Josh: "ssup man"
Brian: "Not much"
Josh: :(
Lol
I really appreciate your how to video's. Thank you for being so descriptive and knowledgable
You are welcome and thank you for watching! - Van
Just installed my m4 exhaust today and used this video a reference. Helped tons
Awesome glad it helped for sure. Thanks for watching - Brian Van
Do you ride around town with it on?
@@chrisfollmer6315 i currently don't have a bike. Sold my last one a year ago almost, last october. But yea, i would ride around town. It's only 25 through my town so rpm's would be relatively low anyway to prevent it getting annoying
Wow, it's actually sound nicer than i thought it would be
M4 has a GREAT sound!
Sportbike Track Gear Absolutely
Lol everyone knows he wont be riding this on the track. "Why you always lien"
haha
Liability reasons haha
Excellent video. Thanks for doing all of these tech vids. My friend and I are going to be tackling this next week, and you covered everything that we will be doing. Much easier after watching somebody do it a few times. Thanks again.
You are welcome and thank you for watching. Good luck with the install! - Van
I cant even afford one of those bikes or the exhaust, but this video is going to my fav list :)
Thanks for watching! - Van
Always clean the piping before starting but if you forget there's an easy fix to remove the burnt in finger prints and it just a few gentle rubs with wet & dry sandpaper 1200
I will have to try that some time. - Van
I just cut the cables on my 2021 ZX10R (Bought the same exhaust from you) because it was a huge pain in the ass and I didnt' want to end up scratching the bike from muscling it.
Yeah, I'm that guy...
Thanks for the business and enjoy the new exhaust. - Van
Did you get a servo buddy ?
@@Zx10RidesDidn’t need to. No check engine light.
Lol josh very stone face until that engine is cranked over all smiles........ even puts a smile on my face lol.
thanks STG. my 2016 zx10r sounds and performs awesome and the changes are 110% noticeable. Trip was worth every mile of it.
+SIG Ninja naw man I love to take road trips. So I drove up there to there headquarters in Michigan from North Carolina
+SIG Ninja 11hrs there and about 10hrs back. But to be honest, I'd do it again just to hangout with the guys at STG they are true motorcyclist. Not just some salesmen.... They put more then work in, they put passion.
+SIG Ninja Very true statement
+Joshua Lerner Thanks for coming up! It was great to meet you!
+Sportbike Track Gear like wise bro. I'll be making another trip up there soon lol
Please get that 8 point buck off the back of your beautiful machine! Sounds great
That's the smile :)
+Vanja Z My favorite part of the whole video!
Sounds amazing!!! I am not a fan of the design of that square looking can but.... it sounds best ive heard so far!
Looks very nice, one thing that I think would make mounting the muffler a little easier would be for them to thread and tap the race mount rather than using a nut on the back side.
+Finchnz That would be a bit easier, I assume the do it just to make even more parts replaceable in case of a lowside. They actually supply really nice looking hardware too, which a lot of companies miss. Thanks for watching, man!
Great video! Thanks! Sounds great!
+Robert Kohut Thanks for watching!
Yeah I'm sure he'll only use it for the "track"... especially as he's gotta ride back home ;-)
+2002RM Fortunately he made the 10 hour drive in his truck!
Sportbike Track Gear good one...that’s what I would say too lol...
just put this exhaust on my bike,,,,OH MY GOODNESS,,,,
M4 makes a great exhaust system for sure. - Van
a brand new bike for track only?
Hey brian whats it sound like with the cat still on the bike????????
That bike will never see a track! LOL! Cops don't check to see if you have a full exhaust. Cool video though.
Cops that ride may know the difference between full-modified and stock exhausts. Cops in southern California are trained on this especially because of the automotive tuners. I got a homie that has a bike that looks like a sleeper (no radical add-ons), but had a full system and the Cop wrote him up with a big ticket.
FYI, for those that dont know, baby oil is the easiest and safest way to remove unwanted stickers and leftover adhesive.
Slip on installation is harder than only a muffler. And it's out of my comfort zone because I'm not a mechanic.
van I need your help with my 2015 r6 can you help brother out plz tell me how to get my bike like that girl r6 you had work on
Good video! What size is that security torx bit?
No need to remove the metal wheel of the servo to remove the cables, just loosen the adjuster of the cables and they can be removed very painless, the rest of the job was well done very nice
+Blackcupra43 Thanks! You are right about the adjusters, just kind of a learning moment for me. Thanks for watching!
How did you do this ?
