The brilliance of this movie is that _every single event is foreshadowed..._ but it definitely takes more than one viewing to catch everything, all the foreshadowing and the call-backs - _so many_ callbacks - it's masterfully done
I only just realised that following the comment that a swan can break a man's arm, Frank has one after being stopped by the swan in the back of the car
@@joelwatkins Yes, and little easy-to-miss gags like George Merchant being referred to as "the fridge magnate".
World's End is even better than both. Imagine that!
Check out the scene here in this video at 4:50. You can see a sword hanging over the mantle piece. Which the old guy wields later... Amazing.
You couldn't be more correct! I think that World's End uses the same idea but as references for new jokes? Hot Fuzz just goes straight for the "obvious" callback every time.
(For reference: I much prefer Hot Fuzz, but I AM biased 😅)
The reason Juliet was wearing wings is because in the 1996 movie Romeo + Juliet, starring Leo DICaprio and Claire Danes, she wore them for a costume party. The theater group apparently were basing their production off that. Thats where the song at the end came from too. The movie was set in modern day but all the dialogue was the same as the original Shakespeare.
When they find Martin and Eve's bodies, and Skinner drives by, the song Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits is playing on the radio.
"take out all the little people and you get to walk off with the cuddly monkey" - excellent foreshadowing.
I've seen this movie many times and thought I'd found every foreshadowing and callback, but I'd missed that one! Thanks :)
"you can't just make people disappear"
"yes I can, I'm the Chief Constable"
@@chrism7395No he says 'yrrr yes I can I'm the chief inspector'
the whole movie is foreshadowing.
"You wanna be a big cop in a little town fuck of up the model village" 💀
There is the big sad one, but it's also done very well. When Danny says his mom died in a "traffic collision" after learning to not call them accidents in case they weren't actually accidental...
It's called the Cornetto Trilogy because there's a Cornetto or mention of Cornetto ice cream in each movie. Other than that, there are no narrative similarities. It's so stupid but kind of hilarious in its own right.
🎉❤
there is also a similar theme the jumping over the fence LOL
@nervenllarena4948 oh god I forgot about that
Well, there's also leading actors.
I see. So there is not just One Cornetto?
Kate Blanchett (the girlfriend), Peter Jackson (Father Christmas who stabs Nicholas in the hand) and Martin Freedman all in the opening scenes are great cameos
Steve coogan and Bill Nighy?
@@BingoLittle they are great too but they are not in Lord of the Rings like the three I mentioned, the whole cast in Hot Fuzz is amazing but I like how they got so many who are in lord of the Rings especially
The fact that Bill Nighy is not in LoTR is baffling to me :) instinctively i always think he is
@@feldegast oh right.. missed that.. my bad..
@@parsa1372 He played Sam Gamgee in the BBC Radio 4 radio play in the early 80's. It's still available on CD and on line.
Olivia Coleman one of the finest actors of her generation playing the token female officer and spending the whole film making smutty jokes in the background is just brilliant. You know she had a blast doing this. Any Americans watching this should try playing spot the actor. It's a who's who of British legends half the cast were in either GOT or the harry potter franchise and the head of the NWA was the original equaliser.
The priest was Belloq in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
A fair few of them have appeared in Doctor Who over the years as well, and at least 3 of them have popped up in the MCU
@@2rare2die100Off the top of my head, Simon, Nick, Olivia, Bill Bailey, Dalton, the gardening woman all appeared in Doctor Who, with David Bradley and Jim Broadbent both playing the Doctor himself in one capacity or another. :)
I find it hilarious every time I re-watch HF or Peep Show and think - yep, she's an Oscar winner! =D
Also cate Blanchett as Nick's gf
“I’m not Janine” is my favourite joke in the film. Closely followed by “he is NOT Judge Judy and executioner!”
The "I'm not Janine" is SO silly and I just love it. xD
My favourite line is "You're a doctor, deal with it! Yeah, MFer!"
Billie Whitelaw (Joyce “Hag” Cooper) was Mrs. Baylock in the original Omen. She auditioned for Hot Fuzz because her son loved Shaun of the Dead, which used his apartment as a location during filming.
The building blowing up with no one really getting hurt feels like a Blues Brothers reference, Timothy Dalton's character posing in front of an identical picture feels like an Airplane reference, and Sgt. Angel taking the guy out with a perfectly thrown can feels like a Crocodile Dundee reference.
There are so many references to other actions movies but very subtile like in the NWA cult meeting at the castle, where the twins name where Roger and Martin is a reference to Lethal Weapon's Martin Riggs and Roger Mutaugh.
They most certainly are. But I missed the Lethal Weapons one! Thanks. :D
Some of the actors not mentioned by others
Billie Whitelaw-the hotel owner - the nanny in The Omen
Edward Woodward- the police liaison- in the original Wicker Man - the good version and also the TV series The Equilizer and Callan
The Reverend Paul Freeman was the baddie Belocq in Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Doctor Stuart Wilson was the baddie in The Mask of Zorro
The detective Constable Rafe Spall is the son of Tim Spall -Peter Pettigrew -Harry Potter and Rafe Spall was the obnoxious teenage coworker in Shaun of the Dead
The Detective Sergeant is Paddy Constantine-Vyseris from House of the Dragon and also he was great in Dead Man's Shoes
Skinner- Timothy Dalton-James Bond
Santa -Peter Jackson
Desk Sergeant-Bill Bailey-comedian
Olivia Coleman
Cate Blanchett
😊😊😊😊
The spire falling of the church is also an homage to when Patrick Troughton is killed in The Omen.
@@davidanderson1639 indeed 😊😊😊
@@williamburnham3659 one cameo you missed off your list was Kenneth Cranham, who plays the farmer who is punched. Cranham is best know by horror fans for his portrayal of Dr Channard in Hellraiser II: Hellbound.
@davidanderson1639 he also played Harvey Moon in the 1980's Shine on Harvey Moon, an enjoyable period comedy of a spiv character. Elizabeth Spriggs, the first Fat Lady in the Harry Potter films played his mum 🙂🙂🙂
I don't know if you noticed or not but the guy who plays Michael in Hot Fuzz is also the Hound in Game of Thrones
I was really hoping they would say something, especially with their reaction to frey
Also the guy who played the doctor is Travis from Lethal Weapon 3
It has never failed to blow my mind when people do not realize it! First thing I did was point at the screen and yell "YAAARP!!!!" when he came out the first time in GoT!!!
To me he'll always be the porridge oats guy.
@@shawnadams1460 My husband and I yelled "NAAARP!"...xD
Cate Blanchett is so great in this. Such a tiny part and all the acting is in the eyes. She's incredible ❤
I've seen this movie so many times and never knew that was her!
And director Peter Jackson plays the Father Christmas that stabs him in the hand.
@@siangoodwin867 I did not know that. Thank you!

