@@BlizzardWind99 yeah Im hyped for the gpx rainbow edition, oh and maybe a yellow or green one ? Im really excited for the new same ass mouse with a different color !
The reason it doesn't feel front heavy is because the balance point is relative to where you grip the mouse which in your case, further to the front. Everyone needs to start judging mouse balance by measuring it from where you grip the mouse. A lot of mice people say are unbalanced are actually perfectly balanced where the designers intended the mouse to be gripped. Great review Boardzy. I was going to buy the mouse and now I'm pretty sure I'm sitting this one out. I already have a Viper mini I modded with V2 pro internals that weights 52 grams with flawless mouse buttons. No wiggly clicks, or any pre travel with very minimal post travel. All fine tuned to feel solid af. There's just something about metal though.. But I must resist.
I mean literally all they need to do is copy and paste this design but with plastic and v2 pro specs and sell it for $100-$150 and people will go crazy
"were want lighter" "even if it has holes" "we don't mind paying 150+, if the tech is top tier" . Everyone told razer. Razer listened. They watched everyone not even complain about 150ish dav3 and gpx. Even if they did complain.., they still bought 3 of each..... They watched everyone buy final mice at well over that. This is a reflection of what they were told and saw for themselves. Don't be mad at them.
Unfortunate pricing on this one. Would have been willing to drop the typical 180 on this but I'll stick with my wired mini and a bungee. Sad. Good to hear that the specs are solid though. Will be looking out for sales in the future for sure. Or just wait for the plastic 50g range mouse. Love this mouse's shape.
@bluecost I was thinking the same thing, I just checked elo shapes and it has the same length, is 2mm lower, and 3mm thicker so very similar. On top of that it's 10g lighter and has 4k polling as well. Also the cutouts aren't anywhere near as annoying. If you don't want cutouts it's still only 42 grams. I already have the HTX and love it, returned my superlight for it. If you don't need or want the 4k then the normal 1k version is 40 bucks cheaper and is 36 grams with cutouts and 39 grams without. I think it's a pretty slept on mouse imo.
The new Razer Sensors, do truly feel like butter when playing, it's hard to explain to people who haven't used them. Like the best tracking. HOWEVER, $280 for those holes that may make your hand uncomfy, especially if you have smaller hands and pull it into your palm. Might not be worth it until they release a solid shell. So I 100% agree with your take. I think this is just more of a "Founder's Edition" launch. Then you will have the basic version, is at least what I am thinking. If they just leave it at this shape, it won't sell well. Other than enthusiasts.
It's nice it exists - there is a chance we will see viper mini pro or something like that (and deathadder of course). This is something many people are waiting for. Signature edition is something special and the price... is also special as well.
Magnesium is light and way stronger gram for gram, but the thing is that thixomolding magnesium is not the same as injection molding plastic. Thixomolding magnesium can't get to as thin walls as injection molding for plastic. So although it is stronger per unit mass, it can't be made with a complete shell because you can consistently make super thin plastic shells with ribs for stiffness. So that truly is a material limitation. You can make a mouse lighter than a plastic mouse with it (because you can thixomold features like with plastic), but you won't get a solid shell without it being much heavier. So Mg is a material that simply won't be solid shell unless there's big advances in the molding of it.
In 2023, i would prefer mouse that has cutouts at the bottom of the shell instead of the back. Even if this is sold at a more affordable price, it is still a pass to me.
