Pretty straight forward explanation...maybe a little light on post operative pain management, but a really helpful video. I have a 5.5cm X 5.3cm X 3.3cm tumor in my right Anterior Temporal Lobe (Temporal Pole) and somehow, don't ask me how, I suspect the "It takes Steel to Heal" phenomenon is in my future. Your video was very helpful, Thank You.

the most horrific experience I have ever had. I am a doctor myself for 35 years. I called as a new patient with a chronic spinal condition that's been getting worse. clear cut established diagnosis. they refused to book me unless I send a new MRI, have the doctor review it and decide If my condition deserve his attention. which I did all of the above. the radiologist that read the MRI even called the doctor to convey how bad the progression of my case has gotten. still no booking, no call back, nothing. I called again begging for an appointment as I couldn't sleep for 3 weeks from the pain. still no response for merely an appointment. it has been 5 days of me calling after fulfilling all their needs. and still not even giving me an appointment. if they do that to someone in urgent need let alone a "colleague" what they will do to other patients. if they made enough money not to care to take new patients, at least be honest and say we don't take new patients instead of jerking them around for days while they are in pain. they simply don't care.

I was told the surgery would be quite easy to manage pain. I'd like to find the surgeon and give em a piece of my mind....

I would politely suggest to you that the Surgeon in question already has a piece of your mind. I'm looking having a brain tumor removed in the next month (or so) so I am pre-emptively making fun of myself. Let's see who's laughing last. I hope you are doing well and continue to get better.

Brain surgery inevitably damages healthy tissue to varying, but not insignificant degrees (during the surgical advance to the tumor mass residing within the brain). Gliosis and neuronal death is common. What strategies are employed by the surgical team to reduce chronic neuro-cognitive sequela in patients to the absolute possible minimum?

My experience with my sister is far worse than what you're describing. It would be appreciated if you could speak to memory loss, dementia symptoms for those with more aggressive cancers like gleoblastoma. Not to rude, but sugar coating post op recovery is heartwrenching when caring for those who are not recovering well. 😢
