Well, minions are literally made to be as simplistic and cutesy as possible.
Anime girls have so called "Schrödinger's nose". It only exists when you look at them from the side.
Just like pregnant women in pictures-
This has already happened. Where do you think we are right now?
Hello dear Scientists...
At 3:47, Felix Is NOT A Cat Girl But A Boy At Bottom-Right...
Yup
I have an anecdote about this.
I've spent the last year or so in a chat room dedicated to a pretty niche hobby (computer science related). The room has around two million messages, so I downloaded all of them and used them to create a sort of chat bot. It wasn't anything complicated, it just took pre-existing messages and showed you a random reply to the closest message in the room to what you typed in.
It was kind of fun to play around with, but since it only used exact pre-existing messages it would give you nonsense replies pretty often. But, if you stuck with it for a little while, you'd sometimes end up in a little "conversation" where the replies just happened to actually make sense with what you said, and the context leading up to it.
Even with full knowledge of how it worked, and having just spend ten or twenty minutes in a totally senseless and directionless conversation, when those occasional realistic discussions occured (usually under a dozen messages long), they felt way more real than they should have. I found myself genuinely thanking "people" who replied to my questions with useful answers, or being a little angry when someone said something which, devoid of the context it was said in, came across as rude or sarcastic.
Now, in the time since I had first interacted with the room, which was part of a much larger site, and when I became most active, quite a few of the site's (and chat room's) main users had left. One of these had taught me a significant amount about one of the topics the room discussed. I'd had no contact with him in years, during which time I'd realized how helpful he'd actually been.
Well, I tried saying hi to him, and since there aren't many other things you generally reply to that with, the program responded to me with an instance of him saying hi (to someone else, many years ago). I was, as if it had really been the real person, excited and happy. It took me a second to realize what had happened, to take some time and remind myself it wasn't real.
In a situation where a computer can simulate not only talking with real people, but seeing them and holding long, realistic conversations, I don't think our brains would have any chance. It's easy to feel bad about killing a cat in Minecraft, so a fully realistic simulation of a discussion with another human being would surely be able to have a large impact on them. If someone can be simulated who is constantly compassionate and empathetic to you, who has zero ulterior motive and exists only to listen to you and discuss what you want to talk about, I could see even the most distant or technology-wary of people becoming closely attached to the simulated person.
Jesus I came to the comments to lose brain cell not gain them

Ah yes, *anme grl*
420th like let’s go
That's how I like it.
Jumping off the section on "Post-Avatar Depression," I think the most depressing idea that I've taken away from this is that so many people believe that planet earth is a dull, boring place. I've climbed snowy mountains above the clouds, slept under glittering desert night skies, witnessed dazzling sunrises in the middle of nowhere and walked through a rainforest, marveling at the teeming life that resides there. The world is beautiful, and it will be destroyed by human activity before most people even realize that it exists. We don't need a Pandora, we have one right here, but I understand how that might be hard to fathom when you spend your whole life mired in a suburban hellscape.
Glad you're rich enough to indulge in such activities. Isn't much help for anyone else, boasting about it, though.
@@Bruh-zx2mc I think he didn't mean it in that way. Still, I haven't even left my country because it's just not economically viable, I think that's also the appeal of virtual worlds: they are accessible and require no effort on your end, just like the people in anime or videogames being there just for your own entertainment
It's much easier when you have the money, time and motivation to do those things, while there are people who need to work 24/7 just to buy some junk food, or don't even have a job at all
I know boasting about your activities wasn't your intention, but start considering the monetary condition and mental state of others before using your own life style as the most approachable thing in the world
Exactly my thoughts, we got ourselves a real treasure here and people don't see it. You don't even need to live on a tropical island or anything to see beautiful things everyday, like the sunrise and sunset or birds flying or trees just chilling.
Everyone wishes they could do what you do. The problem is that they’re caught in the rat race.
Don’t be alarmed, it’s all by design. Depressed people will buy whatever it takes to be “happy” for even a moment. Depression and unfulfillment are good for business.
3:50 I could easily be wrong here, but I don't think most of these guys actually want to date actual anime girls. They struggle finding love in the real world and don't want to have to risk being vulnerable, so they create fantasy girls in their heads who will always love them and are perfect in every way.
Well, anime is not so much about girls as it is about luck. those guys just want more luck. because finding love is pure luck both in anime and in real life.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a plane accident where you end up in the island full of beautiful girls? or get transferred into class with 10 girls and no boys or just plain meet someone who happens to like you and you like them as well, but that's a level of luck beyond what mortals can expect LOL
Probably true. Not a guy but when I was younger I was pretty into anime and had similar feelings towards anime girls. They just seemed so perfect and unconditionally loving. I was also pretty shy so interacting with real people sounded more dreadful than interacting with fictional people. I never went to the lengths as some people do with this but for a while anime romance seemed more appealing to me than real romance. As I got older I kinda lost interest in that though. Someone who is desined to be perfect is boring. Real interactions can be scary sometimes but also way more rewarding.

