Not boring at all fella. These things should be discussed. Not everyone is on the breadline who wishes to prep. All eggs in one basket is what prepping isnt about, and prepping in the "normal" world for the future is important too.
I left another post on AVC's here. Erase it if you want but its just advice to look into it.
Its what helped me retire earlier than I had to.

Hey Steve, I have coined a new-term . . "structural change!". Everyone suffers from a normalcy-bias, which is why everyone thinks that over the long-term the stock-market & house-prices only go up. That of course is a fallacy, especially as we have surpassed "peak-oil", as economic activity falls so will the relative value of everything else. This will lead to my other new term . . . "stranded-assets" . . which are assets you can't even give away as they have no value at all. As such I am out of the stock-market & only trade on spread-betting platforms, as you can bet/benefit up or down. I do not pay into a pension as they are simply too restrictive . . I prefer short-term bonds & cash isa's . . .
Like when Kodak couldn’t sell film cameras anymore or Nokia because most consumers had switched to smartphones. There’s lots of disruptive tech on the horizon and you don’t want to be invested in the next ‘Kodak’ company, legacy auto springs to mind and uber when Tesla rollout their RoboTaxi fleet. This isn’t going to happen overnight, but I believe Nokia had its best year just before it all went pear shaped! That’s why I don’t invest in ETF’s or index funds because I want to choose the disruptive companies and not a bundle of companies that might include those companies that WILL be disrupted!
To be honest , im lost with this stuff but my concern is this budget,theyre keeping so much close to their chest only that its going to be tough thanks to the sausage guy in No 10 whos friends want us to own nothing and be happy this organisation is running all this thats going on today aiming for a cashless society. The stock market is a way to transfer wealth from the impatient (i.e. those that panic sell) to the patient that are invested in the market long term dollar cost average and if they see a stock they believe in ‘on sale’ buy more of it. If you can’t leave your emotions at the door and keep a level head then you should probably avoid investing and let a professional advise you.