Part of the joke about the farmer having all those weapons is that after WWII especially in central and eastern Europe, there are tons of remnants of WWII all over farms especially near creeks that nobody goes to. There are RUclips channels of excavators right now getting permission to search farmers land and finding all kinds of guns, unexploded artillery, equipment, and human remains with insignia from shelling. In England specifically old sea mines would occasionally wash up but most common were unexploded V2 rockets. A London subway terminal had to be shut down during renovations because they found an unexploded V2 or v1 buzz bomb from many years ago that nobody knew about
"nuffin like a bit of girl on girl" Ladies and gentlemen, Oscar winner Olivia Coleman

In the german version it‘s: „I can get girls laid too“ 😂
One of the best comedy’s around🤣 when the old lady get smoked and he shouts ‘Hag’ is the best scene ever 😂
You obviously noticed David Bradley, aka Walder Frey from GOT, playing the nearly incomprehensible farmer, but you didn't notice that Rory McCann, aka The Hound, played Michael, aka Lurch!
While not part of the Cornetto Trilogy, the movie Paul, is another fun flick starring Nick and Simon, that's worth a watch!
Love Paul
The Cornetto Trilogy are literally like a lesson in British comedy directing, editing, writing and acting. So much to laugh at but so much to admire in filmmaking skills too. Proof that great films don't need ridiculous amounts of CGI to be complete eye candy.
If you're English, this film is even funnier. Since each accent is authentic to the English countryside. For Americans, most are use to hearing the typical posh accent, such as Tony Blair or other's that are more easy for Americans to understand. If you ever go out into the rural areas of the UK, most of the people will be hard for you to understand, since even other Brits can barely understand the typical "country" accent.
BRUH😂 THEY ARE NOT AUTHENTIC ACCENTS AT ALL!!!

