I just love watching Wawa drive. She’s the perfect student. She’s always looking straight ahead, has her hands firmly on the steering wheel and listens to what Josh tells her to do. She isn’t one of those young drivers who thinks they know everything. I’m sure she’ll be a great and safe driver once she gets her full license. It’s so refreshing to see a young driver learn how to use a stick shift. So few people these days know how to drive with a manual transmission.
Congratulations wa your beetle looks awesome . You're are hard working an very respectful young woman you deserve everything that comes your way. Also alot of credit goes to mom and dad for raising 3 incredible children.
My sister's first car was a Volkswagen Beetle had a 1600 with an automatic she drove that thing everywhere and when she got married her husband got a hold of it and ran it into the ground
It's so nice to see a family doing things together ! Best partis seeing the kids active and enjoying it ,not being zombies in front of video games and glued to phones . Great job Mom and Dad !!!
Maybe you can repurpose the ashtrays built into the back-seat side panels into charging ports. You can hard-wire USB plugs into the bottoms of the ashtrays. The panel would hide all the wiring. When you open the ashtray, you can see the plug, and when you close the ashtray, all is hidden and it looks stock.

Cars are great, ur content is great, but ur right, the safety of your family comes 1st. Now that you've been anointed you're going to be all about that air-cooled life. Let me give you a few tips so you don't have to learn the hard way like I did. Get a carbon monoxide detector. Install tail pipes on your stock Muffler they serve a purpose if nothing else car will be quieter. That's not a tow hook it's a tie-down hook for when they bring Beatles to the USA on board ships. If you're feeling a draft on your feet could be your trunk lid gasket. Air gets into the trunk compartment and come through various holes in the dash. A good running 1600 will take you anywhere you want to go but a good running 1776 will actually keep up with traffic. Love what you're doing don't change a thing and keep it between the mustard and the mayonnaise.
Anytime a new air cooled Enthusiast tells me they're constantly messing with their carburetor I asked them when's the last time they adjusted their valves and retorque their heads?
Josh readjust the valves on the little bug. Then retime the engine.. also check voltage to distributator while running. Electronic ignition needs constant 12 volts. Hope this helps.
@@Sleeperdude And when you run out of things to do (lol!), you might wanna clearcoat those bumpers especially on the back sides to keep them from rusting. That was kinda standard procedure back in the day as repo bumpers were nowhere near the quality of the originals. And as always thanks again for the best channel on YT!
The beetle is coming along really good!!! Wawa should get to vote on a finish/paint option, natural patina, OEM color repaint or my favorite, a custom fade!!!
Watching wawa drive brings back so many memories. You doing great wawa. Always look all around you. My dad taught me to Always scan your mirrors too. Just a dad tip. Great work you all, and God bless you always.
Wawa is a very intelligent get up and go person. She has a great personality and will do great things in life. I know you are very proud of her as we all are. Can’t wait to see the future of you all.
😂 I have to admit Sleeperdude looks super on the creepy on that new shirt. They did however capture reverse mullet perfectly.🤪 The Volkswagen show looked like a good time, way to go Wawa!
Hooray! Wawa is hitting the streets and declaring 3rd gear as her happy place! Josh is a very patient teach, no surprise there! My dad instilled in me that its good to flick your eyes to the mirrors frequently so that you are aware of surroundings, especially when mom is driving on your tail! 😊 The bug show is the cutest thing ever! Some folks are incredibly talented and artistic. Seems like a very nice community.
The emergency brake will need two cables and that little metal piece goes on that nub and to adjust it you would tighten it there. Look into getting a different carb, try a progressive webber 2 barrel they run like 250 or so but get the kit definitely more reliable that that solex carb. Love the video so far will have to send you guys pics of my 74.
Am so proud of Wawa. And proud of you Josh, for patience and working with her to get that car sorted out. Now get her to learn body work and some paint on that will be a sweet cream puff. She's doing so well. Be proud of her. That car show will something ya'll will remember forever!
Nice restoring family! Im loving this VW stuff since my 1st car was a 64 black bug that came with a Hurst shifter, and a heavy duty race clutch. I added 68 high back bucket seats, oversized chrome exhaust tips (which deepened and loudened the tone...cheap too), and rear wheels got deep dish chrome and fat tires. Drove it few years, rebuilt the motor and sold it to a buddy, who sold it to another buddy. We loved that car!
And also, my Dad had many VW trucks and vans. Used them for our family and family supply business. The first 2 were blue 2 door pickups, followed by 2 vans. Then he switched to Ford Econoline with a 460 so he could pull a 28ft house trailer. Good Ole days!
I want to say well done Wawa for coping with being filmed whilst learning to drive. You should be very proud. Learning to drive on the road is hard enough. From Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 😊
This is Bob LD's other half. I remember being 15 and the first time I drove on the highway outside drivers training. I wasn't a big fan of the highway, especially curves. Of course I just had to pass someone and of course we were on a sweeping curve. Mom Dad and Sister in the car. I hit 80 going by the other car! Mom and sis were scared spitless, but didn't say anything. I think Dad was nerveous too, but he was cool like Josh, and kept quiet. Wa is doing an incredible job! For the record I soon got over my fear of the highway, but truthfully at 71 I still prefer back roads. Stay safe all. God Bless.
