Winding up 180 degrees or more lengthens the time it takes to release the puck, quick releases score goals. Shoulder height or just a little more is all that is necessary
+ttowindo78 The distance is so long that the goalie has more than enough time anyways. Sometimes it's actually harder to react when the shot takes a long time, I don't know why. Also, when you're shooting a one-timer, the stick hits the puck at the same time no matter what. Trust me, I'm a goalie.
@@munashetowindo The important time is not when the goalie sees the player shooting, it is about the reaction time to the trajectory of the puck once released
If you can't get a fast and accurate slap shot with waist height wind up then don't even think about a shoulder or above shoulder wind up. Start small and get that accuracy with power. Then work your way up for more. To the waist or a little bit above results in a much faster release and fools the goalie too.
Not with a slap shot. The wind up doesn't matter to a goalie. You're not fooling him by cutting off your wind up at the knee. A goalie reads the release of the puck off of your stick, which if we're talking about slap shots is the exact same weather your windup is 180 or 60 degrees. If you have space and time to do a full wind up, do it, you want as much velocity on that puck as possible from the blue line. Snap shots are an entirely different story though.
the scientists brought out thousands of dollars worth of equipment to show you a slow motion view of the 80 mile an hour slapshot and the players reaction at 3:40 shows how excited he is.
+Plourde Productions but, he is from the show daily planet which is based in Toronto and i think he lives there too so its closer than goin any where lol
Late but I'm gonna say that's a no. Bauer is one of the few companies that uses flex numbers that aren't multiples of 5. Pretty much all of these companies run 72, 77, 87, 102. Unless you got it custom made (which I doubt since they only make custom flex sticks for the pros), you didn't have a 92 flex. Maybe you were looking at the P92 which is one of Bauer's curves and would be the curve on the blade of your stick.
i think the weight of the puck is what flexes the stick. in golf when you tee off the ball flexes the shaft of the club. i think leaning on your stick just messes up your shot.
This Jay Ingram cat has horrible balance, and can't even STAND properly, ...never mind shoot the puck. He's also kidding himself if he thought that his hitting the target occasionally meant he was getting any good at shooting the puck. He's always OFF Balance, BEFORE, DURING & AFTER his shots. Poor skaters make lousy Hockey players. Skating is the most important skill.
He's not he biggest guy so u can't be expecting him to fire 90-100 mph slap shots like chara, he has a pretty good shot, everyone can improve somewhere tho
Jay, by making himself a part of this story, ruins it. Zero people in the world want to see the old guy take coaching / take shots. Check your ego next time, Jay and remember that a good reporter doesn't make themselves part of the story.
No. A newton is a measurement of force as a pound is as well. 1 Newton is = 1 kg*m/s^2. 1 pound = 1 slug*ft/s^2. In any case 1 N = 0.22 lbs. They are not equivalent.
"This thing bends like a branch its amazing."...Stick isnt flexing...
Luved my one time from the blue line..... always my fav shot when it was set up right...... watching this makes me miss the ice.
Winding up 180 degrees or more lengthens the time it takes to release the puck, quick releases score goals. Shoulder height or just a little more is all that is necessary
+ttowindo78 When you're all the way back at the blue line, it doesn't really matter that much.
***** it does when theres a guy coming out to block your shot. also the longer the release the more time the goalie has to prepare

+DeadAndUnknown Go watch Aaron Ekbland's highlight video. He has beautiful slap shot.

Nice video. Don’t worry Mr commentator, it takes huge amounts of practice to learn.
I can't believe the leafs goalie blocked over 1 shot
20th Planet ikr

Super cool
lol I love this
Seeing the snippets of Jamie McBain in the portion of video with the Canes triggered me.
The signature isn’t the slap shot it’s the Michigan
Jonas Gustavsson
That’s dangerous to be taking slap shots that close to the goalie
hearing is faster? no wonder i feel different when i use my 7.1 headset than my earphone when playing cs. reacted faster than even i expected.
+cok Bagus Nah man, it's all the mousepad

That's where you're wrong kiddo
matt frattin was suppose to be the leaf's savior
my slap shot is about 45 mph but my wrist shot is about 35 to 40 mph
Bruce Bonnell that's could be because your wrist shot technique is better then your slap shot technique
DeadlyVortex I can't flex my 50 flex stick but I practice the writer more than my clapper
no chance in hell you cant flex a 50 flex stick unless you're a newborn
Zane Jeffery I might flex it but I don't realism or I just can't flex it on ice and I am only like 80 to 90 Pounds so ya
What is with these guys wanting to take advice from bad Leafs players
+PBirds76 You say that like there are GOOD Leafs players.
Well I mean they could've at least asked Phil Kessel
+Nicklas Bäckström He's a Penguin.
mkailov13 This was made in like 2011
Nicklas Bäckström Your comment was made in 2016.

because there is a thin layer of water on top that acts like a lubricant
No he’s making a joke
Wait that means r/wwwoooooosh
He sucks cause he's taking advise from the leafs
+Plourde Productions someone had to say it!
+Plourde Productions but, he is from the show daily planet which is based in Toronto and i think he lives there too so its closer than goin any where lol
Every NHL player is good, or else they wouldn't be there
889773 and maybe he isn't good because he doesn't play the sport lmao theSe kids don't think they see the leafs and just think oh "they suck"
yep, take it seriously, it wasn't just the obvious joke.
I have a 92 flex stick and I broke it........
