    Things that Gaijin abandoned during WT's development:
    -Sim
    -EC
    -Historical events
    -Historical(-ish) matchmaking
    -Heli trees (except the russian one)
    -Helicopters as a concept (still buggy af and with many wrong armament options)
    -Air RB matches that last more than 10 minutes
    -Air-Naval battle maps (when was the last time you played a Pacific theatre map in RB?)
    -Naval battles (kinda born dead tbh)
    -Their brief attempts to bring new gamemodes to ground RB and SB
    -Single-player missions and campaigns
    -The D Point

      I'd be fine if they removed helis. I hate getting smacked with a missile from some heli who is sitting stationary at so many km I can't even see him on my screen.

      the helis really need rebalanced. italy suffers with the 14 sub par rockets and 190k rp for the next one while everyoen else gets 40+ rockts or missiles :(

    Gaijin doesn't see the gold mine sitting right under their noses. With a focused effort on sim, it could take over the entire sim market. There is no combat simulator near the completion of WT in terms of being able to combine airplane, helicopters, and tanks (still hoping for infantry)

      It's not going to happen and this is the part many don't understand when it comes from the business side of game development. Adding playable infantry will cause any game title to be rated M by the ESRB system, and rated 18 under the PEGI system. This can severely impact your marketing, sales, and where you can distribute your product in the International market. There are many countries out there that have very strict policies when it comes to rated M / 18 video games. This is why they have "Enlisted" as a separate game title that focus only on infantry combat. That way it won't impact War Thunder as it is now as a age 13+ title.
      Second note - I don't think Wing recalls me talking to him about this. He may have forgot, but the EC system cannot support 64 players. 16 players is the core limit it can do due to the limitations of the game engine. Any higher that that (including game resources) will cause severe out-of-memory issues. This is why certain game modes like Naval EC has problems with high lag for so long (too much mission resources at a single time under high player load). The game engine alone just can't handle a full dynamic campaign environment. It has to be butchered down to a somewhat stale experience in order to improve the performance.
      The game engine alone is one of the main factors that prevents EC from growing.

      *Coughs in DCS.* In terms of simulation, War thunder is far from a high level of fidelity and completion, considering the game is not built to be a strict "simulator", but rather an arcade-ish fixed-wing and rotary aircraft "sim" rolled into a tank PvP game (now with ships too). It certainly offers a large variety of playable assets, however, none are even to the depth of DCS's FC3 pack, which is considered much more surface-level than other modules. DCS offer a tremendous in-depth experience, strictly simulation-wise, which War Thunder can not compete with because it is a different type of game. There are a lot of other aircraft-ground forces-naval oriented sims out in the world, such as Falcon BMS, Gunner-Heat-PC and IL2, though as you say, War thunder has a great number of assets across the board. In my mind, in-depth simulation is quality over quantity, so as you referencing they could take over the sim market, well, it is not possible, largely due to the simmer-target audience is not their focus.

      @@i_termx_i3854 I don’t think the rating is as big an issue as most think. Sure you might loose a small share of players but the size of the FPS market you’re now getting access to would eclipse any losses due to the maturity rating.
      Game engines can be changed. It’s software after all.
      I’m not saying any of this would be easy, far from it. But I think it would be well worth it, gaijin just lacks the vision for what could be

      @@alexanderhamilton5906 anyone in their right mind would not argue that WT can compete with DCS on complete immersion and full simulation… but my guess is that the majority of the sim market doesn’t necessarily want that.
      I know for at least myself, being an airline pilot, have ZERO desire to dig through a systems manual for an F16 for hours on end, learning every button just so I can fire some missiles. And I would wager most “sim’ers” would feel the same. The problem is they have no competitive alternative to DCS because as it sits right now, WT is still a little too arcadey for a lot of them.
      If WT could close the gap between their sim and DCS, make the game mode actually fun using wingalings suggestions, give the flight models better immersion (realistic tones, accurate RWR, keybinds for flares and chaff) etc, I think that would satisfy 80% or more of the sim market leaving only the most dedicated button pushers in DCS.

    Having played sim in warthunder for the last 8 years or so. The change to ONLY EC and ground battles has destroyed the community. Idk why they don’t bring back the historical scenarios like Battle of Britain and restrict it to the planes used during it.

      because their business model is selling planes, if there is any content which you can't use all your planes in, then that is content which is fundamentally incompatible with their business model.

