What program do you use to print? Is there a reason you don’t print from the iPad? (My computer isn’t great so I try to avoid usuing it unless mandatory) but I could not figure out how to scale the print size on the iPad
okay, I was super excited to try this method but my prints and cut keep being misaligned. It's not because I'm off by a few mm but it seems that my print is smaller than my cut (the cut goes wider both the left, right, top and bottom than what it's supposed to be). What confuses me is that I use the same png to print and cut, so I can't figure out why it would seemingly print smaller or cut bigger. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
It sounds like a scaling issue, so my initial thought is that when you print it, make sure the scale is 100% (if your printer doesn’t do borderless then you won’t see the little boxes in the corner print out which is perfectly fine, mine doesn’t do borderless either). You just have to make sure to print the png at 100% scale. Then in cricut maker just double check that you scaled your png to whatever your paper size is. If your cricut is cutting the little squares right at the edge of your paper, then your cricut is scaled correctly and it’s just an issue with your print scale. Let me know if that helped, otherwise we can brainstorm more fixes together!
@@awildfaun133 that's what I thought too but my print settings are set to 'borderless'. So I'm not sure what else it could be. Also, the squares are cut out correctly.
@@alongcameanelephantmarloan9212 I’m wondering if borderless and scaling it to 100% are the same though? I’m not positive. Do you have a scale option? This might sound weird but you could also just measure how big your stickers are if you know how big you made them in procreate. If they measure smaller when printed then your printer’s scaling is the issue
@@awildfaun133 hmm I’ll try and figure that one out. I have tried putting it 100% but then the print file is incredibly zoomed in. I also notice there’s a button checked that says ‘scale to paper’ which I cannot seem to switch off as I thought that might be the issue…
@@alongcameanelephantmarloan9212 hmmm that could be the issue. I’m not super knowledgeable on printers so I’m not really sure though. I’m sorry 😢 Please let me know if you get it to work or have any other questions. I’ll do my best to brainstorm with you! Best of luck!!
I didn’t like the Joyeza paper either!! I’m returning it today lol. I got those labels too but I feel their paper is too thin and I don’t like it for my sticker sheets. They have great shipping and such, but I found j and j packaging on Amazon and it’s thick and nice nice vinyl on it. Thank you for sharing this video too I hate the cricut print and cut I find it lowers the resolution of my art too particularly if it’s vector… something you can do with the matte paper is after it’s printed put a laminate sheet on it to protect it and make it shiny.
When printing on glossy sticker paper/vinyl, it helps to lower the opacity of the graphic before you print, and to adjust sat/vibrancy accordingly! I like to do mine at ~85% opacity, 75 if there’s a lot of dark colors. That way they’re still visible and you can see the shading, and it’s a close color match :>
Happy to hear it! I used a 0.25 inch grid size on a 8.5 x 11 inch canvas :) if it doesn’t come out even on the edges, I believe you can tap the center dot on the grid to recenter it
How do you know that the black boxes are a quarter inch 😅 my drawing guide isn’t quite in line with the dimensions of the page and it’s messing with my OCD and I try to change the dimensions of the square but the measurements come up as PX? Not cm/inches 😂🤔
If you’re working in procreate, make sure your file is 8.5” x 11” (or whatever your typical papers size is). Procreate has the option to recenter the drawing guide and switch it to inches. I guess if your paper size is different like a4 or something, you could change the grid to be 0.5cm so that the grid would fit correctly. I really hope this helps but let me know if you have any other questions! It doesn’t have to be exactly a quarter inch. It’s really just used to bound the edges of your sheet so when you put it into cricut maker you can size is correctly
I definitely could, for now though I'll try to explain it as best I can. In procreate, I create a new layer under my sticker, then using the rectangular selection tool I make a rectangle for the tea bag shape. To make the slants at the top, you can either just erase the corners or use the selection tool, turn it 45 degrees and remove the corners (your choice). Where the wing extends from the tea bag shape, I just used the hard airbrush to create the white outline. If you hold your pen down after drawing an arc, procreate will allow you to tweak the shape which is really helpful :) then it's just a matter of filling in the entire shape with white so cricut will know where to cut your stickers. I hope this helps a bit!
