Hi i have a question i have a 2014 fiat 500l lounge 4doors with a dualclutch automatic transmission but there are too many problems with this transmission. Can i swap it with a 2015 is a normal transmission i need some advice please
Glad I left mine stock lol I have literally none of your issues only slight oil burn when I drive the hell out of it maybe a 3rd to half a quart between changes. u still have this thing?
I got it dialed in and ended up making about 300whp and drove it up to 104k miles with no issues. I recently sold it to get a boss 302 sadly. Kinda wish I kept it and had both cars
@@purezagarage7046 wow!it's amazing how much power the lil thing is capable of making. And si I will learn from you and keep it. I have my r1 for speed, abarth for all around driving enjoyment. Bet that Stang moves tho! Cheers amigo
You must drive the automatic.... there is so much action going on around around my window switches it takes less effort to hit them where they're at by the shifter than it would if they were on the door....
I am looking at buying one of these, I currently drive a 2013 500 Turbo (which they don't make anymore D:) which does buck a bit in first gear, but if I turn sport mode off it's fine. I usually just keep sport mode on but clutch in when doing below 8 mph or so, giving a bit of gas when needed to maintain speed, and no bucking. Is this the same in the Abarth? Also I'm wondering about the reliability, my Turbo was in the shop quite a bit, reoccurring issues with the windows not going up, side skirt's adhesive failing in this Florida humidity, stock Pirelli tires lasting ~10,000 miles tops, rear windshield wiper fluid nozzle leaking down the windshield, tachometer needle sticking in 97+ degree heat (every day from may-november here) requiring car restart which usually doesn't work, front badge adhesive failing and falling completely off on a 100+ degree rainy day, and some other issues including a vent clip I broke myself, but literally everything was covered by the warranty (except tires).
boltentoke I was actually looking at a sport turbo at the dealership and then just decided to go all out. The bucking situation is the same in the abarth pretty much, except it's a little worse. Haven't had any major problems with it at all, it's been super reliable, just burns a bit of oil through the turbo. But yeah, I have the same issue with the rear wiper fluid nozzle. It leaks when I drive the car really hard haha
Heh on a full-ish fluid tank, even after an entire unit replacement, the rear nozzle still leaks when I really get on it. I think the issue of badges/sideskirt/windows are due to the heat and humidity where I live in the tropics of Southwest Florida... where are you from? I think the adhesive just straight up wore/dried out in the weather here, and the rubber seals on the windows got really stiff and dried out likely due to the sun, last time they even replaced & oiled them lol, so when I try to put the windows up they go up a bit then get stuck. I think tomorrow I'm going in to counter offer on the car :D Would you mind telling me the monthly payments or anything? I got a decent deal on the 500 Turbo and was at $298 a month but I think I'm looking at 100-150 more per month in this :\
It feels like it's bucking because you're not using the gearbox correctly. 2nd gear for anything rolling or above. First should only ever be used for take off. Also, it's no wonder the reliability sucks - It's a Fiat.
I have every complaint you have with the car, and the cabriolet acts like it just does not want to be there- it's already jumped track and it's only got 13K miles.
Nah, the multiair is prone to burning oil, not only are there oil purge reservoirs on the multiair head but there's also oil squirters on the hydraulic intake rollers that connect to the springs & squirters underneath each piston. It's not a sealed engine unit.
Your diffuser and splitter on your Abarth. I want it haha. What's it made out of? Do you have blue prints or plans for it or just free hand it? . .. Possibly your canards as well haha
dtb_abarth The splitter and canards are made of strong sheet metal and the diffuser is abs plastic. Overall it wasn't that heavy but I wanted the front splitter to be sturdy cause I knew it would get beaten up and scraped
"...this thing billows smoke like a damn choo-choo train...", Okay Einstein, I have a hunch that, like the petrol smell, this is because you cocked it up.
Serious question... Did you get much of a power gain by decatting? I just picked up a new Abarth and I was curious as to the power gain. (also, did it help the sound?)
Mister Geer when I first installed it, I did notice that it felt like the turbo spools faster and that the engine revs more freely. Before the tune, I didn't feel much of an actual power gain. After the tune though, I really felt the difference. With the downpipe, there was a huge top end power gain

So you hate all the modifications you made to the car????
lol
hhahahahaah
That's what you get when you mod your car for the track. Live and learn.
Exactly. What a tool.
Almost everything you hate, you did to the car by messing with it. Hate your choices.

It takes you 20-25 mins to put your seatbelt on? That’s just sad.
#1 I don’t like about my 2017 abarth is the power window switch.gets me all the time.
Ramon Quiray lol good point. I completely forgot about that. You have to awkwardly claw it to reach both at the same time
It doesn't make a difference you dope.
mac daddy nah brah

If you are going through a quart or more of oil between oil changes and it smokes you've ruined the engine
1:28 what did you hit?? lol
boltentoke it was a bump in the road haha. It looked way bigger on camera
I realized that after I watched the rest of the video lol, bumpy ride with those springs man dam, what ones did you get?
Mabe it smokes B/C your wrecked the engine. "Hi, I'm a racecar driver, and over rev the motor".
Hi. What's the cage you have mounted behind the seats? Where did you get it? Thanks!

the p nero is sporty tires. they won't last. i would recomment yokohama s drive. good combo of grip and milage.

you should see how fast I've learned to sling that key back and forth!
Haha luckily I've only stalled in traffic once or twice, but it is definitely inconvenient!
"Choo-choo train hoopty hatchback" hahahah made my day.
Just buy yourself a 1994 dodge caravan. You will like it. It will suit you. Hahaha!
I also hate first gear but that's pretty much the only thing I hate
Mario Diaz lol it sucks huh? Other than that, I absolutely adore the car
It's not broken, it just burns $50-$70 of oil a month?! Seriously. Either your rings or your stem seals need doing.
Chris Gibson no I spend 50-70 a month on oil. That includes oil changes since I have to change it about once a month

hahahahahaha that's mad funny u said ur neighbors stare into ur soul hahahaha that's an ordeal hahaha intense

Mister Geer I wish I was smart like you. I thought it was cause I don't have cats or a scavenger pump, but I guess you're right!

Mister Geer as far as the sound, it's pretty loud on a cold start, but after it warms up, it sounds really good
Great. Thanks for the info. Will post a link for my Abarth as soon as I get the exhaust done. -Take Care

Dope video! I should've done a "10 things" on my channel!
Why so whiny?
luv fiat...
That' not the 500 fiat abarth isn' that the 659 biposto abarth? That car is letarly track mode that's why you smell like gas
sam v I wish it was! Started off as a bone stock abarth and then I modded it like crazy lol. The cat less downpipe is why it stinks lol
Holly crap you moded it like that that's crazy must be crazy fast?
sam v it’s pretty quick! Keeps up with the new mustang gt. Upgrading to a larger turbo soon and it should be properly fast
Clickbait.
Cool stuff! The fiat is definitely quirky, but I still loved getting to drive one.
Checkpoint I love it! It's a fantastic car. Definitely a great daily driver
Bottom line jys a poes😂
Squeeky squeeky