They've got some great moments but my favourite part is when they're leaving the shot and then one of them pops back in for absolutely no reason.
@@allbies saaaaaame🤣🤣
@allbies I do that to my kids from time to time. One day they'll be old enough to watch the film, get to that scene and will point a finger at the screen.
And the fact that one of them plays Viserys Targaryen in House of Dragon amazed me!
I met Paddy Considine in a pub in Burton and complimented his De Niro I think he was quite touxhed I spotted it.
Long time watcher, first time commenter. This is one of my favorite movies! And your reaction to it was amazing! I was happy you recognized David Bradley from Game of Thrones. He's great as Waldur Frey. However, I was hoping you would have realized that Lurch was the same actor who plays The Hound on Game of Thrones. I remember it blowing my mind when I realized that a while ago. Another wonderful reaction.
My ranking for this trilogy is Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and then World's End. But I'd still love to see you two react to the last one!
i didnt know that but now i cant unsee it
Paddy Considine, one of the detectives (Andy) plays king Viserys in House of the dragon as well.
@@_fruitnveg he's a great actor and very versatile. Can go from Dead Man's Shoes to this to House of the Dragon. Very talented. So many cameos from other great actors in this too. Can't take your eyes off it!
It's called the Cornetto trilogy because each movie has reoccurring words/parts and also Cornetto icecreams lol.
The play was a remake of the Romeo and Juliet movie (Leonardo dicaprio) more than the play (book) hence wearing the wings and singing the main song from the soundtrack.
It's a village, not a town, with a pub, not a bar. (just some English differences)
Great reaction guys! ❤
We have villages in the U.S. too, and I believe there are towns in England. I think this is a size thing (ready to be corrected--will probably google later). Even when you fill out your taxes in the U.S., you have to select City of, Town of, or Village of.
@HuntingViolets yes we have both. That was a village though, not a town so I was just explaining. We also have hamlets in the UK. A village is easy to spot because they are small, usually historic buildings and because it has a church and somewhere to meet so usually a hall of sorts. A town can have a whole range of places to worship or meet.
@@wayasaunooke3424Though “Sandford” was actually Wells, which is the smallest city in England and director Edgar Wright’s home town - when he was a teenager he had a job in the supermarket !
This script is brilliant. The editing is S-tier too. I laugh so hard all the way through this one whenever I watch it that my mouth and chest end up sore. 😆
41:27 - that closeup of the swan in the backseat is taken from Aliens when the xenomorph was behind the pilot on that spacecraft. Lots of easter eggs in this movie
The lady wearing wings and them doing a rendition of "Love Fool" by the Cardigans in the play is a reference to Baz Luhrman's 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet (starring Leo DiCaprio and Claire Danes). Also, did you notice that Lurch/Michael is the Hound from GOT???
I have to say I still like Shaun of the Dead the best out of the trilogy but that's only because I've seen SOTD 8 million times and I've just recently watched Hot Fuzz lol. Also, Point Break and Lethal Weapon.....??? We're gonna need you to add those to your list. Maybe go on a action tear after you're finished with comedy??? Great reaction ❤
The sheer number of legit actors, comedy actors, comedians and comedy writers in this movie, is unparalleled
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were good sports when I was at a convention. They were promoting Hot Fuzz and I can't remember if they did a talk on it, but it was pre-release. Anyway afterwards they did a signing and said they couild only stay 2 hours to sign. After 2 hours there was still a queue so they stayed until the Q emptied.
I never realized that basically half of this movie's cast ended up being in Game of Thrones / House of the Dragon LOL
