Virginia prefers to stay close to flowing bodies of water. That is why she always head down to the river. And that spot is far enough away she can’t hear enemies. To fix that, build base closer to large bodies of greasy water. I did the same mistake my first base. Built on the beach and she traveled far away. Second location next to a lake and rivers. Now she stays in the base.
Another thing to keep in mind, she will get braver the more battles she’s in, and will not flee like she did.
A handy tip. After you give Virginia a weapon. You can go back and get it again for yourself from the location you found it at.
Just have Kelvin collect arrows around your base after a big battle. He's very handy with that
TIP: Build seating for your friendly NPC's and they will often use them. Virginia may hang around the base more if you do so.
Day 3 of asking for you to put arrows and cloth together to make fire arrows
He's pretending to be a nube. You can finish the whole game in 20 minutes. Plus he likes the building mechanics. Backseat driver much? Lol 🤣

Kelvin can find all of your arrows after a battle just tell him to get arrows and bring them to you especially helpful if you use good ones.
IME he retrieves rock arrows regardless of the type you used
He also retrieves arrows not used by GE. According to him himself during one of the recent uploads

I've spent 60+ days in the hospital since June. And I came across this channel during that time and it's become a mainstay in my daily entertainment since. Love the content 🤘🤘
I built my little mini house down on the beach where Virginia seems to hang out and it helped the problem. I can have Kelvin fish for me from there too. As for logs ... I built the holders and told Kelvin to fill them then went up on the cliffs and chopped then threw the logs down to the beach where Kelvin picked them up ans stored them. It worked surprisingly well.
I am sure you are right about them attacking the first base you built because my first base was on the beach on the other side of the river ... and the enemies seem to hang around there more than they try and attack my base.
Virginia does like playing in the water. lol
@@cgamejewels It's a lot of fun learning about the AI characters. if you learn how they seem to work and try and work with them it makes it a lot of fun to have them around.
It's kind of like having small kids. You don't want to ignore them or stop them helping you ... but you have to understand their limitations and work with them.
You can reloot the pistol. Spike traps are effective if you put enough around your base.
THIS. I basically built a wall around the base, then along the outside of the wall i set a wall of spike traps to keep them from destroying my wall. Then, create a bottleneck entry with spikes so only kelvin and virginia can enter. I built my base on the edge of a cliff so i used the cliff edge to enter the base because they just go for the entry point.
The cat-dog, worm-like mutant is actually named John 2.0
The worm/wiener monster in the first game is named John. So they are semi related.
Instead of 3/4 logs, you can also use half logs. It makes the struts smaller, yet still as sturdy 😊
You probably need struts on the bottom floor as well, so you can get rid of some of the middle pillars.

You need to put up wall and traps.

She's working as intended. You just need to find out her intended part. Her AI programming isn't follow player, protect player. She has her own thing and it's your job to figure it out and work within her scope.

Yes you can remove a zip line just stand one one end and look just right it should give the line back as well so say you want to scale a mountain oh u can climb like a goat. Ps a game exploit take 1 log cut in half not split take the 2 and stack like a pole then your next log on top we'll be a flouting floor piece take out 2 half pieces and enjoy 😆 love your videos
I heard Virginia eats berries from planters, ive seen her eating at drying racks with cannibal parts. Some benches/chairs near fires also help. No1 best thing to keep her close is building next to a lake with a stream flowing in, she goes to wash a lot. Kelvin is also amazing at fishing when you are right on the water.
reloot the pistol and start looking for the compound bow and shot gun. also build a wooden palisade around your base but remember to cut the tops into spear like heads to keep the cannibals from jumping or climbing over. you can put wooden spikes in the ground and reinforce them with stones
You can build a zero-gravity house, you build a column, you remove all the lower floors and keep the top, then continue to build the upper part. Going down you take the gun and shoot the hook on the ground.😮

check on your map Virginia location, she knows where the good stuff is. in my case i notice she is making a gesture to follow her, so i did and she lead me to the stun baton. Later on i got also some clothes thx to her so maybe your Virginia did the same thing and you just did not notice she wants you to follow ? i also notice she is VERY hesitant to shot at mutants ( not the cannibals tho). mine only does when my life is directly threaten other wise she is just pointing at them and do nothing
There's an actual story in this game, and it explains _why_ Virginia is hesitant to shoot at mutants.

