    General rule for Williams string spammers the 2nd hit is mostly high or low. Hold df for the 2nd hit. If it's a high ws punish it if it's low you will low parry it. But like tmm said it's hard online.

    TMM you say this, but I feel this applies to Hwoarang too. Most Hwoarangs I encounter online (around Fujin) lack the fundamentals they're supposed to have on that level, because he's got 100+ spammable strings, infinites, and insane pressure. Learning the Hwo match up if T7 is your first Tekken is worse than both Williams in my opinion.

      Hwo is a very versatile character and actually very good fundamental tools for poking jabs db3 df1 , good mid and high ch launchers with b4 and f1+2, if a hwo player goes into flamingo with jabs or df1, you can disrespect but you have to pick the right move for the situation, like if they go for lows or hell sweep you can jab, df1, ss, dickjab, hopkick, or ch launch, you can sidestep his mids reliably but watch out for powercrush, if the hwo use d34 to start pressure its best to get a read when the will do the string and just low parry. When playing against hwos without fundamentals they tend to do unsafe shit be impatient and hang themselves, so sidesteps on his ff4 kill them, also being careful of his b3 as hwos will throw that out with no issue, a scary hwo is a hwo with a good throw game, fundamentals, and good use of plus frames

    • @theyoungmensclub8798
      @theyoungmensclub8798 4 года назад +6

      Hwo really based his offense off of basically 1 move d3,4 a couple of others but that’s how he gets in to his fla stance while both of these characters have strings that end plus on block. Truth is if your letting hwo just string you along the whole game your just letting him get away with a lot of stuff because most of his stuff from stance can be sidewalked, ducked, or is a really see able low. You don’t need as much technical skill to fight against hwo like you do here.

      AlphonsePride lol okay. Clearly you don’t play tekken. Everyone knows that they lack range so they have to be close to their opponents to play right. Nina has better range tho. But Anna is literally the worst in tekken when it comes to range.

      Not my Nina ha! I will literally poison mist you while moving forward. Once you master or have a good grasp of the unique ss1 movement you can intimidate your opponent from rushing in and stop them from running away at least with Nina. Anna who I play religiously can also move forward with qcf and she can chaos judgement cancel forward also as well as roll to you into her full crouch power crush mid that’s -14. They have ways to approach you while charging special direction inputs at higher ranks. Spacing them out is good but you can be chased down.

Also note that her ff343 can clip you trying to sidestep with its long range as well. df12 to keep you honest and df12 into high or mid mixup to check your mu knowledge. Her qcf 1 is a high ch launcher that is around +2 on block and on whiff it recovers faster than an electric as well. Good for going in or keepout

I honestly wouldn't mind if they got nerfed. Make it so the last two hits of the can opener aren't natural and the 3rd hit of the easy prey string can be interrupted by jabs. • @Asaba32
    @Asaba32 4 года назад +6

    As an Anna player, yeah, I will say that it takes a while for people to realize you can side walk and duck almost all of her strings after the first hit or whatever the jailing strikes are.
    For example, one of her best strings for keeping distance is df3,3,3 which can end in 4 for a high knockdown or nothing to maintain distance. You can just duck the 4 if she ever presses it. And she is actually -10, so if she tries to mix it up by doing df2 to catch you ducking you can CH her with almost anything.
    The reason Anna is low on a lot of tier lists is because the people making them assume you know the matchup and that she doesn't great options in neutral, or standard launch at 15f.
    However, if she gets started on her pressure and you don't know what's going on, she gets incredible damage if you learn her crouch cancel Chaos Judgement or WS3, CJM combos into qcf1, while also having great oki in terms of reward if she is right.
    If she is wrong in most of her situations, however, she just dies. Playing Anna safe doesn't yield great rewards in the long term because she often pushes herself outside of range 0 and range 1 or they just backdash out of pressure, so you end up playing russian roulette and either winning big or dying hard.
    Most people ignore Anna though, so they don't realize how unsafe she is and get overwhelmed by just...things happening.

      @@tylersadx yep. Stepping left is her kryptonite. Heck, being slightly off axis will make her combos drop half the time.
      The more you play Anna, the more you realize she just kinda sucks, but has really high damage, so she can delete you really fast. However, she has no real panick buttons other than hellsweep, and if they're mashing mids on you, Anna can't escape that like Claudio can by just hop kicking.
      Her punishment is also awful until frame 14, where she has way too many punish options that need to be moved to frame 13 or 12 because she has nothing at those punishment speeds that reaches significantly or does any appreciable damage.

    Anna has terrible power crashes, her range of attack is super-short, Dragunov's punches have more range than Anna's kicks. Anna is super-unsafe, wall bounces are unusable, she is very weak against sidestep. She doesn't have fast launchers and her main launchers work only on counter-hit. Half of her moves has Claudio and another half with improvements has Law. If you play against blind people who have fake TGP rank, it's not Anna problem.

    They have great mixups and pokes that can catch you off guard if you aren’t paying attention or slow to react. Lastly, if you get their cancels down especially Nina’s you can take them to the next level with their tricks, mixups and pressure. Add in some chain grapples which are sadly easy to break for some reason and throws as well.