Honestly I think you’re right. They need to make it a full case, even if it’s just over 50g. Also I don’t need the 4k polling and the whole boxing excess. I saw a comment saying $150 is a good price and they’re absolutely right. -full case -perfect the side buttons please -lose 4k polling Then I’m sold
Right? How much does the leather case, glass feet and dongle add to that ridiculous price tag? There's now way it has to be this expensive, Razer could have definitely made it fall in Finalmouse range at least
I'm gonna be honest, I've been waiting for the Razer Viper Mini Wireless/Pro for SOOOO long. I just wanted a Viper M with wireless and an upgraded top of the line sensor.. really shocked that this was what took so long to release.. I'm not a fan of the whole honeycomb trend, I'd rather have an extra couple grams than the holes.. and I hate myself for it but I'm probably going to buy it anyways just because I have VERY SMALL hands, and I literally don't have a mouse I like that fits my hands.. currently using a Viper Pro which is too big for me but bc of the flat back I can "choke up" on the mouse with my fingertip grip, there's just not another flat top of the line mouse that I like the shape of but that also fits me. I've never been able to secure a finalmouse small mouse since they have crazy small drops and every other small mouse is either a bulbous shape I can't use with my grip style or it's just a cheap budget mouse like the orignall Viper mini that doesn't have true wireless or the best sensor On a side note I was super stoked when I heard about the Shroud G303 but then they went and made it so much wider which is the worst possible thing for me bc my hands are small and I can deal with extra length if the mouse is flat enough but width just makes it feel bulky and uncontrollable.. so that wasn't a viable option for me either even tho I used to love the old g303
Wow, they used same material as finalmouse and put huge holes in the viper mini and still weights 49 grams?? The regular viper is 58 grams.. and finalmouse’s new mouse is going to be 29 grams. And this mouse cost $280?? Razer lost their damn minds. This is the worst product they ever released.
I received mine last week. No QC issues with mine, side buttons are solid, no wobble. Overall I love the mouse, definitely my new main. Biggest downside is the battery, even at 2K it needs to be charged every other night. Not the worst thing ever, but worse than what I'm used to. The holes don't bug me too much, though I would have loved a solid shell. Hopefully this mouse is good enough that it'll curb my purchasing so I can stop looking for my endgame lol. I ended up gifting my buddy a few mice yesterday, two for him and one for his gf. So long Viper V2 Pro, Pulsar X2, and Coolermaster MM712!
Honestly really disappointing to see razer didn't get what people loved about the viper mini wired; a low priced, amazing shape and light mouse with a solid shell. they somehow completely misunderstood their entire assignment and just released a SUPER high priced, high end, super light mouse (with huge holes which is honestly concerning). This could've been much much greater...
Personally anything pass 80 - 90$ for a mouse is not worth it. Ever since I started using the MM712 from Cooler Master it definitely shifted my perspective on spending more on a mouse. But still for 280$?? that's just abit too much.
Yup most ive ever spent on a mouse is £85, why anyone would spend £150-£280 on a mouse is beyond me especially when there are options like the Pulsar X2, Lamzu Atlantis and Ninjutso Sora which are just as good if not better for much less!
In Europe you can get the v2 pro and the DAv3 and pay less than you would pay for a single viper mini wireless. Good job razer! Nice of you that you want to give lamzu and pulsar a little boost...
Who will pay $280 for a mouse and that would be crazy. I think they are making a normal or non signature edition for less money. It might cost $80 or $90 for normal viper mini wireless.
This mouse is made out of magnesium which is pretty good. (Not for the price) Mice like finalmouse starlight 12 is made out of magnesium. İ dont know if you should spend 280 dolars on a razer mouse (probably not)
8:14 Good to know, I subjectively feel 10ms in latency while moving the screen around be it from operating system or sensor is an insane difference, it feels like going from 144 - 240hz. ^God damn it I feel myself getting excited about this stuff again, it's cool but so shallow once you have a decent setup. 9:18 Interesting other people build this habit so easily, I would need to specifically setup the cue. Do I just need to go for it just say fuck it I'm throwing habits at the wall and seeing what sticks and have a day/set of potential times on a day each week where I have habits I am towards?
Can't wait for a "regular" Viper Mini Wireless. I've been using the Pwnage Symm 2 that I got during last BF for cheap "...value on gaming mice, very complicated. One of the world's top issues..." ~ boardzy (2023)
The addons are Skates will roughly be $15, Glass skates $30 Gripes $15 Dongle is $40 Base model is $30 So that adds into about $130 I guess it's like $150 for the new tech/design/materials Still feel it's over priced, but it's Razer. Abit worrying if the side buttons wobble that much though. A V2Pro and Dav3 had such nice and tactile side buttons.