GE ziplines go a very long distance. Once you place the start of the line you can walk the other end a good distance away. You can re-loot any guns that you give to Virgina. This way you do not have to worry about where she is constantly.
That snake looking thing is an actual demon. If you picked up a cross, it should be next to ur lighter it burns 'em

Where did Virginia’s pretty dress go👗? She is back in her bathing suit. There are definitely some little glitches to be worked on slowly by the developers but they have done such a great job so far 😊🌟

The "cat/dog" name comes from the CatDog cartoon from the late 90's...main character being an animal with a cat head on one end, and a dog head on the other.
In this case, it's called John 2.0 (in reference to the John enemy from The Forest). It is also referred to as Worm 2.0, Mr Whippy, or The Slinky. I'm sure there's a couple of other names people have come up with.
Molotovs helps a lot against the human cat-dog thing.
He used it in the last vid but not in this one.

Cat dog was a cartoon show on Nickelodeon, that came out late 90’s through mid 2000’s (one of my favs.) it was a long stretched out body with one end being a cat & the other a dog. I loved dog, he was a simple fella, lol.

they where combined brothers, half cat, and half dog. loved that show as a kid!

I've learned that anything that drops creepy armor (blinds, McRibs, catdogs, etc) do NOT like cannibals. And vice versa
Because there's a story to the reason why. Most players don't go digging to find out why unfortunately.

Virginia needs to stay around the base , so she can protect the base and you .. maybe cover it around with a defense wall
It doesn't work that way. The player needs to learn what programming and mechanic the NPC's have and are capable of and work within that scope. Expecting the NPC to do exactly what you want, when you want, how you want, will only lead to you being frustrated and dissatisfied thinking the AI is broken when it's working as intended.

Little tip for the support beams, add a half log to the corner between the wall and ceiling, then you can pull the supports
I saw a tutorial vid today that said you can have 3 logs wide unsupported and then you need to add an angle for each subsequent log so that ultimately you can have 5 logs wide supported just at the ends by an angle bit. But I don't know if you can build higher on that to make a second floor and pointy roof. I haven't logged on to try it yet.

You can log easier if you put a zipline in front of log holders it puts them in for you. Base is looking great
A couple random things:
- There's a log duplication bug with the free-standing shelves. If you use two logs to build a shelf you'll end up with the same two logs in your hands and a half plank left over.
- There was also a log duplication bug with the log holders, but it may or may not still work. If you try to put two half-logs into a log holder it ejects two full logs without removing the half-logs from your grip. That may have been patched out though.
- Build a fortification wall around the bottom of any base structures, so hostiles will attack it before attacking the structure proper. This is especially important on taller/bigger structures as wiping out some supports can make a lot of the structure collapse. Just make sure you sharpen the tips of the logs into points so that the game interprets the vertical-post wall as a fortification and not as a structure.
I watched someone run through the entire campaign in a one-day stream. This game isn't very long story-wise, but I think, judging by the cut scenes, they're going to add more to it before the official release.

Friendly tip , On defense Do not underestimate the power of traps. I strongly suggest trying them out And let the traps do all the work For you sir.
Bird houses gives you feathers. Kelvin and virgina eats out of the small animal traps too. All you do is open it for them they will get it stuff out their self.
Perfect time to watch after work just got home and also great content you probably need to make some defensive building or traps for cannibal tribes :) also GameEdged my suggestion chop the one of cannibal tribe head and hold it and then if they shows up bring out the head and show it to them that might work to scare them off to go to your camp :)

1.Yes GE....you can pick up back the zipline by the hook and it'll go back to your inventory. dont shoot it too high tho
2. your Virginia is weird coz she doesnt stay close to you.. 😅
3. Use smaller struts to get more space in your cabin. i see u use 3/4 struts on your second floor. maybe use the 1/4 log for maximum space...just my 2 cents

You can ask Kelvin to get you arrows ….. might save you some time making them
to remove the logs from the bottom floor you need to put the support beams on the bottom floor like you have done with the top, that's the only way to do it,

When building the floor for the second story, you only need the logs on two sides opposite eachother, you don't need to make a square with 4 logs for the flooring to sit nicely, this way you have less logs above you on the bottom floor ☺️
Catdog was a cartoon show from when I was a kid. Its like the human centipede but with a cat and dog and if you sewed their rear ends together.