    I do hope the devs get off thier asses and give EC the love it needs. So much can be done with it but I fear they just want to focus on RB. To me, RB feels to much like arcade now so my preference is EC, its just a bit frustrating dealing with the issues.

      Air RB now IS arcade. Matches are actually shorter 90% of the time than in arcade battles and most of the time matches are decided by plane performance and armament, you never get 1v1s

    WarThunder has little competition because it is one of a kind. But in the Simulator aspect of the game there are MANY games that do just as good or better. I think this may be a cause for the neglect of SIM in warthunder.

      The sad truth of war thunders competitors is the lack of free vehicles those SIMs offer. Name another SIM where you can use some many different variations of the F4Us or Yak 9s. Plus its really the only fleshed out SIM that stretches from biplanes to modern. If IL2 was cheaper, on console, and had even a fraction of WTs vehicle roster I'd jump ship.

      yeah, why grind warthunder for sim planes when you could just install DCS and buy your favorite plane and have a fantastic sim experience (if you can figure out how to start the engines.)

    Thank you for helping to shine a light on the air sim situation. There are so many relatively easy fixes Gaijin could implement to show that they care about us. The bigger stuff can wait. Just get started. All the RB players aren’t going away in the meantime. Also, for all the money they’re making, they have no excuse for the lack of communication AND for the lack of policing and moderation of their own game.

    I'm glad they added the useful actions cash rewards, it was so easy to lose all your lions playing sim now its a bit better. Sim mode is fun on lower tiers up to tier 4.

    Absolutely the sim experience is dead compared to what it used to be, and in top tier it is basically impossible to make money even with a 2-1+ kd sometimes, it is so stupid. Things need to change, they had a good going thing here for a while, no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water in the name of bots and base farmers. All these changes would be welcome additions to the sim community and help bring it back to life again. 100% agree, let the bots and farmers rot in their own 64 player servers and farm away till their stats draw the eye of the snail & ban the lot of them at once - will be easier and painless for rest of us just trying to enjoy sim properly.

    They need a map developer to go into the EC maps and smooth out and rework all of the roads/ai pathways because so many of them are completely broken in that they cause the convoys using them to defy gravity (scaling cliffs), travel underwater, and clip through trees and buildings. Many of the roads are also nonsensical in the way they zig-zag across the map for no reason.
    All of that makes attacking these ground targets a nightmare when those convoys include radar SPAA’s. It’s too often a suicidal mission to find those convoys without a very good thermal imaging system. Rip premium A-10’s and Su-25’s.

    Never seen your channel and this got into my algorithm, you've been blessed.
    Never been a Sim player because the economy is bad enough in RB as is, let alone me throwing away thousands upon thousands to learn a new game mode and all the compexities sim brings, as well as the fact that Gaijin has set up the control schemes so that always either RB or Sim are inverted, you can never disable inversion for both simulationously.

      Have not played in 4-5 years, nothing seems to have changed much.
      RB mouse controls STICK position. Pull Back (down) for up-elevator. Pulls nose up by moving mouse down. This is how airplanes fly.

    They could double the current SB EC rewards and RB would still be much better for someone who just rushes bases and dies in head-ons over and over lmao. Like, in SB EC I take off, I get a kill and an assist or bomb one base and then I have to ask "now what?" There's no point playing the game for the next 15 minutes because if I die, I lose RP and SL that I could have gained by spinning on the airfield. The worst part- it's easier to make more SL at infinitely less risk in AB helicopter PVE than it is in SB EC which, at least as far as I know, is supposed to be PVP and takes quite a bit more effort to play. That's where I've been going to actually gain a mountain of SL while basically AFK.
    Bugs don't get fixed. Exploits don't get patched. Hell, people STILL rocket airfields because that STILL works and it's been 3 YEARS since that became a problem. That could be patched by removing them as an objective altogether. It's not like they drain tickets or disappear when destroyed anymore anyway. That part broke a long time ago and winning doesn't matter now. Oh, and the mission AI either crashes into the ground or circles aimlessly in the middle of the map. That's really cool, how long has that been a problem? Must be pretty recent, yeah? (it's not) Gaijin still hasn't adjusted their waypoint altitudes for maps with high elevation, either.
    The reality is, (in Gaijin's POV) the gameplay solely exists as a vessel to watch numbers go up and progress bars fill. It's not supposed to be any more complex than what we had in late 2012 which was TDM with a façade of a battle in the background. The fact that we even got air EC at all as a passion project from one of their developers is a Fn miracle. But it very quickly hit the end of it's development potential in this game engine and they don't want to maintain it. Really sucks because EC, coupled with the immense diversity and accessibility WT offers, is the reason I've stuck around for over a decade.
    I wish they used that World War Mode map thing to generate less dynamic, but grander missions. So you'd join a campaign and play a map for a couple hours, it ends, takes tally of everything that's been done, and generates a new front line or scenario based on that which would last another couple hours. These campaigns would be auto-generated and AI-controlled based on demand, or squadron commanders could create campaigns vs other squadrons and manually move the units between map resets. Just, something to get kinda invested in. I'm still chasing that feeling of old WWII MMOs where there was one server for everyone, and every action mattered. Weird how as technology got better, the games got smaller.

