NO WORD.. just pray for people who play -to play that more often and even faster and for those that can't play like this - to listen to the voice of angels... I could listen this tune forever :D
I really enjoy the way this video seems to flow. And the guy saying the "hup, hup, hup, hey!" just before the tune change always seems to make it a part of the song. Just wonderful! I wish I could play the fiddle as well as Heath, especially on the Tam Lin reel.
This Heath guy is quite the awesome fiddle and bagpipe player. I hope you guys keep going for years to come. A good farewell from New-Brunswick, Canada.
great tunes from a brilliant band. ive got the cds and tape and they are all good. got the t shirt as well. hope you post more and thanx Joe for your emails.keep up the good work.
@ajaxfan34 the band is Slainte, and if you go to there web page you will find the cds and a tape, i bought them and they are brilliant. and other stuff as well good luck , Ray
Being Welch origins, hell with the negatives. Your music somehow hits your soul. It's absolutely AWSOME! Don't care where you're from. You absolutely captured the Celtic Spirit. The Negatives just don't understand. Thank you for your great music.
This was totally awesome. Actually I like the "Hups & Heys" it gives the song a live character like you're in there dancing your ass off to this wonderful music.
Playing both violin and bagpipe. I WANT THAT TOO! ;-; I had to choose between the two and started playing bagpipe some months ago. This is so very friggin' awesome. I love it. :'D
Sounds more like Cape Breton style than the contemporary stuff from Scotland and Ireland. The band is good and hopefully will stay together long enough to become real tight. All the best to Slainte.
There's this girl I know who plays part of this on her Violin. I believe what she plays is called Tamlinn, or something of that sort. You guys are amazing!!!
No complaints at all from me. I think this performance is spot on. You've got great energy going and, if it is rough, I'm not seeing it. But then I tend to like live performances. Good job!
Is this the Tam Lin Reel? It sounds very like that that's played by Steeleye Span at the end of The Old Maid In The Garrett on their Time album. And I thought they played it fast. This is awesome!
It's called Tamlin's reel or the Glasgow reel, which is a traditional celtic tune that was written decades before there was ever such a thing as question period...der!
Hey nice work. The first song was indeed Tam Lin (or Tam Lyn) this is such a different version than the one I play! I recognized it in the first 3 seconds. There was some kind of break, then the second was High Road to Linton, finally returning to Tam Lin. The fiddle was a little off tune, especially on High Road to Linton--I'm sympathetic; it's hard to play fast for very long like that.
go to slainte web page where you can buy the cds, and cassette. i did and they are great. i only found them on YT. thanks for the great music Mark. Ray
I love this piece! Question and please excuse my ignorance: What is the propose for the bucket the bodrahn player has her foot on? Is it to allow her to support the drum or does it have a propose in the music?
@KeltiKyrie Thank you - that's it exactly. I'm guessing the people who complain are used to studio-produced CDs where everything can be refined. This is a live performance and (of course) quite rough for that. Glad you see that - other people seem to miss the point completely.
the band are called slainte. check out the info about this video. and look up the web site. i did and bought 2 cds and a tape which are very good. well worth a listen. and ive got the t-shirt. 5 stars from me. Ray
don't worry Mark you're in my top 20 youtubes of all times - unfortunately the thumb can go up only once and liking/disliking didn't get much wanted effect of eternal affection that I wish you with all my heart - al I can say: MORE fiddle and bagpipes :D
My 3yr old, Never tires of this song! You guys are AWESOME!
This Heath bloke is fantastic! Cheers from the land down under!
YES! I found it ^^ The last time I listened to this was years ago.
NO WORD.. just pray for people who play -to play that more often and even faster and for those that can't play like this - to listen to the voice of angels... I could listen this tune forever :D
the fiddler is extremely talented. Bagpipes AND fiddle, and so well!
Guy playing the fiddle knows the best two instruments EVER! Fiddle and bagpipes, awesome.
I really enjoy the way this video seems to flow. And the guy saying the "hup, hup, hup, hey!" just before the tune change always seems to make it a part of the song. Just wonderful! I wish I could play the fiddle as well as Heath, especially on the Tam Lin reel.
This is awesome. I can see this is the roots of American bluegrass. I can imagine my kinfolk playing such music generations ago.
My two year old son LOVES this! Awesome!!!
amazing song, so passionate and celtic, the violinist is out of this world good
This Heath guy is quite the awesome fiddle and bagpipe player. I hope you guys keep going for years to come.
A good farewell from New-Brunswick, Canada.
Please do more "wild" pieces - they really get me energized!!
This is just pure awesomeness. I wish this tune never stopped playing :3

wonderful... some happiness in this cloudy snowy day!
This was totally awesome. Actually I like the "Hups & Heys" it gives the song a live character like you're in there dancing your ass off to this wonderful music.
It's sad this videos haven't got more views, because this music is truly fantastic.

This is the greatest piece of music I have heard in years. Heath should release an instructional video, I just might take up fiddlin myself if he did.

Aww, lots of critical comments here. Well they'd be welcome at my parties any day. I really enjoyed it.
It's called Tamlin's reel or the Glasgow reel, which is a traditional celtic tune that was written decades before there was ever such a thing as question period...der!
You made me happy.
As in, happy for the rest of the week at least.

One of the other parts is a reel called Jenny's gone to Linton, although it's also known as Domhnall Beag an t-siuchair.
Even in Holland....this music is so great, grand and good! Were can i buy cd from you guys?