This video reminds me of Pygmalion from Greek mythology. He was a sculptor who detested real woman, so he made a statue of the perfect woman and married it.
I think VRchat is a good example as having fiction and reality together. You have real people in VRchat interacting with each other while using fictional characters or objects as themselves. You won't have to go through weird and stressful social interactions like real life. It's easier to understand others I in VRchat cause they have to rely more on how they speak and become more punctual

@@josephcalabrese6337 Its basically Greek. It would translate to " drawing " in English and in Greek its called σχεδιο. In this context the whole word translates to someone who has an attraction to cartoons.
The "wanting to commit suicide to come back as a Navii" thing was legitimate. I had a girlfriend who was depressed and suicidal a lot. Avatar became one of her escapes in her mind, but then turned into a "If I kill myself, I can come back as a Navii." I had to talk her down from that a few times. High School was rough.

Ngl it’s kinda scary cause I know that I wouldn’t mind living in a near perfect world with an anime waifu completely controlled by an ai.
"The Matrix" is basically the "1984" of modern dystopia fiction; oppressive AI causing us to be born into a simulated world of virtual gaslighting. Some characters try to fight it, but others feel completely helpless and would be more content to just not know. Cypher experienced depression at the idea of an unwinnable conflict and the impoverished suffering of the real world, much like how oppressive the world of "1984" feels to people who are aware that the world is somehow "wrong", but they are powerless to oppose it due to the absolute surveillance. Meanwhile, the people who completely go along with things are blissfully ignorant; content to live their lives as virtual automatons under the influence and ever-present observation of Big Brother.
But I've always felt that "1984" was an unrealistic representation of how a controlling dystopia would come about. A far more believable, realistically possible outlook, is "Brave New World". In BNW, people aren't oppressed or coerced to the ways of that society... they desire it and would choose it over the alternative. People are constantly drugged into a state of euphoria as well as being kept perpetually "young and beautiful" right up to when they drop dead, even though these drugs shorten their lifespan. They would much rather live short lives of beauty, sexual liberation, bliss, and worrylessness. They taught their children not just to accept and embrace death, but to celebrate it as a perfect end to a perfect existence. And even for those who actively rejected such a society, they weren't even forced to stay and participate. There were other places provided where they could live happy, but undrugged, lives in what was basically a Caribbean resort, experience the life-defining struggle (to them, anyway) of a survival life, or just go live in the unincorporated population which didn't have advanced technology, but also lacked the "perfect life" philosophy of the society. No one was forced into it... they trapped themselves, willingly and by choice. Imagine if you could be hooked up to The Matrix not by force, but by choice. You'd be set up with IV nutrients (probably not recycled people, but next best thing; recycled waste), you'd have constant, automatic medical monitoring, and all stimulus would not only be fed directly to your brain in a hyper-realistic manner, but you also had _control_ over your simulation. You could go to a group chat with others like you, or live in a private, Minecraft-esque virtual world, interact with virtual personalities completely at your own discretion, and just have generally complete VR freedom, completely dissociated from your physical body which is basically kept in storage until it stops working. Or, go one step beyond and upload your consciousness into the system, completely leaving your body behind and existing as data, itself. And none of the plot-necessary issues that The Matrix had to fabricate like "people naturally reject a perfect world in favor of a life of suffering". There are absolutely, 100%, people who do not fundamentally base their existence and humanity on suffering and would be _thrilled_ at the prospect of living an unfettered virtual life at the expense of physical existence.