    Much like other content creators at the start of the year Wing has listed a whole host of viable, interesting and well thought out ideas that will improve WT, increase player participation and retention and like all those other content creators it will be entirely ignored.

    I agree with pretty much all of this. I used to use SIM to grind and it used to be worth it, especially for stock grinds. Now it seems its only worth it with 100% or more boosters. I primarily find joy in going after ground and naval targets in SIM so I'd be wary with these changes turning it into a TDM mode like RB already is. As much as people say SIM is trash now, its still the only place to fly out some of these vehicles without spending a fortune. Its also more than worth it when you have a large booster good for only one game. Why would I use a 500% booster on 1 AB match that'll be over in 5-10 minutes when I can use it for the duration of a SIM EC game. At least that gives SIM some worth for me before Gaijin messes with that.

    Sim could be a great option for many players trying to get into a simulator game because the barrier to entry is so much lower than other sim games. Its on console, and you can automate controls if you want a more relaxed experience.

    I do love sim, and since I play in a notebook there's no other game that can run on it. But as far as I can tell, if I get my hands on a better PC, I'll switch from war thunder to il2/DCs. Cuz man, sucks to be flying for three hours just to get a shitty reward cuz my kills were bad times

    Agree.
    A big point for me is the native sort of vehicle problem.
    I would not ban them all but it would already help if, for example German or Italy, are split in their respective nato and soviet parts which would be West Germany and GDR. Matching GDR and Hungarian mig21’s with Soviet planes while West German starfighters and Italian ones are matched with Us and British planes.
    This also enables people being able to play together with friend that levelled a niche nation. For example my friend has Germany grinder and I unlocked the event mirage 2000 and I couldn’t even play together with him because Theresa’s no preset available with France and germany.
    If someone complains that this would not make complete line ups. Let us create a sim line up in: Axis and allies, Warsaw pact nato fashion in which in can combine British and Us P51‘s and Spitfires. In sim this wouldn’t be too overpowered either.

    Man I couldn't agree more with what have been said in this reddit post... I honestly love war thunder sim, its the gamemode that gave me the most excitement, but I am honestly more and more thinking about leaving the game for IL-2. If the snail could give Sim the love it deserves that would be fantastic !

    Honestly, if someone's burning SL in toptier BR bracket, it sucks, but with the amount of new players, its really easy to just farm bad players. and even when you run into the one in a million good players, you just hit them at BVR cause they still think they can treat any radar lock as if its a noob locking from a million miles away, but instead its me with a R-27ER. The main issues with TT Sim revolve around a lack of mechanics that exist in real life. such as a Radar missile launch warning system, and even basic ground based radars.

      Agreed, but if the bad players just loose SL due to being farmed they're not going to stay and that isn't very sustainable for the Gamemode as a whole

      Also yes we desperately need a new RWR, the amount of time I spend locked when facing US teams is ridiculous now

      to lose sl in rb you have to be really really bad. to lose sl in sim you just have die once and you will never financially recover from this. not even mentioning accidental tk which can net you -50k sl. that's why people don't play sim

      Literally #1 on the team, and having quadruple the scoee of the NEXT highest player. Positive K/D with over a dozen kills, multiple asissrs, and accomplishing many diverse objectives... -350K SL after 2 hours.
      It isn't based on skill, it is based on inflated cost and a broken economy.
      Anyone can fly cheap or premium planes and make a net profit, even with a bad performance. But that isn't the point. You shouldn't be NEGATIVE SL for flying anything if you're actually doing VERY well.

