The entire country is not that way. By the way the majority of us don't even have Telemundo because we don't have any interest in watching it. This is the first watchable World Cup segment I've seen this summer because CC and Nick are not pretending they are football experts, they are genuinely asking questions and getting competent answers from this gentleman. I've seen so many segments about the WC and the pundits (as we call them in the UK) can get away with doing little to know research because the general public just expect what they're saying is true, when in reality some of it is absolute nonsence! ESPN are appalling for this.
    Germany, Spain, Brazil are the best teams by far. Belgium and France are definitely worth a bet, their odds are very favourable considering their talent. Messi however is a total game changer in the truest sense of the word, if Argentina wins this summer he becomes the undisputed greatest of all time. Anything can happen in knock out football. Ronaldo is a phenomenon and one of the greats but cannot change a game by himself anymore so his teammates need to perform as well, Portugal have no chance. Their EURO 2016 win was very lucky.
    Suarez & Godin of Uruguay, Modric & Rakitic of Croatia, Salah of Egypt and Lewandowski of Poland are the best players outside of those nations so watch out for them. If you're looking for a team to support, I fell in love with Colombia four years ago and their best players have matured since they got to the quarter final that tournament. They have a real togetherness, dance a lot and their best player is a man named James Rodriguez, who may have been the best player in the best team in the Bundesliga this season, champions, Bayern Munich.
    Few short things: Nigeria have the nicest kits. Ignore his Morocco statement, that is absurd. Don't watch the opening game on the 14th June if it is your first introduction to 'soccer,' wait till the 15th for Spain v Portugal.
    My heart says Argentina will win it all. Vamos!

    • @hansblodorn9456
      @hansblodorn9456 6 лет назад +6

      Messi may be the best player of the Champions League Era. But what makes a GOAT in Soccer?
      Individual skill, measurable success in both club and national team and the capacity of both carrying a team and making your teammates better, i.e. being what CC might call a force multiplier.Messi fails to check both points 2 for national team and 3 for force multiplying. If there is some candidates for GOAT it should be Pele , Maradona, Franz Beckenbauer and Zinedine Zidane. Among those without World Champions accolades Ferenc Puskas of Hungary and Real Madrid (1950s) should be considered IMHO.

    • @Jed10dah
      @Jed10dah 6 лет назад +20

      Daniel Price no he’s not , Messi’s impact has been much better, cristiano did his best in 2017, while in 2016 and 2014 he had little impact in the finals and semi finals. Actually he was bad in the those finals.
      On the other hand, in general Messi as an individual player has more impact on the team even when he does not score. So don’t confuse team success with the individual success, recent example Bayern Vs RM Cristiano literally did nothing and they still managed to qualify, imagine the same thing with Messi and Barcelona ! No way they would beat Bayern without Messi producing a magical performance. Messi as an individual has been better than CR7 in the last two years by a margin. The problem is most people don’t look into details they just care about the results.

      I'm placing combined or multiple bets with the six teams you mentioned as possible winners. I'd love to see Spain win it again (been living in Spain since I was nine) and I think France have a very solid team. As others have commented, Argentina's defence may be their downfall. Brazil and Germany are always among the favourites and Belgium could win it for the first time, just like Spain did in 2010. Outside those six, I would pick Uruguay, Colombia and Portugal as wild bets.

    It's only Americans that think Messi isn't as good as Maradona because he's not won a world cup. It's an idiotic argument.
    There are 22 players in a football game. Messi is one man. If his team does not win a world cup it is not because of him. He was incredible at the last world cup and has been continually great for the last decade. Sorry but you never hear educated, European football fans saying he needs to win a world cup.

    Mexico the most underperforming nation ever? Are you having a laugh.. clearly it's either England or Netherlands. Both teams have had WORLD CLASS players for decades and yet still can't win anything. At one point England had a World Cup squad of Rooney, Owen, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, J.Cole, G. Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, Robinson.. If you can't win a World Cup with that team then you've MASSIVELY underperformed, not to mention how strong the bench was as well.

    • @f.c.m.3865

      You have no idea what Maradona represents to Argentinians then. Maradona is worshipped in Argentina and in South Italy, he represents so much, to win a wc, is something that adds so much. And let's be real, messi is not the same, when he plays without iniesta and xavi.
      In my opinion, a player that only performed for 1 team with the best players in the world can't be called above maradona.
      People in Argentina sometimes seems that they have no empathy or connection with messI. Might be from the fact that he is more a European than an South American.

      Sam Olbur to say it ain't close or maradona is in messi's shadow is just a plain lie, mate. Maradona won everything in his career, including titles with teams not even close to what messI have with Barcelona and Argentina national. You can have the opinion that messi is better, I'll disagree and accept that, but to say it ain't even close is at least hyperbolic.

    • @jerrylam7740
      @jerrylam7740 6 лет назад +1

      Well, maybe Maradona is popular in Argentina. Messi is popular worldwide. Maybe Maradona is like hero in Argentina. Messi is hero worldwide in my opinion. Probably the people who are from argentina think messi is in maradona shadow, I think football is in Messi's shadow. Titles? You really want to count? Maradona never won a CL so please don't go there. By the end of Messi career, each of his three child can have two ballon d'or and a pair of golden shoes. So please stop.
      Also, off the pitch, Messi is a much better role model than Maradona. Maybe people need to wake up a bit.