Bought a Viper Mini for 39€, lightened to 54 grams without any aesthetical compromise, fixed LOD and sensor ring. A budget beast. This is definitely NOT the Viper Mini we all was waiting for…
Razer was so close. Now they’ve shown they can still be completely out of touch when it comes to marketing to the kinds of people who would buy a viper mini wireless.
I sure do love when a mouse goes from £20 to £280 ($340usd) Let's hope the actual normal wireless mini gets released soon... Also can someone explain why there aren't any pbt mice? I know they'd be heavier but pbt is just such a step-up from abs and I assume magnesium suffers from feeling disgusting after long use as well
I wish I liked the Viper mini shape, but I prefer flatter sides. After a couple minutes of using the viper mini, I start hating how the front fares feel.
Mouse manufacturers are catching on to what other companies are doing (Nvidia for example) and going for it. Don't buy this unless you want every mouse to go up in price.
Ah yes. a whooping 280$ mouse that is heavier than a lot of the mouses + manholes all over the surfaces so that you can insert your pp when you miss headshots with this daughseit
I know its a different model than the viper mini, it's a flagship mouse. It makes sense. It's their most successful shape besides technically the deathadder, but we all know this one is better.
I cant wait until people go back to 80g mice after they realize that theyll play one game better, or maybe break a personal best score with a 50g mice; but when it comes to gameplay, most people are much more consistent with a heavier mouse. Literally back on the OG G pro and it's the most consistent i've been.
i just don't get how its only 49g, i feel like if you put viper v2 internals into a viper mini shell it gets to like 55g so ur telling me that years of engineering + magnesium + big ass holes only made it like 6g lighter?
Well its not a huge mystery , Viper Mini didn't have battery. If this had really small battery the battery life would be horrible due to the 4k polling rate and optical switches both draining it quickly.
@@lepari9986 yeah but viper v2 also has a battery lol, i feel like viper v2 internals + battery in a viper mini shell + holes should be less than 49g but what do i know
@Adil yeah but Viper v2 pro weighs in at 59g. And magnesium is strong but not particularly light material. ABS aka plastic is actually lighter than this material.

49g? what the fuck man, we got 70% of a mouse with that much holes and even barely below 50, that's messed up
Gamers: "we want a viper mini with no wire"
Razer: Takes a business trip to Cybertron
Who will pay $280 for a mouse and that would be crazy. I think they are making a normal or non signature edition for less money. It might cost $80 or $90 for normal viper mini wireless.
3:43 Finally someone said it: "49g.If you think that's heavy, that's actually like... stupid."
Magnesium is heavier than plastic, you just need a lot less of it to be lighter while being significantly more durable and stronger.
This mouse is made out of magnesium which is pretty good. (Not for the price) Mice like finalmouse starlight 12 is made out of magnesium. İ dont know if you should spend 280 dolars on a razer mouse (probably not)
I guess I’m sticking with the Gwolves HTX Ace for now. $280 is a hard price to swallow.
Also the 36g for a small full size mouse feels nuts.
The first real review about this mouse
A huge bang for your buck to a slight pop for a king’s ransom
asking 280 for this is just outrageous, if you buy this you have issues fr
0:07 exactly the way I'll unbox it as well LMAO
G WOLVES HTX 4K, 39 GRAMS.
There’s probably going to be a 150 version with no holes and just basic cable and dongle like the viper v3 and new DA
The way the mouse just got threw out the box 😂
If I was given the 'hyper polling' 4K dongle, FREE, I literally would not use it - this is not a joke.
Why
This is it, after Board man begging for the viper mini, and then 8 seconds into the vid the mouse falls off from the box. Never fails to shock us istg
Not my Viper Mini Wireless. The waiting room continues (Waiting for plastic "Pro" version without holes).
They took the "holes will make it lighter" part wayyy too seriously
The giant holes on that back are just like wtf were they thinking imo
Mouse looks like some dude at razer paid a supercomputer company for 5 weeks worth of topology optimisation simulations on the topshell alone.