    I remember when sim ground battles wasnt a special event where they choose the vehicles you can play, before it was just like realistic any tank you want. When they made this change it decimated sim ground.

    theres been times where ive played SIM and TK's just happen on purpose, i get that the TKer gets kicked after 3 TK's but its still annoying to die to a teammate when you mark your Aircraft/ Tank properly, (IE Russian, American, German, or French Insignia/ Roundel), if you die to friendly fire you should at least be able to respawn in the same Tank/ Plane you just got TK'ed in.

    I disagree with the targeting of farmers, i don’t think they are a problem at all.
    They are the result of Gaijin’s aggressive design on increasing the grind in every aspect of the game. I find myself looking for anyway to earn RP or lions that’s worth my time or reasonable.
    Gaijin has pushed people to find exploits, if you could progress in a reasonable time frame it wouldn’t be worth it to risk your account.

      No I actually agree, I'm 100% blame the game not the player. Players of any game, are not going to tie one of their own hands behind their back to "balance" a game. Everyone is in it to win it, and it's down to the developers to balance the game. That's why it is down to the Devs to make it impossible (or very hard at least) to farm in order to improve the gaming experience for others. And that's why I mentioned it in this video.

    I got banned on there latest ban wave for "botting" I submitted a ticket and proved that i did nothing of the sort. I was out of the game for almost 2 weeks wile waiting back and forward. I lost my daily progress. Was almost as 300 days in a row. Did not get any sort of compensation. My premium time just ticked away.
    Now I don't even care to login anymore. I dont think i will for a year or 2. There fault, they lose business. There is zero care about the players, they are the most corrupt and lazy company in the entire world. Right next to EA.

    I love sim ground forces but the lack of population has made it hard for me to find a game. I think they should take a page out of ground realistic and just make mix nation teams and pit them against each other. I would also recommend offering really good credit and RP making to lure people into playing sims battles. You might have to think and work more but the payouts should be worth wild.

    For me WT died when they ditched histroical matchmaking for RB and reduced air RB match to 20 minutes, i stuck around but the game just wasnt the same, top tier became a shit show when the T2 was added without a massive BR increase

    Gaijin doesn't like sim as they cant prevent people from using it to farm they hate people who get around their scummy practices, they have tried several times to make it harder to grind but they always lose ultimately its the high repair costs that really kills it though. These days if you find a way to grind be it RP or SL keep it to yourself their quick to hunt it down if they hear of it "loose lips sinks ships".

    So I just decided a few days ago to switch my german grind to an italian grind (got germany to 5.0) and also get some planes to accompany my tanks. Well I decided to do some bombing runs in sim because I remembered how relaxing and effective they were at grinding planes. Now that I basicly have the best bomber (wtf its only 3.3, why arent there more) I am completly broke with silver lions. And also most matches I had where like 80% farmes (I think that is what you call these wierd aircrafst just laying broken on the airfield and not me?) and the few without them where a lot of fun. Teammates actually cared where I was and how they could support me. Yes I sometimes just got vaporized but I had a good time. Other than the botters being removed (and maybe replaced by AI so I dont have to wait an hour to play (PVE is not a crime)) and maybe enough silver lions to buy stuff (which goes for all modes) I would love to see shorter matches. I had matches which where like 3 hours long and I think some sort of slow ticketbleed based on the captured zones would do it (dont know if its already the case, but I feel like it isnt). Well until I need some new bombers or a big update I dont think I will play this again (well maybe with a silver lion booster).

    i use to play sim all the time because i loved it, it was fun to play i would hook up my hotas and my vr to play it but over the years its not enjoyable i lose money and not gane it do to the AA being up dated to one tap players less rewards bots hackers ect i watched it go from the best mode to the worst and it's just really sad to see it really helped me get through my air tree and outright tank sim has just been dead for a while i cant even get a match on it waiting for an hour but gaijin dosent care they only care about money i always tried talking to the devs to fix it but there to focus on the money there getting from arcade and realistic tbh they really wont care until a margarite of the community cares witch theres only a small percentage of us that play Sim and actully care about it and its future