    Here we go again. We've been over this before. You discussed this many times before in your other videos trying to downplay Nina players. You didn't talk about Anna before, but you talked about Nina. Nina is way harder to win with online and in person than Anna is. Yes, Anna's db3 sweep is pretty ridiculous, but so are a lot of other snake edges. Anna also has some other cheap things that you fail to go over like d41 CAT into +1 frames on hit and her mixups from CAT stance. Anna is WAY easier to win with online and in person than Nina is, so yes it is offensive that you put them in the same category. They're 2 totally different characters in terms of difficulty. Anna also doesn't require a lot of execution, while Nina does, but that's another topic.
    Now let's talk about the points you discussed in your video. Nina and Anna both have d343 and d341, respectively. The last hit on Anna's can be side stepped to her right, but one thing you got wrong about Nina is that it can't be stepped to her right. It actually can be stepped in both directions. You just didn't step far enough. You need to side walk. You say that only high level players will do this, which is correct, BUT I've fought many low level players online that ducked the 2nd hit and launched punished me. In season 1, people were ducking and punishing that in the yellow ranks. Come on now, TMM...it's not that hard for most people. Again, there's a huge difference in the level of competition in the UK compared to the level of competition in America. Most American players online are good against the Nina. d32 is not a good mixup because it's still very punishable at -13. df34_3+4_4 are not spammable either. Most players I've played online have ducked the 2nd hit and launched me for even trying it. The can opener is the only one that a lot of players get hit by, but again, here in America, once you make it to the blue ranks and beyond, most players block the 2nd hit and punish. Two totally different experiences. Even if the 2nd and 3rd hit connect, it's does a tiny amount damage. It's plus frames afterward, but the opponent is pushed so far away, I don't get what the problem is. Nina doesn't have any good follow-ups or flow charts after it connects. I'm not sure about Anna. I don't use her like that. Literally everything Nina does afterward is very unsafe. It's the same thing with d343. Yeah, it's +2 on block but so what? She doesn't have any good flow charts when it's blocked. Everything she does is very unsafe. A lot of players reverse the last hit, or they duck the 2nd hit and launch punish it. Nina's wipe the floor is extremely punishable on block, and she has to be ducking to do it, which makes it easy for some people to see. Even if the wtf does connect, it doesn't do a lot of damage on regular hit, nor does it have any juggle potential. It has to CH to juggle. Kazuya can do an instant hell sweep into a juggle at the wall, which is crazy.
    It just seems like you're picking on the Williams sisters, and you're picking on the people who use them. Generally speaking, they're weak characters in comparison to a lot of other characters. They're nowhere near as good as Kazuya, for instance. Kazuya can do the same 5 or 10 moves over and over again and get TGP. Hellsweep, electric, axe kick, ws2, twin piston to launch almost every low on block, f4 from a very long distance to CH, db4, etc. With Nina and Ann, you have to learn and master a lot more than that. You think otherwise, though, because your competition in the UK is pretty terrible against the Williams sisters. They don't know how to punish anything that the Williams sisters do. It's totally different in America. As I said before, if you were playing the way you do with the Nina, but you were doing it here in America, you would not make it out of the red or ruler ranks. It's a totally different level of competition.

      @@drestreaming8153 not necessarily never but rarely which most online players have even in TGP which tmm has proved, the same thing applies to lei who also has alot of mixups and low playrate and even tgp players struggle against him (including tmm btw). Tmm also demonstrated that even if you have the character knowledge online delay makes it really hard to counter them, the williams's and lei are also his 3 characters hes reached TGP the fastest with and most effortlessly and I wouldn't say tgp players have no fundamentals

    14:57 Given the mid is slower than the low, I think youre mentally expected to block low but react to the mid in case she goes for that option.

    Even Anna judgment stance that gives her a fast hard hitting two piece low that is natural combo and can be mixed up by mids ....these characters are absolutely ridiculous and must be renovated for balancing....too lazy

    Anna is very duckable and punishable, although she doesn't have to go for low moves as much as people think she should... Conditioning is key...
    I never ever ever used can opener though... Anna is very fun to play once you get to know her more than just a string spamming character :) Take a look at how Fran or Tv-Nihia plays her...
    PS : that ff+3 from CJM is such a good move ;-)

  • @celoratz
    @celoratz 4 года назад +2

    sorry main man, but william sisters are NOT more broken/unfair to play against than the Mishimas you play with. also you don't need to be high level to duck jab/launch df+3 strings, low parry uf+4,3,4 or sidestep d+3,4,3. It's just something new players need to learn to play against, same as, for example, low parrying junkyard.

    GOD that snake edge is annoying. I was playing as marduk against an Anna and it turned out I can barely react to her snake edge because her dress hides her legs and even if I managed to do that, I got a i13 ws 4 for like 20 dmg at most, launching option ws3 is i18 and i12 u/f 1,2 gets high crushed cuz she's crouching......
