    i can understand how this might be difficult to follow for beginners but come on there aren't many channels for intermediate players anyways... loved this. Saves me a lot of time

      I recommend that u watch Paul David’s music theory lessons. Their on RUclips and he teaches you how chords are made. I also recommend that u learn the first shape of the natural major scale by looking it up on google in addition to how Paul tells u to learn. That helped me a lot. Cheers

    Great tutorial. Having the chords displayed next to you while you play would be a bit of work, but extremely helpful for the less experienced. Loved the take you had for switching up for more jazzy tunes

    I learned everything you played here in one day & even replicated the same loop you did there. I can't believe I got it so quick tho. I looked at this a couple months ago and was like "Nah Ill just find the chords and play it my way". Im glad i came back and learned this note for note! Sounds f-n-amazing! Great lesson!

      RUclips does have a speed button, so you can slow it down and then pause on the chord you want, but looking them up might be faster.

      Yea! just look up the chords! For example, when the teacher was showing some of the chords he tell you what they are. go look up the G#7 sharp 5. Then you will know. Best of luck brother and be easy on yourself. You'll get it!

    Great lesson, it was refreshing to come across a lesson that wasnt restricted by a specific way of playing, and encouraged exploring feeling out chord choices for myself, which im new to and this lesson helped a lot. Thanks.

    Great lesson! I just subscribed!
    I heard this song on the radio on the way home today and went, "Hey! That solo would sound great on guitar!" Your lesson is the first I found and watched. I quickly picked out the song on the piano with your guidance, so now I can play around with it on the guitar. I liked that you laid out the chords and then presented some different fingerings for them. I'll go back through them slower later. Cheers!

      True. Write down the Chords. This is a pop-jazz song. For us in jazz we know them but make it visual for the unfamiliar

      Umm not really have you ever taken a theory class? Besides it's Stevie Wonder and you can't really teach this stuff without bringing in theory.

    Isn't the first chord in the verse C#m7? I heard you say Cm7. Probably unconsciously said it.

      it is c#m7 because if the song is in E major, its relative minor is C# :)

      You know, we allways try to play to much notes cause we've learned all these scales and stuff all over the neck. Playing close to the melody is a real hard work and sounds so "élégant"...sorry for my uggly english and thank You for the good feeling.

    Great Michael!! I listened a lot this tune by Jazz musicians in Jams. I remember your outstanding class with "Knowbody Knows" by Clapton and you do a Solo Breakdown. When i improvise with E Maj Scale or Pentatonic sounds good. Do I need to improvise this tune with chord tones? Thanks so much!!

      Well, you don't NEED to, but if you WANT to sound out the chords your playing over, that's how you do it. As always, this is personal taste and you should do whatever YOU think sounds the best for that tune :)

    This was a great lesson. It's not a beginners' lessons, but I don't think this song is a beginners' song either. You can easily work out the chords he's calling out if you know a bit of theory, copy his hand shapes, and most importantly, use you damn ears! :D

    Hey Michael great lesson. I want to address one item just for my (fairly new at guitar) knowledge. Re the C minor 7, isn't that the 3rd fret? Is the 4th fret actually a D minor 7? Thanks.

      So that - believe it or not - is plugged in direct. It's garageband! I think it's set to a fender blackface with some delay / verb but that's it!

      That's what I'm playing! Well, it's C#mi9, but it's the same thing. You can use any extensions you want... dealers choice!

      I know but you keep calling it C min 7 or C min 9 in the video. That's gonna screw up some people who don't know the key signature of E major. Still a great analysis. Thanks

    I thinks it starts off with a C# minor 7th - Look at your finger on the 4th fret of the A string - that makes C# in my book. - Or am I loosing it ?? lol - You are an awesome player though. Peter.

    I wish you give us the proper or common chord that u really use. not every guitarist knows/master the fretboard. i bet, a half who watches this video are beginners because this is such a great song to learn.

    I would say this is a good lesson but he said C minor when it’s actually a C# minor chord that the song uses
