Amazing job man! I love the level of detail you go into. These “Lost Years” of GN’R really fascinate me. I hope to one day get my hands on a copy of “The Village Sessions”. I’m especially curious to hear the original version of “Perhaps”.
CD is a great album. A statement really, to Axl's talent and perfectionism. What came out after being 10 years in the making and many many very talented people involved is a very unique and big sounding album that I now truly appreciate.
I’m sorry man. Truth be told I worked on this while I was on paternity leave for my daughter. Now im back to work and struggling to find time. Don’t worry, it’ll be up next week :)
bro where have you been? Been checking everyday to see if you made part 2 of this.....or the village leak video you were gonna do. Still nothing. Are you all done?
Truth is in the middle in my opinion. I know the stories of them telling Axl he had 2-3 good songs. Of course they wanted slash back in the band. Axl is notoriously hard to work with. And pretty insecure in ways. He played his part in the album not being released until 2008. He went into fucking hiding for a full year after the release in 2008, refusing to do any promotion for the album.
@@WestCoastStruttin99 I agree with the 2008 stuff, but he turned in a record at least 3 times before they went with it. Can you imagine how frustrating that is? And losing guys like Finck, Freese, bucket along the way, having it blamed on you, letting those guys down, and really it was beyond his control?
Axl really needs to release his autobiography to clear these things up 100%. I think band members were leaving because Axl was hardly in the picture. He barely spent time with the band, the vibe was just off. He’d show up in the middle of the night after the band all left the studio. His actions were pretty bizarre imo at those times
Chinease democracy Great album but was very thin knowing about songs like The General Hard skool OG Eye on you ATLAS shrugged And more could of been on the album
You gotta do part two bro this is good sh1t

The released “Perhaps” is far superior. “Absurd” is too. “Hard Skool”? Meh.

Had a kid, number 2, so I’ve been really busy. Part 2 in the next week or 2

It’s not axl holding back. That story’s been debunked. It was the record company holding it back (Iovine & Ezrin specifically)

Yeah, it was definitely planned to be a double album by Axl.
I agree. He said so multiple times. @@WestCoastStruttin99
I wouldn’t mind hard skool and perhaps replacing scraped and riad. Good point about Atlas too.
@@Jffeeney3rd man I fucking love Scraped!
@@WestCoastStruttin99 it’s weird. It’s my least favorite on the album, and I wish it was replaced by Atlas..BUT I always rock out to it.