Quick question if I may. What if we were to remove the cables to the servo motor, but left the motor in place and connected. Would it still throw a light? Do you know what I mean? Just let the wheel on the servo motor do it's thing, except there will be no cables on it. Would that work? Or would it still trip an "idiot light" ? Thanks
No it will still trip the light once the servo motor moves out of expected range. All you need to do is install a Servo Buddy on the bike and there will be no light. Here is a link to it on our site for this bike: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/skutrnet-kawasaki-zx-10r-04-17-exhaust-servo-buddy/ - Brian Van
Ive been running my 2016 ZX10R for 2 years with only the servo motor and no cables... light hasn't ever tripped... have also been doing the same on an 07 Z1000 for 8 years with no issue at all...
@@ninjagregtv5352yo! Can you explain exactly what you did?
Just disconnect the cables and leave it plugged in... The valve in the exhaust defaults to the open position...@@Zx10Rides
And don't forget with patience you also need some blue tape on the surfaces where your working so you don't scratch stuff:)
if I dont remap or get block off plates will it hurt the bike?
nice
Thanks for watching! - Van
Whats the name of that connection so that ur engine doesnt cone out.. also is the power mode suppose to be flashing as well? Will the connection stop that.
"Track" lol
Sounds good. 26:46, where did you get that custom stay to hold up the exhaust?
That is included with this exhaust. - Van
Im only going to ride it on the "track" 😉 because of emissions.
Is all zx10s like this or only certain year models?
The install would be similar on any of the recent ZX10 bikes. - Van
nice video, but wondering should you need a tune?
You do not have to do a tune if you are happy with the performance after installing the system. - Van
Is it possible for you to make a tutorial on how to sync throttle bodies?
That's a nice exhaust! Do they offer it for the 2013-2016 zx6r?
How do i get a stg brake fluid reservoir sock?
Go to their online store
Can you leave the servo motor on the motorcycle and still use the aftermarket pipe?
No you will need to remove the servo motor with this install and install a servo eliminator or flash the ecu to keep the engine light off. - Van
STG this is my first video of yours, your style is great , I am a fan of less is more. I have a new 2015 zx 10 r anniversary edition I am putting a two bros black series decat shorty carbon fiber on it. Will mine be a similar install to the M4? Thank you and keep up the great instructional videos. also what state is your shop in? Thanks
+Alan Austin Thanks! We appreciate you watching. I would say this is a good guide fro most systems, although you should always make sure to follow the instructions in case of specific details.
do you have to remove the cables, can you tie them up somewhere so they are ready if you need to put the cat back on ?
You could leave them if you prefer to do so. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear i did pull them out on zx10r 2015 model , it worked out well . easy to get out and it was fairly simple to fix the exhaust :D check out my exhaust video if you want to see the result :D
keep up the good videos!
Hey man, do you know (or somebody else) if removal of exhaust valve is bad for the engine? I have a Kawasaki Z750 2012, and I am afraid to do damage to the engine. Hope u can answer!
I have removed the exhaust valve on several bikes over the years and have never had an issue. - Van
Question: I’m installing a M4 GP19 slip-on onto my 2021 ZX-6r and I’ll be eliminating the cat-converter along with adding the servo buddy. With that being said, is a flash needed? Does it ruin the bike in any way if I go without doing this?
Install the system and ride the bike. If you are happy with the performance then there is no need to have the bike tuned. No damage will be caused with an exhaust modification like this. - Van
Kawasaki makes a damn good looking bike.... Look at all the goobers making comments about the whole track use disclaimer.... Ya no sh#t people they are joking around...... unreal :/ The people of this country....
damn..sweet...quick question Brian.did u say..servobuddy is same as the one from older GENs of zx10r?
+cadworx It sure is the same! Thanks for watching!
I have a quick question I just bought this m4 from you guys . I already installed on my 2017 ZX10R but now when I’m doing 10 mph or under it jerks a lot ..... what can I do to fix that ??
My first answer is go faster than 10 mph. All BS aside a fuel map should improve this for you and there are options. You could install a fuel controller such as a Power Commander V and use a map for a slip on (they have a map data base on their site) or you could do a flash on your stock ECU. Both are effective and have good track records. The ECU flash is nice because you do not need to install any additional parts. Below are links to the flash kit and Power Commander on our site:

Fire away if you have any more questions. - Van
hello, I have a zx10r 2016 with the same m4 of the video and it does not loose fire and I would like it to release fire, what should I do
what is the weight difference?n Is there a smaller catalyst for road use? Also replace the 3kg battery.
