Well, considering that Pokemon Snap kind of did the same thing two decades ago, and the fact that Spy x Family is one of the most popular anime/manga series in not just Japan, but worldwide, it was honestly a no-brainer that this game would be releasing in the West, given the popularity of both franchises. Personally, I was honestly expecting more of a game that was like The Lost Vikings franchise or this one game that I cannot think of right now that was a Metroidvania that allowed a person to switch between three people on the fly, but a nice and cutesy Pokemon Snap type game was not the game that I was honestly expecting from this franchise.
I guess animes and games did great over the years just because of this. Such as Kanon, The house of the Dead Scarlet Dawn, Buko no Hero, Guilty Gear, Citrus, Fighting EX Layer, Mou ippoun, King of Fighters, Two Cars, Dead or Alive and the rest. And by the way. Is it wrong liking animes and games together? I actually wanted to see a cross over when anime characters would interact with game characters.

I love that they have a world clas spy and a unstoppable assassin to make games about but they make a kids game about a little girl's diary. I say that without any irony, it's such a deviation and shows they didn't take the easy route of a generic anime hack and slash.

Was really surprised seeing that Spy x Family was getting a game whilst watching the direct and am really happy as well it isn't just one of those visual novel looking games with character sprites because a majority of anime in the past would have that fate whilst becoming a video game Woulda thought perhaps they'd make an action game that has you doing missions as Loid or Yor considering it'd seem appealing to anime fans especially but instead we have a more slice of life game in the eyes of Anya and man I'm all for it, really love chill games after all ahahah Just hope it doesn't get very repetitive like the Rilakkuma switch game as despite him being one of San-x's most popular mascot character, the game does feel rather empty of stuff to actually do with the small amount of minigames and whatnot
