    I don’t have that at all... I have 2 plastic plates with rubber in between and the metal spur gear.

    I'm way new till this my e revo I think it's slipping because it's power doesn't respond as quickly anymore and it's two days old I'm running 2 cell lipo's at first I thought maybe a broken gear in one of my differentials or transmission but I don't understand how my clutch thing had worn out already and why does the motor have to have a spacing between the gears?

    Thank you very much man for the cool vid my first RC just got the Evo burnt gear out I think it was loose from the factory was on my second set of batteries how do you feel about a steel gear instead of plastic I put my spare one on there haven't ran it yet I know it's a smaller spur gear

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  10 лет назад

      no problem man. i ve been running a plastic gear for about 3 years now and im happy with it! I dont feel the need for a steel upgrade!

    hope your still active I have a few questions are there any negatives to having a steel spur gear I. just moved up to lipos and I see some shredded plastic witch I know for a fact is the spur I checked and where the screws are there are no holes just large groves and is there anything else I should change. besides the drive shaft to prepare for Lipo type powers hope to hear from you soon

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  7 лет назад +2

      I am still active I have made quite a few videos since this one lol! Check out my channel ruclips.net/channel/UCqPRkuVCNf5HyqrH1x30gkA And as far as the steel spur gear goes I will not run one. I have always run plastic spur gears as a failsafe for my transmission, the spur is the weakest point. The reason they will do this is due to slipper clutch adjustment If it is not adjusted properly to your driving style. This particular failure was due to excessive slipping and eventually overheating the plastic and melting. It was too loose and when I hit the throttle at any speed the slipper was always slipping (too loose). If its too tight you will be doing a lot of standing backflips and eventually drive train failure (axles, drive shafts, bearings, ect.). You should only hear the slipper clutch slip for about a foot or foot and a half after takeoff from a dead stop. Just listen to the car and adjust as necessary. If it sounds too loose it probably is and if you think its too tight, then it probably is. Make small adjustments and you will find the sweet spot.

    on the e revo what is the height of the spur gear

  • @eostrow1963
    @eostrow1963 9 лет назад

    mine clicks , could that be because i have a steel spur gear? sounds like that is where the sound is coming from.

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  9 лет назад

      +Eric Ostrowski could be steel spurs are noisy. if it clicks when your driving its probably a diff going

    I'm running some big tires on my brusless revo too, what spur gear number and pinion number do u recommend ?

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  10 лет назад

      depends if your running 4s or 6s lipo. I usually run 4s for general bashing and i like the 19t pinion and 54t spur. I recently did a video on performance differences between 4s 6s then changed out the spur gear and tried em out on 4s and 6s. but i like the 4s 19/54 for all around bashing! thanks for the comment.

      +Ricky Revo RC how did you dye them?

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  8 лет назад

      2 packets of Rit clothing dye! boil your water put the dye in the water and drop your parts in and let them sit until your happy with the color!

    What was the size of that gear? 65T? How to remove it without taking apart the diff? I think you video jump that part... any help?

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  8 лет назад

      I dont remember the size but in order to change the spur you have to remove all that stuff

  • @Garrysullivanjones

    Hey mate.
    I’ve been struggling to run my erevo for so long I’m nearly going throw it in the trash!
    So many destroyed clutch set ups including the metal plate that the pads fit onto.
    The metal they use does not hold up, mild alloy I don’t know.
    Have you heard of those clutch eliminator part ?
    It removes the slipper clutch altogether do you just screw the spur onto this eliminator piece, no slip! No pads , no need to buy more 30 dollar clutch kits!
    Is is too good to be true?
    I’m guessing it destroys other parts that are more expensive like diffs etc.
    Please let me know your opinion on this eliminator part.
    Also, do use traxxas slipper clutch or a better quality third party product?
    If so, what brand?
    Cheers

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  5 лет назад

      they burn up when they're too loose. I use traxxas slipper clutch. Running in water will damage the clutch too. I wouldn't recommend a center diff. you will destroy other parts. Snug the slipper down and back a half to 3/4 of a turn that's it and I recommend running 2 2s lipo's

    Hey mate I do I tell if my slipper clutch is gone or if it’s my gear box?

    • @RickyRevorc
      @RickyRevorc  6 лет назад

      Evan Browne tighten it up all the way and if it still slips it's no good. Or take it apart and inspect it.

    And this is where the losi 8ight t brushless wins over the e revo....no slipper clutch! Lol jk I actually wish it had a slipper to manage the power a bit nice vid man

      RickyRevo they are quite badass ha i have the 8ight t 2.0 brushless. It is a blast but don't do 6s brushless if you get one. It's way too much power. Go 4s if you go brushless with one

      lol thx for the tip man e revos are very similar.
