This boss was originally the reason I stopped playing this game, but this video helped me soooo much, I hate it when you just have to subtract a third of his health. I doesn‘t say that anywhere.
P.S: first playthrough on the original Wii version in 2021
Thanks for this. I changed my armor around, made and equipped a few gems and beat him second try. Also important to note is that I filled my party gauge quickly by doing side/back attacks (with the exclamation mark is there), and got a good chain attack and hits afterwards which finished him off quickly.
Congrats you earned a new sub. I have a feeling I'm gonna need these videos because I don't have a full grasp on this game yet. I finally beat this guy but I had no idea what I was doing. All I was doing was taking out the minions and somehow it all worked out.

I was only able to do one combo, why wasn’t given a second turn to do another chain combo??? What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I beat him, but I would still like to know how to get another turn.
it's random but to get it to more likely raise your party's affinity chart
It is random yes and it depends on affinity between your party and the tension of your party members

This game is hard as hell even this leveling to lvl 23 is harder then cuphead the devil boss at expert and u just started with the newbie gun

It's impossible because xord give 5000hp damage of all party after 10 seconds

Im still having a lot of problems with Xord, lately I've been having trouble keeping Sharla alive and Reyn away from both Shulk and Sharla, Any tips?
Well let's see... You can try giving her a lot of hp or physical defence gems (if you need more gear with slots go to the shop right at the beginning of the ether mines). And I'd focus on keeping her above 1200 hp with Shulk’s light heal. And use Monado speed on her as soon as she gets below that point even if you didn't get a vision to buy yourself more time.
You can also try to control Reyn or Sharla yourself if this doesn't work out for you.

Is it all luck with the break on a chain
Bc ive got my ass kicked 4 times and every chain attack he resist break and topple and i do 1 damage
It's not luck based, break and topple are always guaranteed to work in a chain attack.

Either grind against some enemies in the ether mines or do some sidequests in the refugee camp

I do not understand this game's mechanics even a little bit. I just use whatever is available. That has been my "strategy" so far. But now even this video didn't help a lot because I don't know what anything means. I have played a number of RPGs but this one I don't quute understand

Can you still defeat him if you are level 19 and don't have shaker edge can I just start beating mechons and chain attack
It's gonna be really hard but it might be worth giving a try. Just follow the advice in this video but if it doesn't work out I'd say grind to at least level 21

Your comment should go top. I tried a few times with Shulk but couldn't make it. So i watch this video for help. I saw your comment tried Sharla because I had nothing to lose. Took me less than a minute to get the m*****f***** down. So thanks.
how would you raise the party meter
i die before i can even build a chain attack.
Give hp up gems to Shulk and Sharla, and enter the battle with a full talent gauge so Shulk can use monado enchant right away
Oh and you can also build your party gauge in another area and then skip travel back to Xord
Idk if it's because i like to grind so much and make misions, whatever, this boss was so easy to me, in his first appearance and in his last. You just have to know to do the chain with the correct moves of Shulk and Sharla. Reyn can't awake his weakness with any of his moves, i think
Yep, start a chain attack and inflict break with Shulk/Sharla and then use topple, for many people it's difficult because ghey die before they can use a chain attack
It wont let me use chain attack. What am I doing wrong? This is annoying!
Might be because your party gauge isn't filled up all the way, can't really think of any other reason

I meant that you should replace it with another art if you can, poor choice of words on my part
(But to be clear, you can remove an art entirely. If you go to the arts menu and press the plus button while hovering over one it will be removed without being replaced by another art)

@@zulufigure9171 Dus lang verhaal kort, je wilt minstens level 23 zijn. Als je Shulk bestuurd moet je eerst de mechon uitschakelen die Xord oproept en je party gauge zoveel mogelijk opbouwen om topple aan te richten aan Xord in een chain attack.
Het is ook belangrijk dat je shaker edge niet gebruikt tot na de chain attack. In de chain attack moet je Xord eerst topple-en en als je de kans krijgt daze aanrichten met shaker edge.
Als dat is gelukt kan je shaker edge normaal gezien nog eens gebruiken nadat de chain attack eindigde om hem nog langer duizelig te houden, wat je net genoeg tijd zou moeten geven om hem uit te schakelen met een Backslash en Monado buster.
Dat is zo ongeveer het belangrijkste, hopelijk hielp het😁
Just managed to do it without tips. The secret is that skill of Sharla who inflicts break status.
