without tearing up 🥲 - it's just utterly beautiful and deeply touching😍
JB I’m a 70’s kid you are right we had the best music ever YOU ARE WHAT WE CALL AN OLD SOUL FOR YOUR AGE KEEP THE GREAT MUSIC COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I CAN SEE THE GUENUINE JOY IN YOUR FACE ON LISTENING TO THE SUPERB MUSIC OF FORMER TIMES BLESS YOUR GENUINE HEART!
I agree with you and we need more songs that make you feel!! I grew up in the 60’s!!!
When music touches your soul it’s timeless!!
"Blue-eyed" soul. Can't beat Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. The Righteous Brothers are aptly named.
so them in person just like the record
🎯💯So true !!👍
They began their career singing as a duo in So Cal at an Air Force base. When they sang, the numerous Black men in this audience of airmen would shout out, "That's RIGHTEOUS brother!" A very appropriate name for them...
Something else to consider... They sang it just like the record. Live. No recordings. No autotune. Everybody back then did it that. ♥️
Perfection. Absolute perfection start to finish. I cry every single time I hear this and I’m a 64 year-old man. In my opinion THE best vocalized musical piece ever.

I agree with you, today's music is about the catchy "hook". These guys were passionate and talented story tellers.
We need such voices and soul in our generation. You've just nailed it...
When you said that you wished that music would get back to this, though you understood that you may not like what everyone else likes...I literally raised up my hands, man. Preach. You've got alot of like minded souls out there that were born a couple decades too late.

Blue eyed soul.....
What the newer generation is missing is not so much the singer but the songs! I haven't heard but just a few really good songs in seriously decades!
Released in November 1964...got to #1 on Feb.6, 1965...and got to #2 on the R&B charts. One of the BEST records ever made!!!
No auto-tune, just pure talent that sounds as good live as in the studio.
Blue eyed soul.
Bill was the weight and Bobby soared. They were righteous 🔥
Righteous Brothers are Great !
If goosebumps were dollars I'd be a millionaire. Love the music, so enjoy watching you appreciate music that was created for the soul and not bank accounts.

Wonderful song, I listened to this as a young child and still love it today ... I love that you see the beauty in music .. you have a pure soul
Mike C I’m 50 but my parents played me this as a young child
I agree we do need more music...singing, relevant, beautiful voices. I miss it too :( #oldskoolrocks
Great duo.
I think there always be good singers and songwriters. The difference now is that the industry decides what to push so they can make money. Many great independent singers in the margins though. However the warmth in these old recordings is unsurpassed .
Blue eyed soul from my generation to yours.
Sad song about desperation and hurt but beautiful. Great soulful song.
one of the greatest love lost songs ever written
I agree 100%with your reaction.. we had the best music in the late 50s and through the 60s😍.i know because I was alive back then..i still love it to this day..😍it's timeless💥

Doesn't it just ring true for anyone that notices the change in a relationship?. Oldies are the goldies!
"Soul and Inspiration" ; The Righteous Brothers
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS
I totally agree with you JB, I was born in the 70s and think the 60's -90's has the best music.
The joy on your face is great to see. Thank you.
Thank you. I was a teenager in the 1960's. It's great to hear a younger person agree, that (most) of today's music is Crap.
Its true. It seems like the look and market ability means more then talent. Nowadays what u hear from today's songs are mixed and polished so damn much all the soul and heart of music is left on the recording scrap pile
Fitting song for today’s music, bring back that loving feeling.
This song is the most listened to song on radio and TV in the twentieth century .
You gave the highest compliment to 1960s music that we need that in the 2020s. The Righteous Brothers can do it. Thank you!
When you get goose bumps, you know that the greats have just performed a classic.
Growing up with the Righteous Brothers, watching this video brought so much joy to see your beautiful heartfelt reaction. I totally agree with you.
I wish these great singers were in our generation as well!
Does my heart good to know that your generation is becoming aware of this generation. I grew up listening to them but they were actually the generation before me. Thanks for giving it a try!
The Blue Eyed Soul Brothers 💙 yes indeed.
Your smile when they were breaking in down back and forth spoke volumes as to just how good Medley and Hatfield are. Fantastic vocals. Nice reaction.
A lot of people thought that they were black they had so much soul
It is sooooo sweet to see you loving our music!!!! Thanks!
You're a honest young man. And you're wiser than many far older.
The Brother s were great. Dancing slow with your first love. Great memories
My dad introduced me to this and I basically forgot about them until this year, and I went back to it and appreciate it even more now. The best part was then showing to it my kids, and a 10,12,and 15 year old all really like the righteous brothers. Agree we need more of this stuff

Great music transcends generations!
I totally agree, today's music just isn't the same! Glad to see younger people enjoying true talent! Great video!!
70 s music is Gods gift to.you James 🎁🎶♩🎵❤
First dance for my husband and I. We were at a park swinging when the righteous brothers came on!! No one better!!!
I like the way you think about music, JB.
I love your spirit. God bless you.
Your appreciation for great music is greatly appreciated!
That song was popular when I was in grade school. Lord, does it bring back memories.
I agree with you about older music. We do need the pure talent of those times, without autotune and "studio" voices and all the enhancements. These days really lack that.
We had the best of the best in the '60s. That is the only thing I would want to go back for. The Music.
God yes. I miss Motown, so much talent in the 60s
P Luehaw they were not Motown.