07:50 aside from the side button, questional hole design (YOU FORGOT TO ADD $280 PRICE POINT)
Haven’t been this shocked in a while!
i see that pincher claw grip :) welcome to the fam
Can't wait for a "regular" Viper Mini Wireless. I've been using the Pwnage Symm 2 that I got during last BF for cheap
"...value on gaming mice, very complicated. One of the world's top issues..." ~ boardzy (2023)
When I have my performace review for work and I need to argue a raise I can say computer mice now cost $300, eggs are $15. 2023 is starting off wild.
XM2W if it releases under summer it will be #1 mouse for 2023-2025 specially if it enables 2 - 4k hz polling rate out of the box.
Why they changed shapes from full shell into hollow one?
The addons are
Skates will roughly be $15,
Glass skates $30
Gripes $15
Dongle is $40
Base model is $30
So that adds into about $130
I guess it's like $150 for the new tech/design/materials
Still feel it's over priced, but it's Razer.
Abit worrying if the side buttons wobble that much though. A V2Pro and Dav3 had such nice and tactile side buttons.
The way he instantly drops the 280 dollar mouse at the beginning 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What does the signature edition stand for, am I signing a down payment and a mortgage for 3 years?
Razer has no idea what made the viper mini so great.
That price is insane
The wait for the hole-less version continues
Bought a Viper Mini for 39€, lightened to 54 grams without any aesthetical compromise, fixed LOD and sensor ring. A budget beast. This is definitely NOT the Viper Mini we all was waiting for…
Razer was so close. Now they’ve shown they can still be completely out of touch when it comes to marketing to the kinds of people who would buy a viper mini wireless.
I sure do love when a mouse goes from £20 to £280 ($340usd)
Let's hope the actual normal wireless mini gets released soon...
Also can someone explain why there aren't any pbt mice? I know they'd be heavier but pbt is just such a step-up from abs and I assume magnesium suffers from feeling disgusting after long use as well
its metal
just wipe off the grime
I wish I liked the Viper mini shape, but I prefer flatter sides. After a couple minutes of using the viper mini, I start hating how the front fares feel.
Mouse manufacturers are catching on to what other companies are doing (Nvidia for example) and going for it. Don't buy this unless you want every mouse to go up in price.
This just feels like Razer covering the R&D of magnesium alloy with a special edition they know will sell out instantly
Love the webcam!
It looks cool, I hope other brands will also start making magnesium mice. My starlight 12 Tenz feels dated compared to this.
Ah yes. a whooping 280$ mouse that is heavier than a lot of the mouses + manholes all over the surfaces so that you can insert your pp when you miss headshots with this daughseit
I know its a different model than the viper mini, it's a flagship mouse. It makes sense. It's their most successful shape besides technically the deathadder, but we all know this one is better.
Ultralight Mice: *exist*
Razer Exec: THIS IS JUST LIKE MY GERMAN PORSCHES!
I cant wait until people go back to 80g mice after they realize that theyll play one game better, or maybe break a personal best score with a 50g mice; but when it comes to gameplay, most people are much more consistent with a heavier mouse. Literally back on the OG G pro and it's the most consistent i've been.
I'm still using the 2004 G5 laser mouse from logitech. The one with the adjustable weight
🤗
i just don't get how its only 49g, i feel like if you put viper v2 internals into a viper mini shell it gets to like 55g so ur telling me that years of engineering + magnesium + big ass holes only made it like 6g lighter?
Well its not a huge mystery , Viper Mini didn't have battery. If this had really small battery the battery life would be horrible due to the 4k polling rate and optical switches both draining it quickly.
@@lepari9986 yeah but viper v2 also has a battery lol, i feel like viper v2 internals + battery in a viper mini shell + holes should be less than 49g but what do i know
@Adil yeah but Viper v2 pro weighs in at 59g. And magnesium is strong but not particularly light material. ABS aka plastic is actually lighter than this material.
Top 10 truly shocking moments on Boardzys YT.
Mouse inflation is crazy
