      @@generationbehindhifi I got these set up yesterday. I’m coming from the old Pro Media 4.1 set that I got over 20 years ago, lol. That thing has a sub with two 6.5 in woofers inside! I can say the new Heritage set is more “audiophile.” It’s definitely a more balanced neutral sounding setup when you have the sub blended right. Unexpectedly, the 8 inch sub has less presence than the old dual 6.5s, but way less mudiness. If anything I’m very impressed with how good that old 4.1 set is. Overall though, I bet this new Heritage set would meet the needs of 99% of people that care about good sound.
      Edit: Definitely not saying the new 8 inch sub is lacking in bass or anything. Also, the old dual 6.5 sub is well broken in and has gone through some repair. Had the drivers refoamed something like 15 years ago. Whereas the new 8 definitely is not broken in which could account for some of the variation. Placement also is likely a factor, yada yada yada.

      @@RdandTrk1 Cool! Yeah, I was really impressed with them. especially when you can get a set of speakers and a pretty powerful 8" subwoofer for under $250. Did you have to replace your input cable or do you have them connected via blue tooth? Just curious if Klipsch finally fixed the issues with the cable or not.

      @@generationbehindhifi like you, I made my own cables out of some copper cable I had laying around. As for the RCA to TRS cable that was packed in, I may have lucked out. I tried it out expecting it to result in hum because it's pretty thin and cheap feeling, but didn't have any. So far so good. No feedback or humming.

      @RT - wow, you're kidding. Gee, none of(we) self proclaimed audiophiles would have never guessed the lack of accuracy in the transfer of audio gear. We're just too stupid to have known anything of that sort. The sound demos work, as they provide a 'rough' estimate of how it may sound, versus some jackhole saying "it's the best". Some of you guys are wound incredibly tight with audio chest thumping. I can't fathom being wound that tight, I go for fun and enjoyment, and sound demos provide a base line to explore further up to, and including listening to the genuine product before purchasing.

    • @generationbehindhifi
      @generationbehindhifi  Год назад +2

      I never heard of that brand before. I looked them up and they are double the cost of what I paid for my Klipsch ProMedia Heritage. For that kind of money ($500) I hope they are better! There is one review on Best Buy who said the below so I'm skeptical. If people do decide to buy them, make sure they purchase from a store with a great return policy. :)
      " I ordered this to replace my Klipsch Promedia 2.1 because they were a better fit for my desk setup, but the Klipsch (2 speakers and 1 subwoofer)that was 1/3 of the cost of this Edifier, and the sub was 1/2 the size delivered 10x the bass. The speakers were nicely built, delivered great audio, but the subwoofer was an extreme disappointment."

      Edifier is really bad brand.. I think they probably don't even employ sound engineers.. I have several friends who bought their speakers.. I would tell them not to, but they didn't ask.. however, not a single of them sounded good.. I would even say the sound was terribly bad.. but people buy it because they like the looks, or LED lights or I dont know what, an believe that the sound must be good due to higher price tag...

      @@danielukasik6902 I dont understand how you can lie so much, just go and check specs between these Klipsch speakers and Edifier S351DB ones and you will see the difference. Check the little details in build quality and compare it to plastic look of these Klipsch drivers and you will see another difference. I dont know how much do you even know about sound quality in general but these Klipsch are the ones that are overpriced here.

      That's what the gain control is for on the subwoofer. If you think it sounds like it has too much bass, simply turn the knob down. I would much rather have too much (more headroom) than not enough. You can always dial it down if need be.

And if you wanted a 1/3 bigger and 1/3 louder sub, you bought the Z-5500....those were the loudest and strongest PC speakers ever built. They beat the Corsair SP 2500 and Edifier S350DB easily.

      Ahh man, the Corsair SP 2500. That's a blast from the past. I bought that system to "upgrade" from my Klipsch Pro Media 4.1 THX system. I remember it being a very clean sounding system with higher quality bass that the Klipsch had. Honestly, I'd say the sub on the Corsair system sounded better than the sub included with this Klipsch Heritage system, though not by much. I never got to hear the Logitech systems you're referring to here. They must have been monster systems.

    • @lflyr6287
      @lflyr6287 24 дня назад

      @@RdandTrk1 In practice the Logitech Z-2300 were neck by neck with the Corsair SP-2500. I used to own both....the Corsair SP-2500 had slightly weaker sub unit in terms of being slightly less warm and deep but it had better MID-s and comparable HIGH-s. The Logitech Z-2300 had slightly weaker sattelites (hence weaker MID-s) but they could be replaced easily because the outputs were 8 OHms and you could plug in much more brigher bookshelf speakers onto the AMP unit and then they sounded almost perfect.

    • @RdandTrk1
      @RdandTrk1 24 дня назад

      @@lflyr6287 That's very interesting. Do you also own this Heritage system? I'd like to get your take on it versus those systems. To me, the Heritage is a level above the old Pro Media 4.1 and the SP-2500, but that doesn't mean that it's better in every way than the older stuff. They all have their strengths. For a bass head who wants super loud, the 4.1 Pro Media was hard to beat. The SP 2500 also played loud and had great high quality bass but maybe not a super wide soundstage. The Heritage set is like a legit high-fi system to me. It's not just good for computer speakers but rather just good. Very balanced, legit separation, wide for what it is soundstage, etc.