As much as I love technology, sometimes it truly does feel that it's improving way too quickly. We have a lot more new tech than we know how to properly deal with or regulate.
I think that it's still quite complicated to make anime girls/boys real, yet I'm surprised some informations still got ignored:
+ Some animals don't necessarily breathe through their noses, like fish who breathe with their gills or frogs through their skin. Heck, some living beings don't even breathe. It could eventually be possible to find a way to improve the respiratory device of a prototype, either by completely changing it or by "just" fusing it with another one;
+ Either we can just skip the mouth part and make the prototype's mouth like ours, either slight improvements can be done so it looks simpler or such.
An idea I'd however be skeptical about is finding a way for the mouth to have some extra motion freedom- so it could go sideways in case this is much of a requirement. I have difficulties seeing that one working;
+ As for the prototype's eyes, I get that size has an impact on the eye's mobility. Though, instead or putting large eyes on the prototype, what if they rather had a casual size with sort of natural "lens" to make the eyes look wider? Said "lens" could even be designed so light is properly redirected towards the eyes, without any sight issues;
- There may be other things to take in account while "building" an anime girl/boy, like muscles and general body resistance if we aim for something as close to perfection as possible.
(and yeah I did skip the cartoon part)

I feel like if technology gets to a point where plugging yourself into a digital world is near identical to the real world, governments would treat it on the same level as crack or heroin and criminalize its usage.
That'd be assuming there is a legitimate danger to its population and/or economy. The thing is, unless production and distribution are entirely automatized and essentially free or there is an universal salary, that simulation wouldn't be free, and people would still need to work and make the economy turn to be able to get into these digital worlds. They'd also need space to live in, food to eat and water to drink. Realistically, the companies making the devices to connect would be legally required to verify the users' physical state and disconect them should they be in danger. It'd mean that this would be no different from how you currently live: you work to survive and have a good time outside of work.

To be fair, reality sucks, and that's why people seek escapism. That is ALSO why communists and feminazis are DESPERATE to invade and control any and all forms of entertainment, even if it burns to the ground from incompetence (see american comic book industry, multiple previously popular tv series, and mainstream media). As the Joker once said, "it's not about the money, it's about the message". Because of the excessive destruction of escapism and geek culture, the need for peace of mind and escapism becomes even greater. Destroying escapism is saying, "You can't escape, we control the narrative, we control you". It's all propaganda, and at the rate this is going, we will see anime and manga nosedive as well. This is why gatekeeping against the mentally insane is so important. Hell, why do you think localizations are such a controversy? It's because people with an agenda changes a medium to suit their agenda, changing characters, jokes, and even sexes, all for the narrative while proclaiming, "this is what is best for you, to hell with the original creator's intent".

Hello everyone, this is y o u r daily dose of *depression.*
Yeah, you're right but i can help you fix that depression. Now,come here, lemme give you a hug. You probally need one.
@Cyril Gigee It is hard to believe that it has already been 100 days since November 13, 2020. The clock stopped then. Now it ticks no longer for a year, but for our limited amount of time leading to our inevitable doom. Because time is already running out. We only have so much left before our clocks strike zero. And then it is game over, dead forever. There are no second chances, and if you miss out all you will have left is regret.

Memento mori
just now getting into the channel and i'm really loving it so far
I remember being pretty depressed for like a week after beating persona3. It actually felt like these characters you spent the game socializing and battling monsters with suddenly just died.
The mental state of wishing the fantasie to be real and the "depression" at it not beeing so might seem more common nowdays, but it is fairly old and already occured thousands of years ago. Just look for example at the story of Galatea. A greek myth where an artist is so dissatisfied with the realness of actual women, he asks the goddess Aphrodite to give life to his perfect sculpture.
True but it's all about relativity/scale. There's just so much MORE now. Not only is our fantasies literally limitless both in extremity and possibilities. But even in exagerrated reality with plastic surgery, make up, filters etc.
We're easier deluding ourselves with how immersive and prominent it is. Our whole environment (phone, society, social media) is engineered for these escapisms. Manga, anime, tv shows, video games, VR. Sex dolls, porn. Even the whole hiphop rappers/rich living the big life. We know it's "real" but it's impossibly out of reach for most of us, and yet we're obsessed with that fantasy life.
We're all stuck with coping in these delusions/fantasies, which makes us resentful and unappreciative of normal life. Unable to enjoy our own life in peace and contentment. Which makes us feel hopeless and useless to even try, thus mental illness/addictions/escapisms etc. Everyone is plugged straight into copium (cope opium)
I was gonna say delusional coping of the collective then someone has done it already ^^
@@JudicialBrat delusional coping of the collective is also as old as human culture itself, or how do you think religions came to be?
@@IISheireenII Fair enough. Not arguing as it is boring and wasting time, we all just want to be hedonist on some point to only feel acceptance and free.
sorta agree, but nowadays it's much more massive with advancement in tech,
IMO we became less and less grateful for what we could actually enjoy right now and our subsconcious demands more.
In short, the enjoyment of that little thing got overshadowed by our lust of escapism.
kinda made that enjoyment suddenly disappeared like it was never existed in the first place

