It’s like they don’t care to engineer any bulletproof reliability into these bikes, reliability is like last on their list. Idc if it’ll be 10lbs heavier make it reliable.

Tl;Dr: It's not the Quickshifter itself, it's the clutch sensor.
I just stumbled across this video and of course I clicked through the video from before. Had the same issue with my '21Tuono 660 - twice, so far. First time my dealer extended the warranty a bit (love him) and changed the little clutch sensor on the left bars bottom side on the lever. Second time I figured it out myself (started with orange flashing ⚙ and a lot of red R): the sensorscrew thread is stuck through a hole in the levers bottom side. If it's nuts loose or gone this makes the bike think 'oh, clutch is pulled' when it's not the case. If you're combining this with "quickshifting" the gearbox gets a lot of love from your foot since there will be no ignition interruption because the bike still thinks it's clutch is pulled.
Maybe your dealer figured it out himself and just wanted to keep the secret (or didn't even realized the coincidence and changed/fixed it too) since the sensor is something around 50-60 or repaired in no time VS 200ish for the Quickshifter + Flashing + Installationtime.
If the mighty red R comes back: check your clutch sensor 🧐
    Ride safe! 🤙
€dit: Also left a sub just in case, since I realized you're the CRT guy I just watched a few minutes ago admiring that roary sound! 🤌

@@SK_XIII You still could be correct in the temperature theory. I had a radio in my old Volkswagen, that only played when the temperatures became warm enough. I do have a question though: Did you ever actually switch to GP? I never did on my 660, and they weren't real clear on if it was a software switch or physically reversing the quick shifter arm. I know they had to software update even on the stars and stripes model, so i wonder if its not an ecu/flashing issue.
I still ride in like 25-degree weather on mine, and I've not had that issue myself.
Anyhow, stay safe my guy, you got to come ride out here in southern Utah, we got some great roads to hit up.

Idk about you guys, but I think it's about time that some of the major motorcycle companies like KTM, Ducati, Aprilia (to name a few) should get new electronic and software engineers. The three mentioned seem to be amongst the ones that have constant electronical and software issues. Reliability needs to be sorted, especially when forking out hefty cash for these machines.

ECU’s can throw false error codes. Especially on Italian bikes. Treat it like the computer it is and simply start, run 3-5 seconds and stop. Wait the same time and repeat the process 3-5 times. You will find in some occasions the error code goes away. It often makes me think back to the days when bikes were carbureted. So simple and rewarding when new and maintained.

I own the Stars and Stripe version. I had the same issue multiple times this summer. I live in Louisiana, and this past summer was 100°+ almost every day. So I don't believe that temperature is the issue. My issue, like yours, resolved itself on its own after a lengthy wait in riding. I also took apart the quick shifter and noticed there was oil on it (from the infamous weep hole water pump leak). I dried off the metal contact that the shifter connecting rod moves and nothing since, but I'm doubting that this was a fix for the issue. I think it's just Aprilia cutting corners in the program software.

Quick question, I see the brake-lever guard bar end, but is there a reason there isn’t one guarding your clutch lever on the other side?

Good question! I did it for looks to be honest. Hey I own the Tuono 660 Factory, GP shift, UPMap, no exhaust yet. I have a hypothesis, I noticed majority of the maps are set for GP Shift, I mean the ECU is supposed to pick up whether if it's GP or standard shift after the flash; doing the clutch - shifting up to 2nd gear. I'm wondering if it's somehow resetting your parameters in that sense... Do you quickshift 1st to 2nd? (I always clutch 1st to 2nd).
