Thank you guys for making this content. I've been watching your videos for years, you are true legends. I know how it is making these videos in the showrooms and all the hassle that comes along with traveling etc. Thanks a bunch and don't stop making valuable content!
Atoomos is really polarizing it's customer base by releasing a whole new generation of products with "new-ish" software. They just released upgrades to the Ninja V only a year or so ago with the Ninja V+. Users are going to be disappointed, as it's clear Atomos is doing the same polarizing behavior that Apple does... locking software features to specific hardware, when it's clear the software changes are just superficial. Customers are going to start looking more at SmallHD, who continues to add software to monitors 8-10 years after release. A monitor that's meant to last and be supported for 10 years vs. 3-5 years is worth paying more.
I have a Ninja V+ and shortly after purchasing it I spoke to Atomos support about having the EL Zones in a future update, just like the SmallHD already had at the time, the answer was that they were thinking about the matter, this was 2 years ago.. Now finally with AtomOS 11 it has been introduced. As a DP, EL Zones is probably the function I need most in a monitor and I hope the Ninja V+ has an update soon, I don't need AtomOS 11 for anything, just EL Zones as an essential tool for a DP on a field monitor or I switch to to SmallHD.
will this Shogun be able to do multicam as the previous Shogun 7 was able to do? The Ninja V can be attached to the atomx cast, but this one cant and it has atleast 1 sdi and 1 hdmi input and output so atleast for 2 cam setup thats totally doable imo with xml files like it was with the old shogun 7.
Please guide me, guys. I want to buy a 7-inch monitor and recorder and the options are Shogun Connect 7 or Shogun Ultra. Which one do you prefer? And also for future-proofing 8k recording capacity is also a must-option.
I had just bought the shogun connect, and the new one was announced the next day, which I'll be returning. I wish they would make a Ninja with sdi. A lot of us don't need nor ever work in 8k.
My question is now what happens to the Shogun Connect 7, that was fairly new cost me over $1000+ including tax, hope you will not go the route of Sony abandoning the not too old product. I remembered you interviewed him last year, after which i bought the Shogun Connect 7, what's the deference with the screen panel both do 8k /30FPs, so why can't my Shogun Connect 7 get the free H.265 codecs and OS 11 why? Why?

Can i use this as a small tv to game bro?
Well said. If only convergent design kept making monitors. The oddysey put atomos to shame.
Would’ve really loved to see some additional ProRes Raw resolution / frame rate support. 6K 60p … maybe even 8K 60p.
I think that Atomos Shogun Ultra 7-inch HDR Monitor Recor 8K RAW

CineD, what's the difference between the Ninja V + and the Ninja Ultra? Should I upgrade?
do i have to pay to use wifi on my atomos ninja ultra with the connect? It wont let me connect to wifi!
How's the screen color? Still have the warm look out of the box and need to calibrate?
This is my worry too. My Shinobi 7 monitor is horribly warm. Getting a separate device to calibrate is too costly

Very Nice!

Whatever happened to that? I don't even see it on their product page anymore. IDK what happened there.
Can i use this to record RUclips bro?
The Ninja V and Shogun are recorders, so yes, you can record almost any HDMI (or SDI) input.
There needs to be another company other than Atomos that can sell a monitor/recorder. This company has become greedy.