I am a VW expert I used to rebuild VW's in Germany when I was in the Army and I own one that is a 1973 Super Beetle. It has integrated in the rear floor behind the rear seat upper bar just in front of the stamped serial number a 1975 Porsche Turbo Carrera Engine and Transmission running gear and floor. and the car was built by a F-1 former European car racing company. I was sponsored by Aral, VW, Porsche and ESSO. It looks like a normal 73 Super Beetle but runs like a Jet on Steroids. It is a Twin Turbo with A/C. Back seat is almost nil and the car was widened in the rear below the glass to fit it all. When in my early years as a NASCAR Engine inspector before the Races I got to run it 10 laps on Talladega and on the 10th lap 203 mph which matched the Nurnberg Ring in Germany on top speed. It was my daily driver for years. I completed my contract while in the Army with my sponsors. Herbie 2 is still in the Garage and is my shopping cart. Car is one of a kind. Top Rpm based on the spec's is 8900 but you cannot burn rubber or it will crush the clutch and you then have to do a complete disassembly and very expensive. Whole car was modified to the max for safety. It has a growl and sounds like a Formula one when you take off. Best 1/4 mile without burning rubber was 8.9 at 152 and still climbing. I beat the Little Red Wagon and some other famous racers in my day. It was in several magazines in Europe and USA. The car runs on Airplane gas 100LL or 92 or 93 Octane with an additive. I used to drive it to the Track and Home no trailer. I have put about 70,000 miles on it over the years and I use Slick 50 since it came out and Pennzoil 30 HD. Car is in Great shape. One thing I can tell you about your VW is you need to Clean the oil Cooler or replace it since debris fill up the cooling coils over time. That is just for safety. Sorry for the long story but a true one. Serial number if the car is 1332921268. I made it from Fort Hood once with the Wife and 2 Kittys in 3 hours and 10 minutes which included 3 stops for gas to Shreveport. I scared my wife who is German to death. No idea why I did that. I did install a parachute on the rear or safety about 15 years ago. Never used it YET. Not kidding you here. There are faster VWs out there now but I have a Gem. OLD TIMER like Me. Good video, Thank you and by my House there are 2 Dollar Gentrals within 2 miles of each other. Red Neck Country. BTW I paid $3000.00 for those 10 Laps at Talladega. Car does not meet the safety regulations now for any racing but it does have a built in Steel Roll Cage.
A rich wealthy rich girl had a bug.w Porsche everything. Fast as you no what. Dad had it done cause no bug engine avail. She got what she wants. My friend is all. Took driver test in it. Yellow bug. Ate vetts for breakfast
All our son wanted for Christmas on his 15th birthday was his birth certificate and Driver's Ed. (Our school didn't offer drivers education anymore, so he had to be enrolled in a private company.) He got his wish. And we told him that, when he got his permit, we were going to put him behind the wheel and let him drive until he was sick of it! So, the Sat. morning he passed his course, we had him drive us home to our west-central Indiana home, threw some clothes in a suitcase and headed for Pensacola, Florida! He made it almost to Birmingham, Al. before he surrendered the wheel! He still remembers this as will your daughter will always remember when you had her drive to her first car show. Great job. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I will never come to your house but your church popped up and I looked at the website. I can’t imagine how I would react if strangers showed up where I live with my kids. Sorry you’re having to deal with this.
Thanks for taking us alone to the show. You’d live the VW events in the UK and Europe. PS: Sorry to hear that you guys are having your privacy invaded. That’s not cool.
I really respect how you guys stay true to who you are rather than pretending you're into something you're not. Great to see some VW content on your channel. I could tell you weren't super comfortable at the show but you went anyway to support your daughter. You're a great dad.
Would be amazing to repaint the beetle and get clear corner markets and get window tint just to freshen it up and turn it into a show build it would be amazing for both of them to have beetles so it gives wa and Marge something to look forward to and try to get squeeze a beetle since she approved of Wawa’s 😂😂 also edit , needs a short throw shifter so it’s easier on her

Awesome thank you good tips
Anytime a new air cooled Enthusiast tells me they're constantly messing with their carburetor I asked them when's the last time they adjusted their valves and retorque their heads?
15 is when I started, 71 now.
I never cease to be amazed at how much all the family get involved. The way Wawa is really working on her new car. Really impressive!
Ok dad, I think she's ready for a Hurst shifter now‼️
She drove like she was in an Oldsmobile 442
💪🏼🤟🏼😎
Josh readjust the valves on the little bug. Then retime the engine.. also check voltage to distributator while running. Electronic ignition needs constant 12 volts. Hope this helps.