    I've only done low tier sim due to spawn costs, most things here I agree with, others not so much. My main complaints are both small lobbies and bomber gunners being bullshit OP, I don't play the sim farm tiers at all. Outside of that, rewards are low, events and battlepass don't count sim for tasks, repair costs are astronomical, and sometimes I can fly around, use up all 45min of fuel I brought, and not find a single plane to shoot at (or get shot by) because the surveillance aircrafts don't seem to do anything and we don't have a radar station that could at least give us the approximate location of an enemy.
    In short, like wingaling has said... lots of time and skill investment for worse rewards than RB.

    Instead of waiting for Sim mode to be fixed just move to an actual flight Sim. You could try Il2 Great Battles, Il2 Cliffs of Dover, DCS, Il2 1946, Rise of Flight just to name a few. Try to ween yourself off of acquiring silver lions and RP. Once you play a game for the game itself instead of how much fake money you make you will have a better experience.

    I was an avid sim player. The sim player count has dropped so much it’s not worth the wait - I’ll tried mixed battles and it’s bad there too. Gaijin needs to put a small effort to improved the quality of the sim game. The odd thing is sim players are player vs player the ones able to drop more real money into the game than any other. I spend my time in DCS. But mixed sim if fun again would draw me back. Sim helis turret guns do not track track ir - but if you mouse n keys they track the mouse view; why? That’s just a small example showing an abandonment of the mode. I think nothing we say will change their mind. They want sim players to move to rb mode - which is arcade for them. They’ll just leave the game. The hit cameras and kill cameras have no place in sim if you can if curious how you got killed go watch the server replay to your hearts desire. So many stupid decisions made which seem just lazy or purposeful abandonment of the mode. Such a disappointment as sim is/could be a place for end game players to graduate to; but as it is they leave to iL2 or DCS. Good for the DCS community, but there’s no need for that.

    The sad thing is, War thunder will never change for the better based on community feedback. The opaque nature of all their reasoning of decision-making in the development has clearly shown their intention to milk the game for as long as possible. You only need to see how many games they made out of the same engine, and they are all of the same pay-to-unlock-much-faster nature, none with any effort to design core mechanics of game modes, mechanics, economy, and environments. The only thing that keeps veteran player playing is its concept. I played since 2015, with a few years of break in the middle. And even now I see on steam I have an achievement of destroying 400 player vehicles, which is only achieved by 5% of steam owners of the game. This gives a scope of how many of their accounts are just new players who bought a high-tier premium, got put off after losing a lot, and quit. I am sure they can see this with their data and they obviously don't care. At this point, I think we the veterans should all boycott it and let the game die for some time. this way at least they will realise their way of working will eventually kill the game.

    7:23 thats a good and bad idea, it rewards playing it fair but console players and some pc players will suffer from the amount of stuff u have to render and process, i was a ps4 player and u couldn't join a Sim air match if it had more than a 8v8 and in some maps u straight up crash the game

    Can i be honest? I think sim actually got WAY better since I started playing and now it's in a very good spot. The only real problems are br compression between 9.7 and 10.7 especially (but that's an overall problem with the whole game, not just sim) and the economy at higher tiers. Now that AAA are fixed I dont really see big problems in the gameplay compartment, it's mostly stuff that could easily be addressed if Gaijin wanted. But as someone pointed out, Gaijin doesnt realize they're sitting on a goldmine, there are many people that do want a more simulative approach but dont have the time or interest ti play DCS which is too complicated and not really suited for multiplayer.

      They need to buff rewards for sim, I loved playing sim but couldn’t justify how inefficient playing it is. Playing half an hour of RB gives as much reward as 2h of sim.

    When you first start tanks you get a few games where everyone is so awful you kill them all and don't lose your tank. 3 matches in a row I stomped the whole enemy team 8 12 kills etc. Then they clearly changed my matchmaking despite still being 1.0, put me with all other seal clubbers or worse, actual cheaters. They have advanced matchmaking they don't talk about.

    at this point just play DCS. Many sim players have VR or a HOTAS already and DCS modules cost almost just as much as WT planes... Despite the quality being 10x worse than in DCS.

