Nice piece, came out beautifully. The rolling filing cabinet's are a hard piece to find at a reasonable price. You really found a gem. Thank you for showing us how you can turn something from trash to treasure.
This came out so great! I love how the paint color kind of has a metallic feel. And I didn’t know you could order a key like that! Thanks for posting. I saw a video from you a long time ago and it really inspired me to paint furniture. It was a pink desk 💕
Wow, thank you so much for the tutorial. Now I am going to look for a cabinet. Great idea for storing items, organizing office and even using in a child's room for storage. Anything goes!!
Definitely! I have a pile of metal cabinets that I'll be making over to put in my shed! I'm addicted to buying them when I see them at the thrift store! Especially the smaller two-drawer ones!
I'm addicted to second hand stores oh my God they've just got everything that you can use and manipulate to make it your own and you totally rock that is so cool what you did I'm going to run out and try to find me one like that we have a restore place where I live now in Casper Wyoming and I cannot wait to get in there to find goodies
I love going to savers, I got a 2 drawer file cabinet on wheels it was in a bad shape, I used rustoleum paint on it after using the rust remover, and then put some padding and a cover on the top. It doubles as a file with a small drawer and a sitting area. I would like to find one of those filing cabinets. Keep up the great Makeovers. Love it
Savers in Las Vegas (summerlin location, I’m calling you out) would have marked that $30. Because that what google says. I’m happy you found a cabinet at a great price.
METAL CABINETS , ARE GREAT TO REPURPOSED FOR A LOT OF DIFFERENT USEFUL THINGS , AND THIS HELPS KEEPING THEM OUT OF EARTHS LANDFILLS ... SO REPURPOSED AS MUCH OF METAL ---- METAL ---- METAL ---- AS WE ALL CAN ...
You should have just removed the casters. It is easier to paint without them and you don't get paint on them. They just pop off and pop on, so easy peasy. I've done a rehab on a similar file and did this with it. Of course, yours turned out better and, in my home, I would have it in a purple/lavender color. 🙂
Totally agree!! But everything is taking way slow. I'm thinking of just hiring the cement company to come back and make a ramp + stairs. It will be one less thing to worry about trying to squeeze in!
Hi, I’m seriously thinking about reupholstering a winged back chair. I remember watching your videos a couple of years back. Have you continued to reupholster furniture? 💜
I wish that you and others that like to use A LOT OF Spray PAINT Would buy the gadget that [opos on top of any spray can and saves the finger😂 love mine had for 10 years. It's not expensive!
You don't need to use a chemical rust remover.. it's completely unnecessary to use a caustic chemical like that..simply use brillo or a 120 grit sand paper

That would fit a sewing machine so perfectly
OMG, yes! So funny you mention that, because this week I'm making over my $40 thrifted solid oak sewing cabinet!! :)
@@ThriftDiving ooooh, I hope we get to see that project soon!
Yes! Back to your youtube roots. This turned out very very nice.
Yeeeesss! :) I enjoyed this makeover!

WOW!! Don't worry about the triffted stuff. It's better and last b years longer!! God Bless!! Martha
The thrifted stuff is the good stuff! All the new stuff is so crappy!
I don't use Instagram, as many don't, so we're just out of luck. Thanks for all your projects !!
Finally some Thrift Diving again! love it!
I always feel that finishing the bottom, back, or any other "hidden" area of a project is what takes it from "good" to "great". :)

Love this video Serena. Also love how you control your projects and completely unafraid to go outside of the box and try new things.
I love Savers. You almost always leave the store with at least something.
Wow, thank you so much for the tutorial. Now I am going to look for a cabinet. Great idea for storing items, organizing office and even using in a child's room for storage. Anything goes!!
I loved this makeover. It turned out great! I like the fact that it is on wheels. Also I like that it is metal.
Upcycling makes me so happy! The cabinet looks great Serena.

Nice job. I wouldn’t have looked twice at this.
YES YES YES ; I SAY TO ALSO ---- ALWAYS REDO THE WHOLE ITEM ---- PIECE ---- TOP TO BOTTOM ...
Love the colour combination. Turned out amazingly! 😲💕
YES YES YES , GREAT IDEA RESTORING METAL CABINETS , THERE ARE A LOT OF METAL ONES AROUND TO BE REUSED ....
Gotta give metal stuff at the shops a second look now!
Definitely! I have a pile of metal cabinets that I'll be making over to put in my shed! I'm addicted to buying them when I see them at the thrift store! Especially the smaller two-drawer ones!
I must say I like how you don’t try hide things that go as planned that why I like watching you do your projects

Awesome! I have a metal cart(maybe an old tea cart that I want to refinish. I saved it from the dumpster.
I wish we had a Savers. I absolutely loved that place when I went to California some years ago.

I ❤️❤️❤️ Savers.
Me too! They're my favorite place, and where I live, the prices are so affordable!

Very nice!😊
The pallet needs to go. Time to get a proper landing and steps in front of those shed doors. 😀
Totally agree!! But everything is taking way slow. I'm thinking of just hiring the cement company to come back and make a ramp + stairs. It will be one less thing to worry about trying to squeeze in!
@@ThriftDiving, a concrete landing is an excellent choice.
מקסים, עבודה יפה מאוד😍

No topcoat?

You can use brillo or sandpaper but I like using rust remover when I see rust, to make sure that I clean it up well.
🙂🙂👍👍
