Great, happy for you! But if you think that buck had smelled you and didn't care, or was interested in your scent, then you are fooling yourself. Human urine is not an attractant for high pressured big bucks. At least not where I have hunted, which is in the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest. Are there dumb deer that are unpressured, sure. Do big deer sometimes do stupid things? Absolutely, especially during the peak rut. So, I'm happy that you urine is special. Enjoy the hunt but don't kill em all.

Peeing from the stand don't work for me. I've had does walk down wind from me sitting up a tree 23 ft . Deer go crazy and turn go back where they came from blowing. I had just peed out the stand.
Exactly, mature pressured deer will not tolerate "hot" human scent, and they know what human urine smells like. Young unpressured deer may be curious, but mature pressured does and certainly bucks will not.
Well, I've never used one because I am hunting out of a portable stand. So I need to carry less gear not more gear. However, there is one situation that I would look into using one or doing research on one to see if it really works. And that is if I were hunting in a ground blind, then I would certainly consider using one. But as I said, I would find out how they work and if they work because when you are at eye level with deer, you need all the help you can get, lol. Thanks for watching.

I've wizzed off a stand and a buck ran in to investigate what he heard. I've sprinkled on a scrape to watch a buck return to it same day and scrape more. These both decent bucks but in deep woods mind you. Maybe not as pressured. 💁🏻♂️
I think the issue is telling guys that are wanting to hunt trophy deer that are pressured that it's okay to go while your in the stand. That is just crazy talk. Big mature bucks don't mind "cold" scent, it tells them there is no danger around them. And some of them won't tolerate any human intrusion. I think we all need to do a little experiment pee in the woods and put a camera over it the results will astound most people as a trapper I've used it several times . All animals are attracted to it especially canines and of course deer . It tickles me every time I hear people say use coyote urine or human urine to keep deer out of your garden, I can assure you it attracts them

Heck, they bed down in our back lawn and they know we are just feet away. However, bow hunting mature bucks during the season, that is an entirely different issue. If you think it "attracts" big bucks, and you are putting them on the ground, then by all means, please come and pee where I hunt. I'm 67 years old killed over a hundred deer been peeing in scrapes for 45 years my biggest buck is 190 inches so I can't agree with you just killed a 140 2 weeks ago 30 minutes after I peed in his scrape so I think you should try it just saying btw I've killed deer every year since 1978

Peed on their heads when they walked under my stand. Pee is pee whether its human or deer. Doesn't make a bit of difference on elk or mule deer. Guess whitetails are smarter? Shot my first deer at 10 now 76 years old and still get my deer every year with my bow!

I thought peeing from the stand mattered until I was 17 hunting with my cousin that was in his 30s and we found a small scrape he took a leak in the scrape the next weekend when we were hunting the same area we walked through the scrape area and it was torn up three times as big I put a trail camera on it and we both peed in it the next weekend I grabbed the card and two different bucks were sniffing it and hitting that scrape the day after. One was a 4 point and the other was a nice 8 point

I debated responding to this but why not. I will say first hand human pee does not bother them. Maybe if you go on a all night bender and your pee is 150proof but in my experience a normal urine situation It dose not matter. I can assure you I don’t hunt stupid deer, and can say my pee has zero negative effects from my experience. All my scrapes I make are started with my own pee, I let it fly from the stand it don’t bother them. Deer have no was to associate human pee with a human, just like coyote pee don’t bother them, they have no way of knowing the true source unless you peed on them while dancing on your platform. My last several bucks range from 130in-160 4+yr old non managed deer public, private , large and small tracts of land have yet to see a negative response. My most recent was 160 class 14pt 5-6yr old that crossed my wind and I had peed out of the saddle. Idk I’ve enjoyed a couple videos of yours but this one I’m not buying. Human scent is far more important than any urine human or not
Whitetail habitat solutions says the concern about pee is wrong. It is soon effectively indistinguishable from deer urine. Don't bother with the bottle anymore. Feel free to pee in scrapes and rubs, or wherever. He has downed hundreds of large bucks and is a professional land management consultant.