Lurch is The Hound (Rory McCann)
Arthur Webley is Walder Frey (David Bradley)
Detective mustache is King Viserys (Paddy Considine)
and probably others :D
The Romeo and Juliet scene, basically everything about it, is taken from the Romeo + Juliet 1996 movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, which took the play and put it into modern times with guns in California. The costumes as pretty spot on from the movie, and the song that they sang at the end of the play was in the film (maybe the end credits? I forget). The joke is that instead of performing Shakespeare at the theater in town, they performed the movie instead.
I lowkey love Timothy Dalton! He's been brilliant in everything he's ever been in. He even made a great James Bond (seeing as how he's the only real actor among the bunch). He was deliciously villainous in this.
Was dying to see when either of you realized the Michael (the yarp guy) is The Hound from Game of Thrones. 😂 Was so sad when neither of you noticed. 😥
he isn't the only cast member that ended up in GoT either :D there's also Walder Frey and King Viserys in here lol
@@HumanCapybara yeah man loved their reactions to seeing Frey 😂
Apparently that model of shotgun is renowned for discharging if knocked about (Mossberg 500 apparently)
I loved this! Hot Fuzz is one of my favorite movies, and seeing you guys enjoy it so much was a joy. And you said you haven't seen Lethal Weapon, which is a really good movie too and I'd be interested to see you guys react to it. Cheers!
Cate Blanchette as Janine, in a way you can't recognize.
The CIA guy from Black Panther as the first guy to tell him hes going to Sandford.
A former bond Timothy Dalton as the supermarket.
Angus Filtch (from Harry Potter)
So many went from just British recognizable to international later,
Yarp - the hound, Olivia Coleman, Steve Merchant, Simon Pegg himself.
So many stars in quite minor roles its brilliant.
Did you describe Martin Freeman as the CIA guy from Black Panther 😆
What a film!!! So well directed and edited. Edgar Wright is a legend.
You two laughing honestly makes me laugh more too 🤣🤣❤
I was so excited when i saw that you'd done a react to this, and i was not dissapointed, amazing reaction, and by coincidence i'm visiting Wells (the town it was filmed in) tomorrow with my daughter, can't wait
For some reason, in my mind I thought this was like the Police Academy movies and never even considered watching it, but whoa, it looks so good! I recognized so many classic British actors from films and PBS, including Walder Frey and John Watson. Now I’m going to have to track it down and watch the whole thing. Love your reactions, always. Peace …
I believe this movie has the most setups and paybacks I've seen in a movie, just dozens of them
I recently said that "Hot Fuzz" was IMO the most enjoyable comedy of the whole decade. Then someone told me what year it was from. Making me feel very old immediately. And sorry for the state of comedy cinema.
My personal trivia tidbit on this - Frank's helmet marked VR , for Queen Victoria (at the time it should have been ER for Queen Elizabeth and would now be CR for King Charles). It's a sign he's still very much living in the past.
You guys should definitely finish off the Cornetto Trilogy with The World’s End! It is personally my favourite out of the three since it still manages to be really fun and funny while diving into deep themes and the genre switch makes it feel so fresh! Hot Fuzz was amazing as well but I can’t get over how awesome The World’s End is!
"IT'S ALL I'VE GOT" still breaks me to this day.

Hot Fuzz is probably my favourite. You should definitely react to The World's End. Btw - as well as Cate Blanchette playing Janine, Peter Jackson was Father Christmas. Also, the guy in the shop near the end was the director, Edgar Wright - a very talented man.
It's not part of the Cornetto trilogy, but you should really watch "Paul" with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Seth Rogan. A hilarious movie!
It IS the 2nd film of the Cornetto Trilogy.

