Personally I’d buy a 2011/2012 Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8 with maximum of 60,000 miles and full dealership history (a service every year). The warranties most garages give are not worth anything. Best warranties are Land Rover warranties that will put the claim limit at about £20-25,000. It covers everything. Make sure it’s got four matching premium tyres and has had a gearbox oil change, front and rear diff change and transfer box change. Make sure lower arms have been renewed. Prices in the UK for this would be £21,000. A low mileage one would be £25,000. A high mileage one with part history / some independent non dealership history would be £16-17,000. A good private sale one with good history and 45,000 miles might cost £19,000. Id avoid ones with cheap branded tyres and back street garage history. Cheap parts and been run on a shoestring. If you buy one of these, you’ll have to spend £2-3000 getting it right. To own one of these you must be prepared to blow loads of money regularly and if that worries you, get a Lexus RX450 or Toyota Landcruiser or maybe an Audi Q5 or Q7. These will be much more reliable and cheaper to run. I think people who can work on their cars themselves are the best people to buy them because they will save a fortune in labour bills.
