- The prefab home industry currently has some amazing options available for people in the market for homes built off site. A general question I see in the comments quite frequently on my videos pertains to how homes built offsite will hold up to different types of weather. Boxvana caught my attention with their structural insulated panels that are said to be hurricane proof and can withstand the climates a lot of people are looking for homes in. Watch out with Boxvana, they filed for Ch 11 bankruptcy on Aug 2nd. They also sold equipment that wasn't theirs.
Check out incredible tiny homes, "incedi-box" , same material for 25,000 dollars for an 8x16 starter!!
Finally houses without huge windows. Nice to see some hurricane resistant houses.

We visited their facility a few months. Currently waiting for a price with our blueprints. They were working on a large home that was going to ship to the Bahamas. Very impressive builds

@@johnvowell6348 we toured a few of their tiny units and their facility. They offer upgrades (granite countertops, heated floors, etc) I think they offer a quality product. They also haver a few different wall thicknesses (4", 6" & 8"). I'm anxious to get a cost for our blueprints.

A lot of persons don’t realize their camp trailer s are meant for that. Not living in long term.I have friend found out hard way. Just not sound enough. She had high cost to fix. Affordable prefabs do have price points cheaper than moving into some pre owned homes you have to upgrade. Thanks for transparency

This channel is so iconic in the affordable housing space. Whenever I go on an online mental tangent researching prefab affordable homes, I’m going to refer to it as getting “Kerry’d away” 😂

They make claims about it being hurricane proof, but no evidence of testing or certification. Same for the "certified" park models. What certification? ANSI, RVIA? No details. Great prices, interesting designs. I don't see how the park models on wheels could be hurricane proof. At least not without some heavy duty hurricane straps. I'd like to see the 3rd party testing and certifications that back up their claims. When a company starts making bold claims about being this and that proof, eco-friendly, and on and on with very little information available on the website to back those claims, my skepticism kicks in. I hope they can back up those claims, as these are definitely hitting the affordable range for a lot of people.
They also filed for ch 11 bankruptcy on Aug 2nd in KY. Not looking like a company I want to be relying on for any kind of serious purchase.
@@thentil thanks, I was reading about that after you mentioned it. Looks like they have a major cash flow issue. They owe their landlord, IRS, and other creditors.
I like your favorite, too--because of the roof line. This will be an interesting company to follow, if they keep their prices in that affordable range.
Going to have to Google this LitePan stuff. Hope it’s not carcinogenic/doesn’t off gas something awful.
Love the designs and the proofs.
I would love to see any prefab homes with at least a one-car garage. Car insurance companies will give great discounts to those who keep their car garaged. Attached garage would be best.
Joseph check out Kerry's last video because a couple of models had 1 car garages. These were my favorite modular homes to date - very sleek and beautiful - the garage on each was perfect!

This builder looks pretty promising though, it would be great if there was some clarification on how far they'll deliver outside of Kentucky and if they would help workout the permitting you'd need in the area you're planning to move the house to.
They deliver all over the US. Not sure on permitting.

Would like to know what the material Litepan is made with? I worry about out gassing of the matertial and breathing toxic air inside the Boxvana modular. Other than that concern the Freeport looks fantastic and would be a consideration for me.
Can you please make a video on what it takes to get a home setup on an empty lot. Let's say I buy 10 acres somewhere on the country side. I guess I need power, solar or a generator. I need a septic tank and a well. Can I hook these things up to the house?
I think you need to make a live spreedsheet of all the companies, locations, prices, ect. Hard to keep all of these companies straight. Keep up the great work. You are my first check whenever getting on here!!!!!!

Hi Terry, Apparently Boxvana filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in August, 2022. Glad I found this out before purchasing the Abaco. Your comments\ thoughts? Do I write this company off? Looks as if there's a big red flag here. Barbara

🤔 Boxvana needs to show us videos of their prefab lab in simulated hurricane and earthquake conditions. It's not great if the owners are the ones actually doing the testing when hurricanes/earthquakes hit.

Hey Kerry, I love this video, have watched it a bunch of times. The idea of hurricane proof is awesome, and the price is fair. But one thing is missing in this video, and as far as I can see on their website, they never mention Gold Fortification status…can you circle back and advise if they can be Gold Fortified? Makes a huge difference in insurance if they can get these certificates.
Yes kerry I too wouldn't know whether or not these homes can live up to the incline weather we've been getting it's not just enough to say what they are or do but they really need to be in real life testing yes in a factory they can blow as much wind or they can blow as much earthquakes but it's the real things it's a truck coming at 110 miles per hour being blown in a tornado it's a fire that trees have collapsed it's earthquake that really swallows everything on top like cars and sink holes that causes your cars are houses to slide down mountains this to me is real proof not just saying it but putting these houses in surreal events and then tell us how they fur I know in China they got this capsule houses they're extremely beautiful and they say they can do the same thing protect from hurricanes tornadoes earthquakes fires and yet the only thing I've seen them in is rain and snow and that still is not a true test of Mother's Nature's Fury so Carrie I know I would like to challenge your channel to reach out to these companies with real tornado earthquake volcano flood sinkholes and see how they fear on the real conditions of stuff hitting your home my one thing would be it may cost the company a little bit of money but I think putting a home in all the areas in which these catastrophic events have occurred let's see if they can withstand Tornado Alley let's see if they can handle Florida's 15 in underwater let's see if they can handle New York City's frozen Arctic let's see if they can handle your family Sam's in California I believe fire or Australia's fire How do they serve them I hope you read this message kerry to really give us a run for our money

I like some of the look the other ones that have more of the architectural design with glass walls and stuff like that appeal to me more but the hurricane proofing fireproofing all the proofing is in the pudding sort of speak there is a building in my town that has two football fields wide and long that I wonder if one of the companies would want to purchase it or lease it to start here