wow, this is really deep, What really really hits is that he is right, This reality is happening quickly and is already becoming existent. Not sure how realistic some form of Nerve gear would be but I feel like it probably is very possible. Maybe nit in my lifetime but still possible. I don't like admitting it but if there really was world created that felt like real life except is idealistic I would not only find myself trapped in it I would very willingly allow myself TO be trapped in it. I am already at that point where everything around me bores me and I often fantasize being born in something like the Pokémon world. I would turn ten and venture out making friends with Pokémon and battling or any experience similar to that. And that is a very scary thought. The fact that I and and very large amount of people want and long for some sort of fictional reality to live in forever if they had the chance.
Pokemon world would be fantastic because or a kid became the champion of a region i think in less than a day or pokemons do not have the necesity to eat, but in the other hand some people would be obsessed with EV training and IV so much that they would make their pokemon suffer
And problems in this world would not ve a problem like starvation or the heat from co2 emmisions
I was going to write an essay about this, but honestly there is nothing to talk about, he talked about everything correctly, sure I have some opinions but this is probably the best video to express most.
No topic is ever truly "complete." I assure you that there is more to say on this topic. What is the history of escapism? What is the nature of escapism in the psychological, anthropomorphic, or sociological senses? What are your views on the ethics of escapist art, especially in our AI-driven world? What are the implications behind a reality-fantasy unity?
I encourage you to write that essay. There is always more to say.
"Without a nose, they can only breath through their mouths." But of course. This is why they almost always have their mouths wide open.
Oh wait, that's what the side mouths are for!
wait but what happens when they suck something
@@gnochhuos645 i wonder what they usually suck
@@gnochhuos645 ever noticed how they can talk while sucking that something? There’s your answer: they, somehow, are able to open parts of their mouths while sucking to breath and talk. Anime girls are a different species.

A lucid dream is probably gonna be a weeb’s heaven
I mean, who doesn't want a world you can control with your mind. Maybe not forever, but you can do alot more stuff then just "make out with cat girls" or something.
The sole problem being that lucid dreams aren't all that easy to have and us weebs are lazy
Ya know , I tend to remember all of my dreams, I could probably recall dreams I had 3 years ago , when I was younger all of my dreams included normal people that I have seen irl or made up ,but once I started watching anime , the animation of my dreams changed , all my dreams to this day are styled as anime characters and backgrounds even tho I’m not even a hardcore anime watcher 🧐

I like how he's using the word "cartoon" instead of "anime" deliberately.
I don't really mind that at all. But I think he did the right choice.
(it would've been annoying if he had to use different word every time he showed a different picture).
Anime is cartoons? Wym
ya, that's what I meant.
Anime is a Japanese word for animation. Just a different dialect of language and mistaken the original term for a style.
And he isn't wrong.
Of course not.

Im really young and i haven't left my country,
but i have seen so much diversity and beauty with the natural world and i don't just mean expensive trips to the bahamas or Hawaii. Just in my state, i was walking my dogs with my mom on the beach and there was a huge lightning storm really far out and it was so beautiful it made stop sit down in the sand and appreciate the world we live in. later that week i saw a sea turtle digging a nest in the sand. I have a deep love for sea turtles, so seeing one nest on the beach was so amazing I cant even put it into words. There are so many things we take for granted from earth and the course of events that set us to be where we are right now is unfathomable.
This could be a commercial for the metaverse

That was his plan all along. I thought this would be a detailed biology video, but that part is like only 10% of this video (exaggerated untested statistics)
Great video. I often find myself thinking about this stuff.
You know there are already a ton of interactive story models and right now, the models generating images from text inputs are getting better and better. I believe in a few years if not months, we will be able to trully go inside digital worlds.