I have hunted for 42 years and have taken over 125 deers in that time. I have hunted from Montana to GA Hunted illinois for 20 year's I have peeed out of my stand and within 5 minutes had goods bucks walk underneath me and never, never one time has a deer spooked. I doubt that your deer herd is more intelligent than all the others. I do agree that the wind is the most important thing to watch for but the pee is not thing to worry about. I heard you say get out of your stand and go pee a hundred yards away. How many deer do you spook walking 100 yards there and back. Just my second time commenting on utube but couldn't help myself. This is absolutely the most nonsense I have ever heard one say.

In my heavily pressured neck of the woods, peeing from my stand is the least of my worries! The only real chance I got at killing the mature bucks i'm after is when they are seeking a hot doe! There is human scent all over the public woods here, I can't escape people that are hiking, walking dogs, mtn biking ect. Time on stand and hunting cold crappy weather is how I have been able to kill my target bucks! I don't believe a deer can determine what left the urine on the ground. Just think about all the other Predators in the woods, are deer going to freak out everytime they smell where a coyote pissed?
You have an excellent point there, there is no substitute for time in the stand. I've given up hunting on public lands just for the reasons you stated. Hikers and careless hunters are real problems on public lands, which is why a lot of those deer go nocturnal by late October. There is nothing more frustrating then to have gun hunters scouting for a location and was right into your stand location while your in the stand. This problem also makes mid day hunts a good idea as well. As far as other urines, sure, coyote and coon urine is "normal" in the woods, of course it doesn't freak out deer. But human urine is not normal. I can smell my late morning urine after drinking coffee, so if I can smell the difference in my urine, then certainly deer can. And you know hikers and taking dumps and peeing all over the woods, so they know when hikers have passed through. I have decided to take it out of the equation by simply peeing into a gatorade bottle. That way there is no doubt about it. The older your targeting buck is, then the smarter he is as well. I have peeed out of my stand and within 5 minutes had goods bucks walk underneath me and never, never one time has a deer spooked.
I doubt that your deer herd is more intelligent than all the others.
I do agree that the wind is the most important thing to watch for but the pee is not thing to worry about.

Great, I've taken deer in GA, Conn., Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, and Alabama. Yes, my deer are more weary than yours, and probably smarter as well. But, if your deer like your pee, then you are a blessed man. Enjoy the hunt, but don't kill em all.
good idea, i'll pee at my car in my pee bottle and pour it 100 yards upwind of where I'm gonna setup and see what happens. I only carry a pee bottle because John Eberhart does, and he's got 50 record bucks in the books, most from heavily pressured Michigan public land.

In my heavily pressured neck of the woods, peeing from my stand is the least of my worries! The only real chance I got at killing the mature bucks i'm after is when they are seeking a hot doe! There is human scent all over the public woods here, I can't escape people that are hiking, walking dogs, mtn biking ect. Time on stand and hunting cold crappy weather is how I have been able to kill my target bucks!
I don't believe a deer can determine what left the urine on the ground. Just think about all the other Predators in the woods, are deer going to freak out everytime they smell where a coyote pissed?
You have an excellent point there, there is no substitute for time in the stand. I've given up hunting on public lands just for the reasons you stated. Hikers and careless hunters are real problems on public lands, which is why a lot of those deer go nocturnal by late October. There is nothing more frustrating then to have gun hunters scouting for a location and was right into your stand location while your in the stand. This problem also makes mid day hunts a good idea as well. As far as other urines, sure, coyote and coon urine is "normal" in the woods, of course it doesn't freak out deer. But human urine is not normal. I can smell my late morning urine after drinking coffee, so if I can smell the difference in my urine, then certainly deer can. And you know hikers and taking dumps and peeing all over the woods, so they know when hikers have passed through. I have decided to take it out of the equation by simply peeing into a gatorade bottle. That way there is no doubt about it. The older your targeting buck is, then the smarter he is as well.