Such a fun and wild movie. You guys should consider "Attack the Block". It's Sean of the Dead but with Aliens in South London projects. 10/10.
Superb film and a bit of Nick Frost and a young John Boyega
Timothy Dalton was brilliant in this, such a change from his normal roles. Same for Olivia Coleman. Great casting and acting!
I think Shaun of the Dead is the best at the genre it's tackling. Hot Fuzz is the fan favorite, and for very good reason; it's a riot! The World's End is the most mature of the three, and the one least connected to the other two, but it's also my favorite.
I think of the three flavours Cornetto like the Klondike ice cream bars with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry all in one, which I don't believe they've made for some years, so I've just confused the matter further.
My favourite is Hot Fuzz, and I think the first two really were better than the third in creative gut-busting comedy terms ... But, I do love The World's End, as well, and I think it had a genuine pathos with Pegg's ultimately-broken goth character that wasn't matched in the other films. A great final addition that helped display the full spectrum of Pegg & Wright's comedic writing talent. Would highly recommend all three to anybody.
@@mchmch6185 - Straight up, as much as it's my favorite, I also think The World's End is the weakest if we're placing it with the trilogy. Part of why it's my favorite is because of my own drinking issues, but as a film-lover regardless, I hold it the weakest of the three films. It is utterly unfair to compare them on their own merits.
Love that you guys embrace the Britishness of this movie. I both grew up and live close to where this movie was set and it's so cool that they put it on the map!
"I've never seen Lethal Weapon." Cody, my man, you can't just casually drop bombs like that lol

The "Sweat Suit" You mention is the stab vest... There's a LOT of knife crime in England so cops wear light body armour that stops knives.
The posh bloke in the fancy car is David Threlfall, he plays the original Frank Gallagher in the TV program Shameless.
Rory McCann played the Hound in 'Game of thrones' and Lurch in 'Hot Fuzz'. Also I loved Olivia Colman's double entendres are great.
My favourite bit of trivia about this film is that Simon, Edgar and Joe had written in a love interest for Sgt Angel and she was going to be the housekeeper at the inn but they then realised that Danny was a better love interest than they could ever get out of anyone else. So it's actually a very sweet love story between two officers becoming best friends.

I own the series (along with PAUL). This is my favorite of the 3. So well written, produced and edited. And go look at the IMDB cast list on this movie because of it almost being as stacked as an old episode of The Love Boat. My favorite being Billie Whiteclaw who was the inn keeper (HAG!). She most famously played Mrs. Blaylock, the deranged nanny in the original The Omen.
The cameos were great, only Oscar winner Olivia Coleman "loving a bit of girl on girl" 😂

