Thank you my girl is making greens for the 1st time so I tried to find her a classic traditional recipe don't hand me no turkey and no greens thank you again we will be using this forever.
Can I just say, I love you lol. This is real cooking right here... I can't wait to make some greens with this recipe. I love me some greens but really had no idea how to make them and I have no doubt this is gonna be amazing because you cook this with love and that is what cooking is really about!
I just sat up straight in my chair, looked forward and paid very close attention cause I knew this was going to be good. My mother use to say that the grease help the green to get a little tender. What did I learn today, the aluminum foil tip and that cooking with love makes everything taste good.
Sister you are such a nice Lady, ok I got it. I met a lady from Chicago when I was in the service, she would fry her greens in a pan with Bacon or Ham, she had it going on, I didn,t do the right thing, she got away. BB
Maddie I have never cook collard greens like that but my family say that they are the best color greens they ever had thank you so much for showing us how to cook those greens the right way thank you Maddie
Hi Maddie. Just found you tonight. Collard greens are my favorite and I HAVE TO make your recipe! I’m not waiting until Thanksgiving. These look absolutely delicious. Thank you for this amazing dish! I’ll write back after I make Maddie’s collards. ❤️
Hello from CT! Thank you mattie for teaching me this recipe, it looks delicious! I love that you use stainless steel. I threw out all my old toxic teflon cookware and replaced it with stainless steel. I look forward to learning more recipes from you.
See I thought I knew how to cook greens...until I watched your video. The first time I tried it- Lawd, I almost fell out of my chair it was so good!!! Have a great day Mrs. Mattie! Modified my recipe to just plain ole turkey tail for health purposes.
I have to watch this to see if you add tiny bit of sugar at the end. Also my friend from SC taught me and she made a big deal of 2 things. 1)Thoroughly cleaning the greens so no grit (sand) in them so she probably picked them from her garden … and 2) cutting not shredding by hand but leaves either rolled and cutting small pieces or cutting lengthwise then cross way. Those were the 2 things she stressed. Then add salt pepper ro taste. Cover simmer. Add tsp sugar and serve with the juice (green liquor or whatever she called that! Yum) over Carolina long grain. With baked macaroni and cheese and baked or fried chicken. Definitely the best. She never told me to add any other vegetables. Not even garlic (?). But maybe these are new ideas and she was old school. Oh vinegar. That adds the sweet. Just subscribed to your channel. 💕.
Hi I just described to your channel love watching you cook I like the way you teach us how to cook your way I have a question where did you get that pot that you are cleaning the collard greens in can you please give me the website in the name of that pacific pot please could you tell me please thank you
Thanks so much for subscribing. The most ask question. Those pots are regular cafeterias pans. You need to go to a place were you buy restaurants equipment I know you have one in your area somewhere. Thanks so much for viewing and sharing and subscribe if not. Thanks.

im going to make these tomorrow! I have a question , I tried to put pork neck bones in greens one time and jelly looking stuff came out of them..fat I reckon. What do people do with pork neck bones? Thank you !
Collard greens takes longer to cook because they're more tougher than mustard and turnip greens. Greens with fatback and cornbread from scratch along with fried chicken man that's finger licking good. My family is from Mississippi deep south and they eat greens with their hands instead of a fork.
At first I was wondering if you’d put that Square pan with the Greens in it, in the oven but you use it because you did have a lot of Greens, I see…made sense
Tell me girl I swear I don’t know? You view me all the times sometimes I might come back to videos I started and might get mix up with another. I try to respond to my comments the best I know how. I am sorry if I say something hateful. Thanks
