    I just rebuilt my 2007 Chevrolet 4L60E following Jimmy's tutorials and it works again! Fantastic video series and presentation. Never thought I'd attempt this procedure but he made it easy as well as ordering the parts I needed. Highly recommended, thanks Jimmy!

    This is an awesome video for anyone who is "DIY" individuals. I overhauled mine about 5 years ago and I followed everything exactly as he said. I was even fortunate enough to been able to speak to him personally with any questions I had. The transmission worked perfectly till a few months later due to some defective parts in the transmission pump which I replaced, so be careful with your replacement kits. I also changed the torque converter the second time. My transmission worked flawlessly after that and once again it had went to due to defective parts. I took it to a dealer for that. Just didn't have the time again to due it myself and found that the parking sprig and a few other defective parts.

    Strewth I'm glad I watched this before I started - I would've just yanked the NSS right off the shaft and probably destroyed the mating surface. These videos are worthy of a tech college, bravo to all involved.

    At 4:32 it’s recommended to not remove the connector from the neutral safety switch yet the 13mm bolt behind it would be inaccessible; right?

    Great video, I watched after I pulled the wires out of the neutral safety switch. I had watched many videos on removing the plug with a heat gun. I was going to do that when I got the motor and transmission 3/4s out but I pulled the wires out. It is dam near impossible to remove the 13mm bolt behind the neutral safety switch plug so I opted to try with a heat gun but now I will have to fix the plug instead no big deal

    I sure wish I had seen that part about leaving the neutral safety switch attached to the harness under the car. I destroyed the connectors, and now I need to replace the switch.

    I don't have a neutral safety switch. Just a lever and a bolt holding it. (1997 4L60E fbody, single piece housing.) Do I remove the bolt???

    My 98 Blazer is a nightmare to pull the trans. Its almost impossible to get around all the bell housing bolts because of the lack of space in the bodys trans tunnel. I had to pull the entire motor and trans together

    Why does this 1994 4L60E have 2-piece construction ?? The 2-piece was started in 1996 per your other ID video. Maybe this is just an example tag on an early 4l60e.??

      I believe the 200-4R got the BOP treatment also, while the 4L60 didn't.

    Morning. I fouled up, thought I was using a torx plus bit and I wasn't. Stripped 2 bolts. What can I do?

    • @erx88
      @erx88 6 лет назад

      I had the same issue, thankfully it was only one bolt and not the deepest one, i welded a allen bar about the diameter of the torx head onto the surface of the strip bolt, it was longer than the bell housing, used a pair of vise grips and large 4 foot conduit attached to the handle, came off. hope that helps anyone, my only other alternative would have been to sacrifice the bell housing, cut it and then grab the bolts and vise grip them off, the foot pounds is ridiculous on them. Good luck everyone.

    • @erx88
      @erx88 6 лет назад +2

      Also remember that when you drop the trans, its weight turns the engine in a downward angle allowing for access to the bell housing bolts, wedge an exact fit, piece 2x4 under the drive pully and bottom support to maintain that angle when putting the trans back in or it going to be a big issue.

      also order a new parking pawl, they break at the end, that's why mine didn't come of park, its only a few dollars but you'll thank me, i am going tack weld the new one to insure it doesn't happen again.