Ok thanks
@@Sleeperdude And when you run out of things to do (lol!), you might wanna clearcoat those bumpers especially on the back sides to keep them from rusting. That was kinda standard procedure back in the day as repo bumpers were nowhere near the quality of the originals.
And as always thanks again for the best channel on YT!
The beetle is coming along really good!!! Wawa should get to vote on a finish/paint option, natural patina, OEM color repaint or my favorite, a custom fade!!!
👍👍
Was gonna say: an off-white or cream on the sides would really make it a classic/looker, hey!
Maybe a one of a kind Squeezy airbrush paint job? 🤔
Seeing all the bugs reminded me of growing up with everyone in the family having one.
Yes cool little rides
Watching wawa drive brings back so many memories. You doing great wawa. Always look all around you. My dad taught me to Always scan your mirrors too. Just a dad tip. Great work you all, and God bless you always.
Little Bug is coming along very Nicely ☺️
Thanks again for the Great content 😊
Thank you
Wawa is a very intelligent get up and go person. She has a great personality and will do great things in life. I know you are very proud of her as we all are. Can’t wait to see the future of you all.
Yes thank you
😂 I have to admit Sleeperdude looks super on the creepy on that new shirt. They did however capture reverse mullet perfectly.🤪 The Volkswagen show looked like a good time, way to go Wawa!
Wa is really happy! She owns HER car.
For your Daughter you may want to put a loop on the top of the accelerator pedal so she can pull it back just till you get that throttle sorted
thank you for bug outing, enjoyed the show, love the family vib, peace and god bless you guys.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you
So, Mr. Dentpuller is "Freakin' you out"? That's hilarious!
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you
That is the perfect car for Wawa, she will have a blast in that thing.
Excellent video Family safety first always ……
Wow that jaws of life straightening tool is awesome 👍 and the WAWA Eye 👀 Brow lifts Hilarious 😂
Yes it’s very handy
@@Sleeperdude It definitely looks like it 👍
The emergency brake will need two cables and that little metal piece goes on that nub and to adjust it you would tighten it there. Look into getting a different carb, try a progressive webber 2 barrel they run like 250 or so but get the kit definitely more reliable that that solex carb. Love the video so far will have to send you guys pics of my 74.
Ok thanks
It's about time WA's Bug gets tricked out. Woooo!
Yes!!
Wah wahs volkwagon though looking awesome can’t wait for next upload
Thank you
And also, my Dad had many VW trucks and vans. Used them for our family and family supply business. The first 2 were blue 2 door pickups, followed by 2 vans. Then he switched to Ford Econoline with a 460 so he could pull a 28ft house trailer. Good Ole days!
Am so proud of you WA WA. You are a blessed young lady to have a great family. Blessings from Texas.
Thank you 😊
Woohoo another family video, I love ut. Good luck working on Wawa's first car! 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you
You're welcome
And Wawa and Ralphie impress me every episode!
I want to say well done Wawa for coping with being filmed whilst learning to drive. You should be very proud. Learning to drive on the road is hard enough. From Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 😊
My first 3 used cars were air cooled 1959s: Bug, 356a, Panel Van. Good luck at the show Wawa.
God Bless.
Yes thank you
I am a VW expert I used to rebuild VW's in Germany when I was in the Army and I own one that is a 1973 Super Beetle.
NICE!
I enjoyed your story, reno, that's awesome. And I bet that is one SWEET '73!! 👌👌
Nice story! I bet that is a blast to drive. You should do a video on it and post it to keep it alive.
Love it. Really ❤️ Porsche is my fave of all fave of all you get it. Never yet got the 85 Targa. Love anything German except men. God bless you
A rich wealthy rich girl had a bug.w Porsche everything. Fast as you no what. Dad had it done cause no bug engine avail. She got what she wants. My friend is all. Took driver test in it. Yellow bug. Ate vetts for breakfast
Brings my back to my old 67 vw bus.
Thank you
I think I would try to meet you at your church if not at an event
I think the front of the car looked Sooooo..... much better without the fog lamps !
Ok thanks
@@Sleeperdude While you washed the car....is the Frunk actually closed /sealed?
Squeezie has style🎉 ❤️
Great VW meet.
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for taking us alone to the show. You’d live the VW events in the UK and Europe.
PS: Sorry to hear that you guys are having your privacy invaded. That’s not cool.
I really respect how you guys stay true to who you are rather than pretending you're into something you're not. Great to see some VW content on your channel. I could tell you weren't super comfortable at the show but you went anyway to support your daughter. You're a great dad.
Would be amazing to repaint the beetle and get clear corner markets and get window tint just to freshen it up and turn it into a show build it would be amazing for both of them to have beetles so it gives wa and Marge something to look forward to and try to get squeeze a beetle since she approved of Wawa’s 😂😂 also edit , needs a short throw shifter so it’s easier on her
Love that car . Y'all got this. God bless you all.
Thank you
Ur welcome and a get a trophy
Respect for this great family!!!
Nothing makes me happier than helping or watching someone drive stick 👍🏻💪🏻… the girl is doing awesome