@@awildfaun133 Thank you kindly for the info. I, am not familiar with this technique, so I did not understand. But...again thank you for the info and reply. really appreciate it. I will probably re read and re read and maybe figure it out. lol.

In a later video of mine (how to make sticker sheets, m.ruclips.net/video/Qim_reDJ_fA/видео.html) I show another way to make outlines for stickers if you’re interested. You could use that way of outlining to make the overlapping wing part and then add whatever solid shape (like the tag) to the sticker outline
Loved your video and thanks for sharing! I think I will give Procreate a try as I have been using Inkscape and like to try different programs for the same projects to see which works better. I make bath products and need waterproof for my scrubs and have an upper end pro inkjet printer. For weatherproof/waterproof inkjet labels just an FYI. Even though they say weatherproof/waterproof 'INKJET' they always still need a coating on them to have them (the ink) protected from the water because ink is a dye most often. You can use just about any waterproofing spray after you have printed. There are a few youtube videos that demo the process. Tremclad makes a good one. I personally like "Neverwet". Spray the whole sheet, Let them dry and then cut. The other option is a clear laminate over your stickers. You can get matte or gloss. Using an 8.5 by 11 sheet of clear sticker paper works great to protect the ink. The only way to get a true waterproof label is with a laser printer and weather/waterproof laser labels. I called online labels and had a really informative rep take the time to explain the ins and outs of inkjet vs laser when it comes to waterproof labels. Looking forward to more of your videos!
Thank you so much for all the helpful info! I’ll definitely look into Neverwet. I tried online labels’ weatherproof gloss sticker paper and LOVE it! Highly recommend!
@@awildfaun133 :D happy to help. Maybe you can do another vlog/tutorial on the same project and test out the spray ;D just sayin'! I am just in the testing phase myself with waterproof labels which is part of why your video was helpful. I have some samples coming of online labels' weatherproof gloss white and clear inkjet sticker paper and looking forward to trying it out. I am in the process of purchasing a colour laser printer as well to have for those product specific labels I need to be truly waterproof but avoid the process of a second step as my volume of labels needed just wouldn't make it reasonable for me to use that process. I will always keep my inkjet though for my other labels.
Hi! I still don't get what those registration marks are really for (even after watching a bunch of videos) as the machine does not seem to register them. Is it just to have a virtual frame around the design to be sure to resize it correctly in DS?
That’s strange that the machine isn’t registering them. Their purpose is to have a way of knowing where the edges of the file are so when you add the file to cricut’s design space you can resize it correctly. It’s equivalent to having a solid line all the way around the file to know where the edges are, but in reality you only need two corners marked to bound the length and width ratio of your file. If the boxes in the corner weren’t there, when resizing the file, cricut would have the edge of the file be at an edge of a sticker’s silhouette. Thus the scale wouldn’t match what you print out (the cricut would cut the stickers bigger and unaligned compared to the actual print out). If your machine still isn’t registering them but the scale is working and matching with your print, I wouldn’t worry about it. Let me know if that makes more sense! If not, I’m happy to try and reexplain it :)
@@awildfaun133 thank you so much for your detailed answer. I will do some experiments myself and think about it again - I'm still on a very steep place of the learning curve :-) love your designs btw!
I did! I used cricut’s built in calibration for print and cut (even though it’s not reading registration marks for this full sheet technique) but it definitely helps. I also make sure to push my mat to the left when loading it because when loading it can wiggle left or right a bit.
So when you cut anything on the cricket the program automatically shifts the edge of the cuts about 1/4 inch away from edge of the grid on the cricket mat. If you were to ask the cricket to cut out a square and in the cricut cutting program you had it align perfectly with the top left corner, then when you go to actually cut it out, the program will shift it that 1/4 inch to the right and down to give itself a small border. The tape is mapping out the border that cricut automatically puts in for any cuts that it makes so we know exactly where to put our sheet of paper. I hope that makes sense! It’s a little tricky to explain through writing.
