that’s not silicone on the solenoid, that’s the paint chipping from the gasket, they come with a paint finish not sure why or how that helps with sealing.
It wasn't boosted, I pulled the engine myself. I think the main culprit was the headers being crushed in so that they would fit. It restricted exhaust flow enough in that cylinder and caused the bearing to seize up.
I just bought a used 06 g35 coupe and I heard 05-06 it has the revup engine but for some reason it has a VQ35DE engine. I’m guessing the previous owner swapped it. Is that for better or for worse?
Unfortunately, I ended up parting that engine out. My plan was to rebuild it and put it back in that blue g35, but I ended up never getting the title form the person I bought it from. I will definitely be doing a VQ build in the future. My black g35 has 200k miles so it is only a matter of rime before that engine gives.
W homie for teaching him while working
Did this . Was happy/sad situation.
I swear as a G35 owner this engine with a revised and cleaner wiring harness would make working and maintaining this thing 100x easier…
100% true

I spun the same bearing on mine.
Thanks for the video. Make one for the 08 g35 hr engine
Why would he get rod knock, and why get headers lol, he musta had a turbo on it and/or drove it while low on oil

@@rosstrittler rough, yeah headers are near useless on these maxed out engines, what you really want are high flow cats to free up the exhaust
@@_baller Maxed out engine? Curious
@@flipinfin yeah Revup is the maxed out DE, you're not gonna get much more power out of it without breaking it...just move on to the HR
@@_baller lmfao must never watched nitish21 he has a 800hp 04 g35 coupe bruh check out his build

That's weird. The non rev-up makes slightly less power but is more reliable from what I've heard
Yea I agree I’ve been trying to find out what engine I have and I finally see it’s a non rev in a 06 but hey I’ll take reliability over power
When the rebuild vid coming ?

Subbed for the VQ35DE content. Plus you are nearby.
Thanks man, I really appreciate it.
Great content only if I still had my g35. Should invest in a Milwaukee playa make mechanic work alot easier.
It's always the 5 th cylinder
Lucky number I guess
That’s a 2005 not 06
VIN says 06
Auto O5 didn't make rev up engines buddy
@@flipinfin 05 did come in rev up buddy
@@JoseTorres-lt1oo manuals not autos buddy