The first time I saw this film was at a special screening with fellow Shaun of the Dead and Spaced fans. We all got a signed poster of the film and a copy of Shaun of the Dead. Such an amazing experience to watch something where we all shared the same humour. Plus my name is Janine😊
Your'e so lucky!
You do know that window was broken from the inside don't you Janine?
That was brilliant. I have never sat through a 45 minute video and it went by in a Heartbeat. The editing was absolutely superb.
Definitely SUBSCRIBED
Thanks for the laugh😊
Outside of the Trilogy there is another movie with this pair and its called "Paul" who is a little grey alien! It is as funny as all the others!
I keep forgetting Wicker Man star Edward Woodward was in this. He was the guy at the CCTVs who shoots Danny at the end. Makes it particularly funny that he accuses Nick of being a bloody busybody.
With these two actors being in comedies, you should watch Paul. They’re on their way to comic-con and they run into an alien voiced by Seth Rogen, it’s a hilarious movie
Hot Fuzz is my favorite. It's basically Chekov's Wet Dream, with SO much getting called back throughout the movie. Like, there's not a single joke set up in the first half of the movie that doesn't get called back. Still, I would recommend that you watch the third movie again. That's one that I've got some very... intense personal connections with, but... if you get to it, I'll get into it a bit on that one.
There are no loose ends in this movie and that is amazing for a fast paced action comedy. An underappreciate foreshadowing is that farmers and their mums have guns...they are the first people Angel fights when arriving back at the village.
The biggest joke is that most people in the UK have lived their whole life and never seen a firearm, so seeing so many in one English vilage is a shock to our roots, but so so funny.
Timothy Dalton said he had more fun making this movie than the James Bond flicks.
One of my favourite movies of all time, it'll never get old
The Worlds End is the name of a pub in Camden, London - used as the name for the final pub on the crawl in Newton Haven and the name of the film.
All three films have their own strengths and weaknesses. Hot Fuzz is arguably the most pooular.
Shaun needs to grow up, Nicolas needs to find a work life balance and Gary needs to find something to live for; giving the last film more emotional weight.
All good in their own way 👍
The ice creams they eat in car when they have the brainfreeze/wave conversations are Cornettos
So many famous actors in it- Edward Woodward was in the Wicker Man, Timothy Dalton was James Bond, Olivia Coleman got an Oscar for the Favourite, Lurch was the Hound in GoT, Billie Whitelaw work with Samuel Becket and was in he Omen, Paul Freeman in an Indiana Jones Film Rafe Spall and Paddy Considine are pretty famous and Jim Broadbent has an Oscar. Most of the supporting cast are pretty famous.
Then there are the cameos! Peter Jackson, Cate Blanchett, Bill Nighy, Martin Freeman, Steve Coogan and Edgar Wright is in there!
One of my favourite parts of this film is that during the shootout no one actually dies, Angel got em all booked in the end.
Great reaction, really glad I came across this one as I'm quite new to the channel! Gonna have a look at some of the other older videos.

Damn, I forgot we have Peg, Freeman and Coogan in the same scene. That's so good.
I love how the twist wasn't that it wasn't Skinner, but that it was him and a whole bunch of other people.
The old man monitoring the CCTV ( Edward woodward ) was the original Equalizer in the 80s and was the star of the original Wicker man, the movie about a young police man that goes to a village that is full of strange people .also last line that he says in this movie are the same he says at the end of the Wicker man.
The way it was used in the play was unconventional, but “Love Fool” was originally in Baz Luhrman’s Romeo and Juliet.
Loved this film. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a great comedic duo like in Shaun of the Dead which these two on my list of favorite comedies.
They’re called the coretto trillogy because in every film they eat a cornetto ( a certain ice cream brand )
Simon Pegg is just brilliant. I love all his acting, Star Trek, Paul, oh everything. Great movie. Love the music as Angel enters the pub for the first time. It's XTC's Sgt Rock (Is Going to Help Me). And, boy, does he help this village.
What an amazing movie. Every joke lands and the callbacks are incredible (not to mention appearances from Walder Frey and The Hound.)

Just a brilliant film from start to finish with a superb cast. Painfully funny scenes the showdown in the town when Angel returns is hilarious, a send up of Point Break and Bad Boys, and about every action film ever made. Just brilliant! This was the best of the Cornetto Trilogy. Best bit is where Angel drop kicks the granny in the face, hilariious.
Yesss one of my favourite movies! I havnt seen the full video yet but please tell me they realise Lurch is The Hound?

