My dad, for years (well, since 1994, duh) has kept the NY Post with the Rangers winning the Cup (I'm a Leafs fan, from the non-Sabres side of Upstate NY, whole family are Rangers fans). Mike Richter comes to town for a promo (we have a good Div. 3 team here and the Utica Comets, so there's a market for these things). My brother, rabid Rangers fan, goes to see him, waits in line, finally gets to him and hands him the Post. Richter's eyes light up, "Oh, man! I remember this cover! I haven't seen one of these in years! D--do you want me to sign it?"
He's really excited, just took all his attention. Richter slowly grabs the paper from my brother, picks up a marker without looking.
Then his jerk PR guy or whoever yells at my brother about having not paid some dumb fee for autographs. So my brother and Mike Richter both look at the guy, like you just had this genuine moment where a fan connected with probably the greatest memory of Mike Richter's career... and some dweeb ruins it over "the rules".
In any case, hearing Kypper talk about '94 was cool. I will always be part Rangers fan. I know it always seems like the Rangers are overshadowed in New York, and they do play fourth fiddle, but New Yorkers know who's on the team, they know a bit of the history. Really cool interview, though.
Somehow this one podcast with Kypreos had made him more likable than the past three years of being forced to watch him on Sportsnet.

Ok, so I don't hate Nick as much as I was hoping. I still prefer Friedman's style and reporter info, but this was interesting.

What a crazy episode. Also ... I had no idea Strombo was out and MacClean was in. Did you guys do an episode about that? I'd love to hear it. EDIT: Also, I think this was my favorite episode that you guys have ever done! Love you guys no matter what, and all that you do, but I think it's because it stayed on topic that this was so awesome! haha

@@pjpredhomme7699 agreed, Jesse is great but shouldn't be as opinionated. The other two have been in media for years, stay in your lane
Nick Kypreos, along with the Sportsnet cast of Doug Maclean and Darren Millard are up there with the likes of the worst hockey commentators on television. Which include Pierre Mcguirre, Glen Healey and Mike Millbury. Unless it's my team playing during their broadcasts I tune out. Strombo wasn't very good on HNiC but guys like Kypreos brought it down more than anything else -IMO.

They did not get rid of it, they just moved down to just once a week
so during off season podcast will be once a week during the season it twice the week
you know since it slow time of the year also during the summer one of the two would go to vacation so they have best of episodes till they return