    What do I think?
    I'm depressed.
    There are so many very easy fixes that can be done to drastically improve the game, but they aren't likely to happen.
    Fighting farm/botters is hard, though it's not like game isnt pushing towards that.
    High skill should be rewarded, but playing your role should be still rewarded too (and not just shooting 200 rockets to receive unproportional score and then j out because you are in s cheap premium)

    I am not all to content about the suggested changes which address realism, the removal of the global killfeed, surveillance aircraft giving away locations (although I do like the idea) & inaccessibleness of gunners are in my opinion not for WarThunder, WarThunder should be an "Arcade" Simulator, people who want more realism should/can go to DCS or IL-2 (which is more made for sim), there's no need to try to compete/emulate the "Hardcore/realistic" nature of those 2 games for a simulator of an arcade plane game.
    Furthermore, I am critical of the "Individual actions should pay more" aspect, while I obviously agree with it I am somewhat afraid of its implementation, bad Sim players (of which there are always a bunch) might be fucked over by this, the best way I could give an example is, press tab when in a sim lobby and look at the KD, you often find a wide range between high KDR fighters who shoot down plane after plane and the average guy who finally killed someone after 3 deaths. Putting a high empathize on individual action's could really put a damp on his reward output. (Same with high player lobbies paying better because it would force bad sim players to play with reduced rewards or have to worry about being farmed by an ace farming people)
    And finally the "Nation should only feel native planes" is simply stupid and the person who wrote this is probably a US/Soviet main first and foremost. It wouldn't make certain nations "incomplete" it would completely wipe them out, Germany would have 0 planes (except maybe the Tornado) after WW2, same with Japan, China essentially too (unless you don't count that), Italy gone too, France reduced, Sweden reduced, Israel reduced.
    INSTEAD, it should be a Faction vs Faction concept. NATO versus Warsaw pact + China. For Germany allow players to play on either side BEFORE joining and then restricting them to either West or East Germany.

      I main every single country and play them extensively. I give no presence to any particular nation, I love them all.
      The concept is a togglable option. Made when you create the lobby. Official lobbies would be unaffected. Player created lobbies would have their own preference. If you saw a player lobby that chose the option you don't like, simply don't play in it.
      The actual concept (which was edited down for brevity, but explained in much more detail tons of times before) is that a "Captured/Leased" aircraft would not be able to fly AGAINST the country that produced it. For example... the US Bf109 wouldn't be able to fly against Germany, but could be used against Japan. The German P-47 wouldn't be able to fly against the US but could be used against Russia.
      That restriction would only be in player made lobbies, and ONLY if the host selected it (when they are creating the room).
      As far as global kill feeds, surveillance aircraft mechanics, and inaccessibility of gunners... I'm not sure where your issue lies. WT is still an arcade. There is an arcade mode for it. But for Sim mode, these restrictions would be in place to preserve a lot of worthwhile functions of immersion and disparity of influence.
      As far as player reward metrics, I couldn't disagree with you more.
      Better performance should always equal better payout, period. 10 kills is harder than 2, and should reward appropriately, not be artificially capped in an obscure effort to curb farming and "grade of a curve".
      The simple fact that high performers are worth more to kill and low performers are worth less to kill is what specifically mitigates your concerns. It funnels aces toward targeting aces without forcing them to. It makes farming less viable and creates a buffer between the ever present disparity of skills. The better you are, the more of a target you should have painted on your back. Shooting down the number one dude might be a sincere challenge... but if he is worth considerably more points, it may be worth going for. Players who are doing badly, all of a sudden, become a risk v reward metric for the aces... yes, I can go down there and buzz saw some poor noob in half... but EVERYONE is already gunning for me. Is that noob down there worth diving after with all this completion (64 person lobbies) buzzing around up here and a bounty on my head? It is a passive way to stratefy skills in a manner that is sensible and supports immersion.