Hot Fuzz is one of my all-time favorites. In 2007, I worked in England for about 6 months and almost no one had heard of it, including a PC (Police Constable) who I dated and most of her fellow officers! It just wasn't marketed over there. I ended up buying 6 or 7 copies for her and her co-workers. I thought that was unacceptable that an English police officer NOT own a copy!
Weird how it wasn't marketed, yet our firm arranged a works outing to watch it at the cinema
The looks on your face when you heard "Same Person". lol "Shut the Door" OMG LMAO
The supermarket owner (Simon Skinner) was James Bond in a past life (The Living Daylights). This is such a great film, no matter how many times I watch it.
I've seen a few reactions to Hot Fuzz & find it funny that they don't recognise the guy playing Lurch (Rory McCann) is The Hound
To be fair, Lurch, The Hound and Rory McCann all bear little resemblance to each other
I live just down the road from Wells (Sandford)), still looks the same, pub does a nice Sunday roast albeit hugely overpriced 🤣❤ Fun fact - Janine is played by Cate Blanchett!!!!
Seen reactions to this often, think you’re the first to pick up on NWA, lots of famous faces and cameos .. paddy considine ( House of Dragons ) Cate Blanchett ( Lord of the Rings ) Olivia Coleman ( The queen in the Crown ) Rory McCann ( Hound in GOT ) Jim Broadbent ( Archmaester in GOT ) David Bradley ( Walder Frey in GOT ) Timothy Dalton ( James Bond ) Steve Merchant ( Ricky Gervais sidekick ) Martin Freeman ( The Hobbit ) David Threlfall ( UK Shameless ) and sure I’ve missed a few 😂
One of the funniest action comedy movies ever made!
The name of the town "Sandford" is the name always used in any police training scenario. They actually spent months shadowing, interviewing and down the pub with police officers from Thames Valley Police. Many of the story lines were based on actual events. The swan for instance, was a swan than led them a merry dance through Oxford. In the uk police, no day is complete without some refernce/line from Hot Fuzz.
Yarp! That actor also plays The Hound in Game of Thrones btw
My favorite part will always be when the old lady gets dropped kicked lmao
It's a farmer's mother of course, hence the shotgun. The two feet to the face is masterful.
The dog in the film (Saxon, real name Sampson) was actually put up for training as a police dog, but was found to be unsuitable (basically too dozy) and instead became a family pet then an actor.
I love how they had a proper reason set out for the killings it was so detailed, but they just said it was cause they were annoying 😂
The initials NWA were on purpose. You got it! @15:41 The Shakespeare performance is based on Romeo + Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann from 1996.

References to Shaun of the Dead are also present in the film.
In one scene, Nicholas wants to chase a shoplifter by jumping over several garden fences; however, Danny is reluctant.
Nicholas says, "What's the matter, Danny? You never taken a shortcut before?"
He smiles assuredly before jumping over four in a row (according to the DVD commentary, Pegg vaulted over three fences, and a stunt man did a back flip over the fourth).
When Danny attempts it, he trips and falls through the fence.
This is almost identical to a scene in Shaun of the Dead, including the fall-through-fence gag, albeit with the pratfalling role reverse: in Shaun of the Dead it happens to Pegg's character rather than Frost's, and he falls over the fence rather than through it.
The DVD commentary says that Frost purposely looked back at the camera after crashing through the fence, to show that he had done the stunt rather than someone else.
Frost's characters (Danny in Hot Fuzz, Ed in Shaun of the Dead) have a liking for Cornetto ice cream.
Pegg and Wright have referred to Hot Fuzz as being the second film in the "Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy", with Shaun of the Dead being the first and The World's End being the third.
Other films
Various scenes in Hot Fuzz feature a variety of action film DVDs such as Police Story 3: Super Cop and scenes from Point Break and Bad Boys II.
Wright revealed that he had to get permission from every actor in each video clip, including stunt men, to use the clips and for the use of the DVD covers had to pay for the rights from the respective studios.
The film parodies clichés used in other action movies.
On the topic of perceived gun fetishes in these movies, Pegg has said, "Men can't do that thing, which is the greatest achievement of humankind, which is to make another human, so we make metal versions of our own penises and fire more bits of metal out of the end into people's heads... It's our turn to grab the gun by the hilt and fire it into your face."
Despite this, Pegg maintains that the film is not a spoof, in that "They lack the sneer that a lot of parodies have that look down on their source material.
Because we're looking up to it."
The film also includes various references to The Wicker Man, in which Edward Woodward had played a policeman tough on law and order.

Fun fact. Legal drinking age in England is 5 in a private residence, however you can drink in a pub from the age of 16 under certain rules. The kids weren't following the rules though
16 with a parent and if bought with a meal. But most places wont allow it.