Thank you for this video! Question, do you still calibrate your cricut in PRINT AND CUT, or since you will not be printing do you calibrate it only KNIFE tool?
You’re welcome! I still calibrate it using the print and cut option. I would do the calibration with the knife tool but I learned that that’s different than the fine point blade (I believe that’s what it’s called). So my machine doesn’t let me do the calibration for the knife tool since I don’t have one. If you do have a knife tool though by all means try out that calibration option. I’m sure they both work well for this technique!
First your artwork is beautiful. Second thank you for the tutorial, I don't like the waste of paper either. I have a pile of scrap sticker paper and I am trying to figure out what to do with it because I don't want to throw it away.
Thank you so so much!!! I’m glad I could help 😊 I use my leftover sticker paper scraps (from before I started using this hack) to make labels for organizing things. Just need a sharpie and some scissors! (Not the most professional looking but it gets the job done 😅)
I love the organizing tip. I use my to make strips using my rolling rubber stamps and regular rubber stamps. I also cut the thin strips and in between scraps into tiny pieces and use them to tape down a folded letter, before I add a wax seal. Strips work wonders to replace tape too. I blend color across it before stamping.
I’ve tried so many times but when my cricut has to cut them it doesn’t follow the lines of my stickers. It cuts them on too of the image or leaving a lot of white border from one side. Can you please help me? :( I follow all the steps
My suggestion would be trying to recalibrate your cricut using the print and cut calibration (even though this isn’t print and cut). Then I would double check to see if you’re printing at 100% scale and see if your printer has borderless printing (if that’s enabled it might be making the print scale differently). My printer doesn’t do borderless so I just print at 100% scale. Let me know if it’s still not working and we can brainstorm more fixes together
I have seen this and they used Inkscape. I’m so happy to know you don’t have to use that. It does not work well with my computer for some reason. I have not used Procreate, but I’m wondering if you can use Canva. I’ll have to check out procreate.
As long as you have your canvas size match your paper size and get the little calibration squares in the corners of the canvas, I’m sure this hack could work in any program. If you try it in Canva, let me know how it goes! I’ve never used that program before
@@awildfaun133 I will. And thanks again for sharing how you did this. I would love to see more tutorials on Canva, if you ever do any, that would be awesome!
So I show it better in my latest video about how to make sticker sheets (around the 8:30 timestamp). What I do is use the rectangular selection tool, and select a 0.25”x0.25” square in the corner, using the grid as a guide. Then I just fill that square selection with color (any color is fine, I used black here). I hope this helps!
Hmmm I wonder if there’s a way to factory reset the machine. Then you could make sure your blade is in correctly, and recalibrate your machine. Otherwise I’d check to make sure everything is aligned to the 0,0 point in cricut maker. I hope you get it to work!
@@awildfaun133 - There is an old (rather old) version of Photoshop (CS2) which has all the functions I needed so far and it's completely free. It worked perfectly with all the flyers and posters I had to design so far.
Hmmm sounds like something isn't lining up. I'd double check to see if all of your files match the paper size you're using. So when I print out the page (not through cricut's print and cut option, but just printing it from the png file) I always have to make sure it's scaled 100%. And then in cricut's design space I make sure that the cut file is scaled properly too (I use 8.5x11" paper so I make sure that's correct). I don't know if it's 100% necessary but in cricut's design space I make sure to position my files to the top left corner (under position: x: 0 & y: 0). My only other suggestion would be to remake your masking tape guide on the cutting mat itself. When you make the rectangle in cricut design space (for whatever size paper, I use 8.5x11") make sure it's also positioned in the top left corner. Sorry that was so long! XD Let me know if it still doesn't work for you. I'm always happy to help!