      Absolutely disagree with your comments regarding sim approaching realism.... I mean its called "simulator" for a dang reason. You are the pilot of the plane first and foremost, gunners give too much situational awareness, are too ahistorically accurate with mouse aim, and lend to uninteresting gameplay. You should incur the risks of the plane you choose to fly just as you incur the benefits. Wanna fly a bomber? Sure! But now you risk being shot down by fighters.
      Its already as easy as it can be; you have free info, gps location on your minimap, easy engine startup at the press of a button. Imagine actually having to learn or use your brain? Impossible!!! All these ww2 "history buffs" but suddenly learning a bit of nuance about flying an aircraft is impossible.
      While I do acknowledge that some instruments do not work on some aircraft, and some are incorrect, we can have it as an option for people to toggle on: maybe even giving more rewards.
      To address your "go play dcs" comment. You should probably go play Air RB. It has all those things you don't want removed. The point of sim is to provide a completely different experience from Air RB and attract people who are more into the simulation aspects of aviation. The game has all these planes that many other simulators do not have. Where else would I fly a P-63, or a Japanese ki-84? Simulator should be more "simulator" and less "RB with cockpits but without markers". If its too hard for you, theres a stepping stone; Air RB. Its ok if its hard, not everyone gets it the first time.
      Yes individual actions should be rewarded.... I'll take whatever you are smoking. An easy solution to bad players is useful actions combined with rewards for individual actions. Cant shoot someone down? Go take out a few tanks and do some useful actions.
      To address your "native planes" comment; Some people want historical battles... Is it too much to just add that as an option? The game prides itself on being historical, it should at least exemplify it in some way.
      I get you're thinking about the lowest common denominator, but when does the handholding stop?
      I do agree with your faction v faction tho.

    I remember literally years ago a youtuber named GateNomes/Adeptus1 complaining about Sim being neglected... his youtube channel is gone now, was an incredible resource for anyone using PS4 controller and trying to set it up.. it's such a shame.

Last week ran into one so damn blatant Ray Charles could tell, he had a truly insane K/D ratio with the premium Tiger and was one shotting multiple planes out of the sky...with the 88mm. Tracking targets through buildings, leading targets he had no damn way of knowing was there, and when was the last time Gaijin put out a ban list? Oh yeah nearly 3 years ago.

    I think farming has reduced alot over the last 6 months. One major boost would be to reduce the AAA on the tasks. The carrier is untouchable with torpedoes. You cannot get anywhere near. The mini bases are nearly untouchable - you can't have a decent dog fight near one. The convoys have been untouchable for a long time.
    If they made it easier for people to " farm" ground targets (no easy feat without AAA) then the game play would be instantly better. We would have easy targets in fighters. The bombers and attackers would enjoy the game instead of the brain dead runway bombing - The winning and losing would hinge more on accurate bombing.
    I've sent many bug reports to Gaijin.. None have been fixed.... There is a Mangrove in Dover port.... I think it's there to stay

    A very well worder piece with a great many valid points, i share many of them, but my own personal view on WT is a little more general and a little less articulate.
    I think that the game needs to be completely reset and re balanced. Arcade needs to go. Realistic should become the new Arcade. Sim should become the new Realistic. And the new Sim should be something like DCS, where planes have actual physics which allow you to merge rather than planes that perform imposible maneouvers and never lose energy in a turn or climb. Oh and repeat spawn campers should be secretely put into games with all the other repeat spawn campers. I'd rather pay good money to see that match than pay for a premium account again. .

    The main problem for me is the economy. You should be able to grind the game by playing any non-custom game mode. Why is (On Average) Arcade +RP +SL, Realistic +RP +SL, Assault +RP +SL, Sim is +RP -SL, why? Imagine playing Valorant Or CS but if you play quickplay you lose XP LOL.

    They certainly have and they are right to do so. And I prefer sim style. But fact is, that no part of WT has ever been to simulation standards. With the more recent addition of planes with radars and radar homing missiles, it has shifted the goalposts even further. There is no way gaijin would ever do anything that resembles radar behaviour simulation or program in how to actually use any of these instruments that vary from plane to plane. So what is the point of having "a sim" that is nowhere close to being a sim? Same goes for ground radar and other weapon targeting systems. It's complete fiction with weird views and features. So why would they spend time and money to cater to a tiny minority of players? Simultaneously, why would anyone with a HOTAS system and head tracking put hours into WT?
    From my view, the mouse control is what WT brought. I like it - I don't have to take it seriously, plug everything in.. I can just have an experience that mildly resembles aviation. Had they managed to build a fun game around it, they would've struck gaming gold. Likewise, when I feel like playing a simulation, I actually want it to be a high fidelity one. I do not care if there are a million planes, just a few done well will suffice. Easily.
    Too bad they never turned it into anything but an endless deathmatch and WWII pokemon collection. Adding just endless amounts of more crap to drive has just made it a complete mess that is not even fun for casual gameplay.