+jerryx2000 The weight difference is almost exactly 10 pounds. There is not a smaller catalyst available and you are correct that a lithium battery is a great way to cut weight!
i got a 2018 zx6r i want that pipe
Would it fit my 2018 ??? If yes shoot the link asap! Thanks
Yes this will also fit your 2018 ZX10R. - Van
How is that a cat delete system??
Makes more power for sure. - Van
They gave Josh an STG tshirt to wear for the video. It still has package wrinkles.
On my 636, I just leave the servo motor on there. I don't need the servo buddy, and no check engine light was ever on.
Servo buddy waste of money.
You kidn! That servo motor weighs a ton!
That's soo badass 🤙🤙🤙🤘🤘
What size is that o2 sensor on the header? 12mm? 18? Thank you!
I installed this a while back so not 100%. That said most of the current bikes are using the smaller of the 2 as I remember it. - Brian Van
any slip on legal in cali?
California is a unique place. You will need to do your research before you buy if you are in CA. - Van
great video and install 👍👍
is it possible I still keep the rear passengers pegs for this exhaust?
do we need to add power commander and remap the bike after anstalling this exhaust ? i have 2014 zx10r i have fitted AR exhaust so do i need to anstall power commander and remap ?
I recommend riding the bike and evaluating the performance. If you are happy with it then leave it alone, not happy install a fuel controller or have the ECU flashed. - Van
No your map is just fine.... no need to do that
thanx
So you left the cats in? or does that midpipe replace them?
This system eliminates the CAT as well. If you prefer there are slip ons that retain the CAT. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Do you need to disconnect the O2 sensor in the OEM header?
No need for remaping???
For peak performance Josh would want to get an engine tuner for sure.
can i order a helmet from Greece?
+TheNick34752 You sure can!
Thx 4 vid. Do you have a link to the Tamper proof bit?
We do not have the tamper proof bits on the site right now. Need to find some and add them. You can find these at any hardware store. - Van
@650ib come on down to the BIG D (Dallas Texas) and let's get some smackdowns in. You don't need a Hotel my brother, I got you.
Hello, I just got an M4 but I dont want to bother with the serbo cable. can i just ziptie it on the bottom of the bike? or will i still get the light on the dash?
You will get a light if you do not install a servo eliminator. - Van
Can I get m4 to fit my 2017 aprilia rev4rf
should I upgrade from a Ninja 1000 to a Zx10r?
That is a totally personal choice that depends on a lot of different factors. Both are great bikes for their individual applicaitons!
I suggest you try one before you switch. The body position while riding is really different (so is the power delivery).
No, sold an r1, got a z900, couldn't. BE happier
Yeah, track only, sure...
Hey..great job posting such videos..
I hv a 16 zx10r to which i plan to option 1: gut the cat and use link pipe from arrow exhaust keeping my stock muffler..option 2: keep the cat and change the stock muffler to hot bodies mgp slip on.
I just want people to hear me on the road but i do not want scare anyone away..
What do you suggest..
We do not do much Arrow exhaust so I am not sure if that will work with the stock can. The M4 pipe will if you want to try that. Installing only a slip on with the stock cat in place will not change the sound levels that much. Based on what you say here I would do a 3/4 system out of the gate and be done with it. - Van
if i keep the stock muffler and remove the cat, will there be a need to do any other modification to the bike?like a remap or something
Remapping should be done at some point to get the air fuel ratio back inline. To get the max performance benefits from the mod you will need to do this. - Van
Would it work with a 2015 model ?
No this is for the 16-19 ZX10R only. Here is a link to the M4 systems for your bike on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/parts/kawasaki/zx-10r/2015?_bc_fsnf=1&brand=193
Thanks, what is the difference ? The diameter?
what do block off plates do
Cool install.
+Piston Slap Thanks!
Just a question on your opinion, First does Flash Tune or any other tuner support the new 16 ZX10? and 2nd part if tuner was available would you have had the servo shut off through the ECU eliminating the servo and the servo buddy all together. 3rd having the tune done to shut off the servo would you also have the fuel and ignition maps adjusted to complement the added air flow from the cat being removed and the slip-on being installed. Thanks for the info!
Hello, there is a flash tune kit that supports the new ZX-10R! To order it you would want to contact one of our sales reps at 888.784.4327. There are a ton of bikes that have the exup code eliminated using a tuner and yes it would be the same for this bike. That is the benefit of the flash tune, you are able to get the absolute best set-up for your motorcycle as far as fuel and air mixtures go.
What in your guys experience is the best sportbike for road use?
