After i served USMC i became a deputy. Quantico and other military bases in tthe area. I was working the jail, afew Young Marines got in trouble and still acting like donkeys. There CO first went in room, he was talking no raising his voice, Marines sitting in chairs. Then the Quantico SGTMAJ he went in he , all hell broke, young ones at attention SgtM went off for easy 5 plus minutes. He came out and told Sheriff supervisor if any more problems, one smartass comments call he will come back. The young Marines no more problems.
This is what happens when standards are lowered to make numbers.

As an individual he has the right to protest. Where he messed up was in stating what branch of service and rank he is. We as individuals have rights but as a service member you have to remain neutral. That is what got him in the trouble he is in, he linked his personal choice to the Air force as a service member instead of just protesting as a individual. Everyone in the military has the right to protest and to their own opinions as long as they are not using their service member status during the time of protest (which he did)

We had this dude jump overboard off our ship in the middle of the night in the Persian gulf on deployment. After we picked him up and put him the brig. He refused to eat. Until the skipper had steak and lobster sent to him in his cell. 😂

@@ErikPT Others from my old command ended up going to Great Lakes. According to them the new recruits have a significant difference in discipline than even shown in the documentary. The dudes and I all joined around 2018. Something must be done about the military recruiting and discipline in my strong opinion.

FAFO!!! I and another did something that was hangable in nature. Said it to the right Officer at the right time. The command relented and sent the superior home (fired). Thing is....We were correct! and would take our punishment regardless. Word was "Mutanny!", said we would shut the command down! Year later....there was a new Hister, and I got F'd. I still hold my head high and those that let it happen...You should have seen these "brown-shirt" faces whilst he did what he did to me (could not look me in the eyes). I'm still here with a lighter heart😊

The “Air Force is Smartest Branch” is recruiting hype. Once you’re in you realize that was an absolute lie. They always tried telling us how technologically advanced we were, all the while using 1960’s and 1970’s tech integrated with windows 2000 (this was in the 2010’s).
There are people in the Air Force who cannot read. We had a new guy read a briefing. This guy struggled to read the most basic words.

Regardless on how you feel you have a duty to serve the country. Now, if you are upset about something, have an intellectual conversation with a higher up. See what they tell you, then move from there.

This is a tricky subject. The military is supposed to be politically neutral, but if you have those strong feelings about your service and how it should be used, why join? Stay out. Go work for a NGO. These people want the benefits of being in the military and then want to be political patsies.
Well if that were the case, then a lot of these military youtube channels giving their opinions about political issues should be banned. Even giving your opinion of this air force protestor, whether in support or against, is political. On the other hand, realize that from the Nuremberg Trials, servicemembers are liable for committing war crimes even if they were following orders. That is how the Nazis were charged. If servicemembers can be held liable as such, maybe it makes sense that they are cognizant and have opinions about what their superiors want them to do. You also don't serve in the military without being reminded of war and current events all the time.

I don’t agree with his stance, but he shouldn’t involve his military service in his “protest”. Also, I can’t remember the article from the UCMJ but it covers deliberate damage or injury to Government personnel. I had a buddy in the Marines got charged because he kept getting injured playing sports off duty. So if he weakens himself from a starvation point. Would he not be able to be charged similarly? I’m older than mummy dirt so I can’t remember all the chargeable aspects.