This was happening to me. I followed her instructions and I was getting frustrated lol I have an HP printer. When you are making sure it's printing at 100% make sure there are no margins. Every printer is different so its definitely not her fault. I turned off my margins and everything looks better! Thank you @awildfaun for the great tutorial!
I haven’t size my paper is 8.5” x 11”. I’m sure it’ll work with any sized paper (as long as it’s not bigger that the cutting mat 😅) You just have to make sure your png file is also set to be A4 and that you print at 100% scale so the stickers remain the same size as you made them in procreate. Let me know if this helps!

That’s wonderful advice! Thank you so much! I noticed when I print dark blues on glossy paper they don’t look quite right so I’ll have to try this 😊
Hi! This is super helpful thank you!! Can I ask what grid size on the drawing guide you used to get it even around the edges?? Thanks x
Happy to hear it! I used a 0.25 inch grid size on a 8.5 x 11 inch canvas :) if it doesn’t come out even on the edges, I believe you can tap the center dot on the grid to recenter it
@@awildfaun133 ahh thank you!! Very helpful x
@@SofiesSpectrum you’re welcome! 😊
It’s really just used to bound the edges of your sheet so when you put it into cricut maker you can size is correctly
could you show how you make the tag...the tag with the part that shows the extra on the wings
I will probably re read and re read and maybe figure it out. lol.
@@mariahub I’ll try to make a video for it at some point.
@@zumselman you’re welcome! Good luck with your experiments :) feel free to ask any other questions. I’m always happy to help! And thank you!
Did you align or whatever it’s called to make sure your machine is right in line?
I did! I used cricut’s built in calibration for print and cut (even though it’s not reading registration marks for this full sheet technique) but it definitely helps. I also make sure to push my mat to the left when loading it because when loading it can wiggle left or right a bit.
Super helpful thank you. Love your artwork
Thank you so much! I’m happy I could help :)
What is the purpose of the tape on the mat exactly? I see so many doing it but no actual explanation as to why
Hello, what's your camera and the lens you used?
I use the canon g7x mark ii with its default lens 😊
@@awildfaun133 thank you! I did the recalibration. Will pay attention to the border less option
@@patriciadona5002 let me know if you get it to work!
How to you make those black corners??
So I show it better in my latest video about how to make sticker sheets (around the 8:30 timestamp). What I do is use the rectangular selection tool, and select a 0.25”x0.25” square in the corner, using the grid as a guide. Then I just fill that square selection with color (any color is fine, I used black here). I hope this helps!
I am so sad.. No tutorial works for me.. My Cricut is cutting offset.. And I dont know why...
Hmmm I wonder if there’s a way to factory reset the machine. Then you could make sure your blade is in correctly, and recalibrate your machine. Otherwise I’d check to make sure everything is aligned to the 0,0 point in cricut maker. I hope you get it to work!
i love the sticker paper from onlinelables.com -- vinyl/waterproof and matte/glossy.
Me too!!! That’s what I use now!
Thank you for this video! I’ve recently been testing out my circuit maker for stickers, and the size limit is really annoying
I find the size limit so silly which is why I love this hack! I hope you will too!
Finally someone doing stuff the same way I am!!! Procreate is so much easier than Photoshop in my opinion!
I 100% agree! Plus photoshop is expensive 😅
@@awildfaun133 - There is an old (rather old) version of Photoshop (CS2) which has all the functions I needed so far and it's completely free. It worked perfectly with all the flyers and posters I had to design so far.
@@zumselman That’s wonderful that there’s a free version! I never knew about it, thank you!
Hey i tried this tutorial from the start an still when i printed then cut it came off by like about .5 inches
@@crystalrodriguez6693 I’m happy you got it to work! It’s difficult when all printers work slightly differently

They are adorable. Maybe it's because it's the paper that is weather proof, not the ink printed on it. 🤷♀️
I’m guessing that’s the case. If I wanted those to be fully waterproof I would have had to laminate them. But I tried onlinelabels’ weatherproof gloss and they worked perfectly!
