Hi Mr Ranger. Great video. I think I have an issue with this part. Do you know if the issue with PCV valve can cause a hissing sound and idling / stalling problem? Many thanks
Little late on this but this is due to the intake. I had a rip on my intake, right before the MAF sensor. It didn’t throw any codes or anything like that. But I did always get a jerk from around 2k-3k rpm as well as the car stalling shortly after starting.

perfect I had searched google youtube for days and found this video, but a question which is the one that goes to the engine I want to put an oil catch tank
Also remember these engines are gdi engines meaning that if the crankcase builds up too much pressure vaccum suction from excess pressure will go directly into the intake system and carbonize the intake valves and then later on you will have big problems with your engines (oil burning) and worst this Pcv is cheap maintenance just don’t be a cheap ass and go to Napa ,autozone ,Oreileys always use factory parts period
The factory Oem Pcv does not come with a seal washer but the washer is the same as the oil drain plug washer it has the same part number after market Pcv valve might come with a washer but after market parts are all garbage and will cause problems later on with oil leaks as they are not factory calibrated as the Oem the Pcv valve is designed to relieve pressure in the engines crankcase
Thanks for the videos. Could this valve cause “check emission System” check engine light on a civic 2014? I have replace several times in my car but it stills showing this system light.
I am not a mechanic, but I am pretty sure that Gasoline gets into the oil crankcase because pistons won't seal 100% as they move up and down. If you didn't have a PCV setup, the gas would degrade the oil and you would get worse fuel economy. With a PCV valve, the gas that gets past the piston rings and goes into the oil is vapourized and gets sent back into your engine's intake system by way of the PCV valve. Your oil is saved and your gas mileage is saved.
If you change oil on a lawnmower, which I dont believe has a PCV valve, you will notice gasoline inside your oil that has gotten past the piston rings and is sitting in the lawnmower's engine. Not good, but since it is just a lawnmower, not a big deal. In a car though, it is a big deal.
If you beat the crap out of your car you'll blow out seals, gaskets and such faster, so it may just be squirting oil all over the block. Replace the belt anyway, it's probably due if it's over 50,000 miles of beating the crap out of it.