We actually have a Top 5 Sportbike Mods feature on our site with a video. Here is a link: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/best-sportbike-mods/
IMO the best performance mod is to replace the stock rubber brake lines with stainless steel braided lines. It makes a tremendous difference in stopping power and lever feel. For a cosmetic mod the fender eliminator should be the first one. Get that stock boat anchor of a fender off and in the dumpster where it belongs! - Van
Thank you!! keep up the awesome videos :)
Are block off plates legal on the street in North Carolina?
+zxcurve I do not believe they would pass emissions in the state of North Carolina.
5 years later and I'm still dead!😭😭
"Track" 🤭
Sorry to hear about your passing... - Van
Cool vid Bro!
Thanks for the kind words man!
Anytime my friend!
Hello. After installing this exhaust I need a remap? If i don't do the remap is any problem ?
I have installed exhaust on numerous bikes without remapping if the performance of the bike was good after installing the exhaust system. Never had an issue with any of the bikes I did this on. - Van
thank you for the answer.
How can I get an STG T-shirt like the one he is wearing
Thanks for watching! You can get them right here:
www.sportbiketrackgear.com/stg-t-shirt-gray/
i just took off the exhaust cable and left the serve in the rear seat, no check engine light
+Kawaii Ninja the check engine light will only come on if you unplug the two servo connectors. If you leave the servo plugged in it will work as if the cables are still connected, just not actually doing anything. It's just a good idea to take it out and get a servo buddy to reduce weight, and get rid of something that is literally not doing anything for your bike anymore.
+NinjaPig ok thank, but how much weight i will save?
+NinjaPig servo buddy cost $58 man too much
That's where i tucked my PCV and AutoTuner module, so for me it was worth it, and hearing the servo turn on the key turn bugged me to no end lol. To each his own though!
@@ninjapig8380hey I need some help can you shoot a message. So just don’t disconnect the wires from the servo motor itself correct?
link for that servo buddy purchase ?
Sure thing! Thanks for watching.

how does that exhaust sound with the cat still on I want to buy that system
+Michael Hopkins This particular system is only available with the CAT eliminator. The Tech 1 Slip-on will sound similar only slightly quieter! Thanks for the great question. Do you live in the Midwest by any chance?
Michael Hopkins midas well keep your stock exhaust
"Great balls ah fire"
Very nice Sound! Ins it legal in Europe ?
+Moritz Koernert Not sure about the emissions standards in Europe but I wouldn't imagine this would qualify for street use. Thanks for watching!
Sportbike Track Gear ok thanks for answering 👍
I think it's legal in the uk
that is m4 for 2015 zx10r? because that m4 has o2 sensor at the link pipe.. am i right?
+Marc 10 It would likely fit the 2015 but this system is made specifically for the 2016. Thanks for watching!
+Marc 10 The stock O2 sensor on the 2016 bike is on the header, right after the collector; not on or near the prechamber where a link pipe would be. So on this system in particular, the stock narrowband O2 would stay in place and then M4 gives you the option of fitting a wideband for a datalogger/autotune system.
On the 2011-2015 bike, in North America, there was no stock O2 sensor. On the 2016 there is.
As far as slip ons fitting from the 4th gen to the 5th gen and vice versa, they will bolt up, but they won't mount in the same place. I took photos of my stock 2011 header against my stock 2016 header and the full Akra Evo system I put on my 2016. I posted them on ZX-10R.net. You can see the stock header on the 2016 bike is considerably longer than the stock 2011 header.
+Anthony Archer i do not understand... what is the function of the o2 sensor on the link pipe?-,-
+Anthony Archer so the bike now has 2 o2 sensor?
Marc 10 the purpose of the O2 sensor in the link pipe is to have wideband AFR feedback. That data can then be sent to a data logger and or autotune system.
Where is the oem 02 sensor if you close the o2 sensor on the mid pipe?
It is on the Catalytic converter just to the front of where the mid-pipe attaches. Let me know if you have any other questions!
+Sportbike Track Gear weird because this was supposed to "delete" the cat
Marzardd It does, but the new mid pipe has a bung for the O2 sensor.
+Sportbike Track Gear I understand but I thought this kit was supposed to delete the cat, in your previous comment you said it's on the cat
I see where the confusion comes from. I apologize I meant previously it was on the cat. My bad!
no I live in upstate new york
+Michael Hopkins Awe shoot. We currently have a Tech 1 Slip-on and we are looking to have someone bring their bike to the shop for the installation. I think it would probably cost you a bit more in fuel than the exhaust is worth :(
Thats not the Cat 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ thats the resonator