    And here I am in 2023 still waiting for them to add proper 4k support so plane dots are not literal single pixels on my screen. Proper DLSS support so it doesn't look like a smear. As well proper UI scaling support so I can see more than 2 lines of chat at a time.
    And don't get me started on how imbalanced it is to not have a skill matchmaking system for EC. I can't tell you how many lobbies I have seen killed by some 100 day sim pilot camping an airfield and refusing to back off when people such as myself ask nicely. In AB and RB the toxicity sort of evenly spreads out across all players. But in SB the toxicity almost always centers around that veteran sim pilot who for whatever reason likes to flex on bombers trying to escape RB hell, or new players who don't even have a single airplane kill yet.

    1:27 When i realized gaiyjn made the sim (arcade++ 1st person) like that few years ago, I immediately left the game and focused on DCS World. Which game has a system like that? Play to lose money, and use another game to feed your main game. WTF man? Stop torturing yourselves people! Even premium account + premium plane not gonna save you! You will always lose billions by playing SIM (arcade++ 1st person). Its like that for many years. Dont be fooled by very rare good matches with boosters. It will never gonna work!
    If you like missile thunder start learning DCS. If you like Warbirds try DCS or IL-2.
    Escape from that addiction! Feel the fresh air again and save yourself from that nightmare!

    Honestly speaking, I think SB is a very niche community and low enough playerbase that Gaijin aren't dedicated to bettering it. Call it the "Titanfall Issue", which is a damn shame because SB is quite a lot of fun IF you have a premium jet. I think many would likely fly out the Vipers and the Mirages more if they lowered the repair but Gaijin did it because some "Grinding lobbies" ruined the statistics.
    Also regarding SL, you don't really need to play naval, I've played enough games in the F-16 ADF and the Block 10 to have made 4 mil SL since its release and I don't even have a premium account. Granted I'm a very good air RB player.

    Sim is honestly in a bad state. I always used to play Sim for fun with no grind in mind at all but playing was always costing me money. I hate the new economy system for sim so much since I basically get nothing now (I didn't get much before but now I really get nothing). Gaijin did a good move with the rotating BR change because it made certain planes viable which weren't viable for other times, but Toptier still sucks I have the F-104G, Tornado, Phantom, and the MiG 21, but all of them are a pain, I can't even play the MiG 21 because all of them are above 10.7 and as such have to deal with F-14's, F-16's and what not (the only MiG 21 being 10.0 is conveniently the Premium one). The problem is the top BR bracket which goes from 9.7 (up to 10.7) till 12.0 which is just ridiculous, they need to split this up too, something like 9.7- 10.7 & 11.0-12.0

    To those asking gaijob to bring historical mode:
    making people grind planes gives them profits... you either have to allow premium planes in historical battles (then you end up people complaining about historical accuracy) or don't, and not make any money.
    gaijob isn't charity unfortunately.
    Sim has way too much competition in the market with not many people actually playing due to setup difficulty (lack of user pool) and development needed with sims. there are many flightsim (not sure about tanksim, would be interesting if someone can research this) out there that outdoes WT.. basically, it's return on investment problem for gaijin and their developers.
    you can either make more premium content paywall to keep your company afloat (I reckon WT userbase is dropping so gaijin will be pressured to monetize more content), or don't and close.

    the bomber one hit me different i hate the people that go around in their bombers and assault people with a 3rd person view. i see this problem in the following aircraft: be 6, ju 288, b 25, b 17, pe 8, and me 264. It annoys me to the 9th dimension ill be in a dogfight only to be absolutely annihilated by a bomber.

    I used to be a big Sim player, but the death nail for me was ending a Sim game with a 200 000SL loss, while being on top of the scoreboard.
    DCS is now the place to find me.

      Unfortunatley DCS performance in VR sucks hugely in multiplayer. DCS needs much better cpu optimization. I have the game but can't play with my GTX3080ti/10900K cpu PC. So I'm stuck with warthunder!!

      @@vracan DCS has now gone Multi threading. The VR performance is SO MUCH BETTER! I have an extra 10FPS standard
