Hi bro... I want to tell you something... I put my ks0 pro working inside the refrigerator...with tswift firmware...But unfortunately...it does not work with any oc...only work with the stock firmware
That’s a first time I heard of do you have a photo of your setup that you can share on my discord. That’s sounds crazy but I want to see. I’ve seen GPUs in the freezer before but the freezer was not able to keep up cooling it down.

Yes, latest batch ks0pros has this issue. I have 2 that do that not takes 3-4 times power reset before starts hashing, after that runs like a charm.

You can’t really know the temperature of the mosfets unless you use the pbfarmer firmware.
I need to try that pbfarmer firmware but I doubt it will help, thermal camera won’t lie. I have other ks0-pro with small heatsinks running 340GH and ambient temp 80-90. This unit is my unlucky so I call “bad” mosfet unit.

You tried to implement my solution, but: my radiator is longer, the base is thinner and I have an air-conditioned room at 18 degrees Celsius. At 300GH they work perfectly, memory temperature 45-50 degrees. I too have done many tests and tried many updates and the conclusions are: 1. Radiators must have as large a surface as possible to dissipate heat as quickly as possible 2. better ventilation and (if possible) 3. air conditioning. My miners stay in a room of 1.5 x 2m and 18 degrees. And last but not least, 300 = +50% compared to the factory, I think it is enough to run stably for a long time. I told you that I will post a clip with my changes during the next cleaning, but since the room is airtight and very clean, this will take a little longer. Good luck!
Ambient temp is a gold, if I had a luxury to keep it in conditioned space would be no problem. It works great with ambient temps below 75F on 320GH and can probably get to 340GH with air temp below 65-70F. I have other units running 340GH and ambient temps 85-90 for over 3 month now with no issues and just 10x10 heatsinks this is a units with a “bad” mosfet I call
@@DontMindMeMining i don't want to risk over 300, this is my safety limit ! :) i use only rtx 3090 turbo for 3 years whitout service, memory temp @ max 80 and still work perfect ! Cool & clean !
@@DontMindMeMining did you grind down the 10x10 ones at the base or just put it over the mosfets with a bunch of thermal glue over other components near the mosfet? Also ur on 12v for those right?
Yeah agree, My 3080 and 3090 run non-stop in the attic with AC for over 2 years but keep them below 75C on memory and below 65C on core
First set 10x10 I grind the base down but then someone commented that used full base and worked fine with full base on all the rest of 6 ks0pros. Glue only on the mosfet (of course it come out on the sides a little when squeezed) but it’s not touching any other components.
10:13 Might the thermal paste that overflowed cause some heat issue to the components that it touches ?
Don’t think other component creating the heat besides mosfets. Ambient temp is a solution for “bad” mosfets

thats is true but the mosfets shut down before anything else can heat up.
And just a suggestion. But if you plan to show your browser in future videos you might wish to install an ad blocker.

I don’t think it makes much difference to be honest unless you want to play around with any unstable slop pros but wouldn’t waste time. I have 3 more of these already cut sticks but I don’t want to do it on other machines.
To be clear. Did you only give the thermal glue 4 hours to set?

Have you thought about planing down the base of that heat sink? I'd be gaming to mill
down the base thickness even less then the little 6.5mm square you have
Imo base thickness doesn’t matter but I could be wrong.
@@DontMindMeMining I have to tear apart one of my KS0 towers to check on the well being of to of the boys. I'll mill 2 sets of 10s and glue them and see what the results are. They're having trouble staying on so I think I shall just solder 3 wires to the fuses to be sure their getting enough power (and THAT continuity is best).
@@DontMindMeMining Excuse me for asking, but didn't you find 19 volts is useless compared to 12 volts?
Running one ks0pro on 19v much better, but for 10 I figure 12v setup is much more convenient considering I already have server psu available and don’t have to buy 19v PSUs for my setup.

I’m not using pbfarmer firmware to see correct mosfet temp but thermal camera will not lie.
think you can mod an avalon nano 3?
If there is hot spots that can be better cooled pretty sure it’s possible not sure though since I haven’t used Avalon nano 3