I wonder if the devs are going to implement any adverse affects to drinking too many energy drinks, like starting to not be able to sleep, and after a couple days starting to see hallucinations, or risks of just dropping dead, from a heart attack. Crosses my mind, every time I see your energy meter at full pink 😅

If your inventory is full of any one particular item that is inside one of the skin pouches, it won't let you open any of them. A lot of times, it's the medicine or oysters. But when you can't open a skin pouch, just think about the items that come inside of them and see if your inventory is full on those items.
GE I have heard some call that long stretchy thing as "Taffy Man". Laughing. I noticed another person playing this and after the hotkey update his base has been attacked repeatedly. Coincidence? TY for the video! It is always a joy.
FYI, if it isn't obvious by now, mutants and cannibals are enemies. The best strategy is when the mutants and cannibals are occupied attacking each other, you definitely don't want to start attacking the mutants and cause it start attacking you, and then leaving the cannibals to also attack you, or your base, or kelvin. The name of that really long flip flopping mutant is called John 2.0.
When Virginia gives u the thumbs up stick around see what she does next if she gives u a jester follow me follow her she can lead u to unique items and what not
What you really need is a gatling bow... The way the cannibal wives mourn over their dead husbands/ boyfriends adds a nice humorous touch.

After the update, had to reset up the tarp. That seemed to help Virginia stay around.

It gets me that he won't put down steps or a ramp on the backside considering you can pick them up later and won't go to waste. Otherwise loving the playthrough.

Don't feel too bad about arrows. You can make bird houses for feathers and resin respawns all the time so you can 3d print arrows anytime

i think you can use half log for corner brace instead of a 3/4 log.. you need to put side brace below to remove the beams below..
The rope gun line/zip line can be collected and reused.
How about building a fence around your base ? Even if it's just temporary. It will at least slow them down.
Might need to add logs to the base of your structure to provide more support and remove the logs in the middle of your base
Cat dog is an old TV show, you should also build some bird house for feathers.
The attacks seem relentless. As a lover of base building, I'd be experiencing constant stress. You handle it so well.
Hello GE, i think in the last episode you chopped your firewood stack with the ax, maybe try repairing it with the repair tool so you can stack more on it.
The crossbow is way better than the bow btw. And if you hold the left click button when using the axe you can do a deadly heavy attack. Timing it is cumbersome though lol. Keep it up GameEdged!
Issues? She likes being near water for washing, food and drink...And to escape enemies. You built too far from fresh water.
Very much enjoying this series and this game.
little did we know that Kelvin is the true hero of this story. his the silent knight. The protector who diverts the enemies away from his friends. he doesnt run or cover in fear. he only divert while Verginia frolic in the forest Kelvin stays silently carrying logs and always has his eyes towards the enemies. Kelvin is the multi man a beacon in dark times.
I have noticed that if Virginia gets knocked down by enemies sometimes the gun/clothes you give her will go back in your inventory i assume its a fail safe so if she dies you dont loose that stuff, so just go back to her and re give stuff sometimes that helps pull her back into your base, if she looses stuff back to you it kinda is like shes not a part of your base any more she then free roams. And I would stop building house for bit and start building wall/defenses, Yes you can remove zip lines by pressing C. Great fun GE

those warboys( everytime they remind me of Mad Max ) are evolving their tactics,they're adapting and getting more clever - they come now in larger numbers,some of them take time to destroy your base ,while others keep you busy -that's good AI (but not in your advantage - pay them with same "coin " ,with their own medicine) 😈 -also you noticed that big fella hanging his bro by neck in air ? he was showing you his rank -you need to keep up with them

If you just fill up on bone armor it only allows you to wear so much of it kinda like other games with different tiers of armor the lower tier armor won’t will your armor bar all the way up so you have to add other armor with it to max it out

I want to call the red-ones, ManBabys: what you call, Fingers, I'd call, McRibs; and since Virginia was already a class unto itself from the other game, I thought the lady in swimwear would be called Victoria per Victoria's Secret; one looks like a declawed, Rake; one looks like a human, CatDog; one's a male and female fused mid-coitus I'd call, Scissors.

After Kelvin died, it seems like Virginia pretty much always stays nearby/right next to me. And the raids on our bases are way too frequent. Can't barely get anything done.

Don't have any problems with Virginia like you're having. She's usually right around me at all times. I did have some difficulty with her passing through that area, though, so maybe bugged idk
I built a base at the beach and virginia hangs out by the river a lot too.
