Watched alot of videos of guys painting cars, and this guy is the first to do the flick when going over the next panel, very old school trick, same way I was taught, many moons ago, brilliant paint job to complement an excellent repair
I don't comment much, but wanted to say this content showing HOW things are actually done makes your best videos. Thanks to Chris and Vas for openly sharing this stuff, and Rob for pulling it together.
And this is why I rate this channel so highly, always showing professionals both inside the Salvage Rebuilds UK workshop and out of it. It's a privilege to watch you all carry out your individual crafts.
Hello Rob and Chris, the BMW looks like new. It must be the way you treat people, as everyone you meet is so helpful and professional. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
excellent video as always, and yes i do love to see painting probably boring to some but as an ex panel beater and paint prepper im always watching vids to improve on my own projects
And Rob for the dash and airbag kits he fits then taking for the mots steering geometry checks finding the cars picking them up going for parts that's what makes the channel good they all have there rolls that they are good at
It was enjoyable to watch but I still know that without the prep work Chris did it would not have been half as good. It is the the prep work that makes the rest possible IMO :)
Seem to remember it needed a service too, please take it to BMW for that main dealer history continuity so it finishes off the highest quality rebuild ever, loving this series, thank you 🙏
I used to mix and paint 2 pack before all the health and safety became an issue and the later switch to water based paints. Reason I now have lung disease as it was a dangerous occupation we knew nothing about back then. Great vlog and for many I'm sure a learning curve , not just for the art but for how far we've advanced with technology and health care 👍
Yes things advanced so much. I remember having paint on my mk 2 escort in mid 80s. Really professional work but sadly no real protection for the paint spraying. The guy passed away still young and I remember being very shocked and sad. I send you my best.🙏💙
I don’t leave many comments on videos but I had to on this one. What an epic behind the scenes insight this was. Fantastic and hope to see more of this sort of thing in the future. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Criss did a fantastic job on that rear arch and After his 30grand reaction was priceless 🤣😂again gentlemen a fantastic video,,, By the the salvage rebuilds,,👌😎
Top paintwork like that is an artform, won't be cheap but you pay for experience and skill. Any monkey can slap paint on but that is top top quality by a man who seriously knows his craft. Great video.
Really interesting, Rob!! Can’t help wondering how new colours are decided. Who adds 4 drips of this, 77 drips of that and… who can tell the difference???
Excellent video. Watching the paint work, and the wheels being refurbished was very interesting. I prefer watching you and Chris work, Rob, but, it is still nice to see some of the "third party" processes as well. That car will be a money maker!
That was one of your most interesting videos. Vas is a master of his trade, that finish looks to be as good if not better than factory. You simply could not tell that the car had been painted.
Chris and Rob are on top of there game. But when you put yourself out there on RUclips someone will have a dig about your work jealous comes in all shapes and forms.
Loved seeing the paint work Rob, would be lovely to see more of that process in the future, keep up the good work mate! Been following the journey on here since day 1, 💯 10/10 👌🏼❤️😎
Hi Rob&Chris , (captain fantastic) , what you have done with this car , especially, those dents chris is , without doubt, fantastic !! As you & the painter said , cannot tell it has had a litter knock !! On the rear quater .... yes , again agree to see a bit more ,of the job's behind the scenes , isgood too .. well done all concerned , with this car ....looks great ... well done ... 😊
Gotta say im with Rob and amazed at the colours that go into getting the final colour, what a fantastic man vas is and someone who knows his stuff and good to see people like him and Chris are still around, the diamond cutting on the wheels is fascinating aswell,a massive thankyou to vas for allowing you to film for us aswell👏👏awesome 👍
Even though that paint work is blinding the job Chris done on that body work was masterful got to get that bang on before making it pretty. Nice one lads look forward to the completion 👍🏻
Hi Rob and Chris brilliant video loved the process of mixing the paint I never thought there would be so many different colours used and loved watching the wheels being refurbished love the see more of this keep up with your brilliant work and videos Bernard
Looks great, I have to admit I was surprised that the door mirror was not removed to allow better access to painting the panel and thus paint continuity during the spraying process
Yes as everyone else is saying this is the best RUclips channel and the spray job was mint can't wait for the numbers on this get your calculater ready lads cheers
Mixing them paint reminds me when I was in the curtain trade. My boss used to make me copy McKinneys paint finishes on curtain poles and finials. They where pricey AF. Not that I got any bonus out of it. Me and the materials where a tenth of the cost of originals.
Hi Rob . It never ceases to amaze me .....painters who don't wear the hoods , l always did , or use a full face mask . I 'm fully aware that Vas did wear his full face . Personally l would have left the wing on the car to guarantee colour match . And that is a very small booth. However , there's no denying Vas ' skill . And l was surprised at the volume of silver for a colour that on camera looked a monochrome but no surprise for the many colours required to make a colour . For me , pound for pound , the reconditioning of the wheels was the most impressive operation . If we had an insurance repair it was standard practise to cut out the side window and scrape moulding to ensure no paint edge . Not a criticism , just the demands of the insurance companies . Thanks Rob .
glad it finally going to paint the final stages coming together. seeing the paint being mixed you can see how the colour is made up and now you get a sense of why to paint a car is so expensive. very interesting to watch vas has a very steady hand to do that. great video
Vas is a paint artist. Work like that (and what Chris does) can be learnt but never, ever rushed. He has learnt his art exceedingly well.
Really

VAS YOU DID AMAZING!! WHY IS EVERYONE HATING ON SALVAGE CARS??

Hello Rob and Chris, the BMW looks like new. It must be the way you treat people, as everyone you meet is so helpful and professional.
Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
The sprayers action parallel to the body panels was superb. It shows how professional and truly experienced he is! Well done that man!
I’m decidedly average when it comes to painting a car.
I always enjoy watching an experienced painter do their job.
That is a painter that knows his trade, awesome work. I'm feeling like one of you might be keeping this car for a while!
It might need a long "test drive".
What a great job and what a car.👍
I thought that those wheels looked lovely all black until they got cut and then they looked amazing!
Wow , that’s some serious workmanship, stunning finish , love seeing how the wheels are cut
Wow, I never knew that all those different paint colours were required. Brilliant seeing that 👍👍
excellent video as always, and yes i do love to see painting probably boring to some but as an ex panel beater and paint prepper im always watching vids to improve on my own projects
True artisans, Chris, Vax and the wheel guys, good to see these quality people at work!
Yes, all fantastc craftsman Rob too.
And Rob for the dash and airbag kits he fits then taking for the mots steering geometry checks finding the cars picking them up going for parts that's what makes the channel good they all have there rolls that they are good at
Vast is a magician , lovely car worth spending the money
It was enjoyable to watch but I still know that without the prep work Chris did it would not have been half as good. It is the the prep work that makes the rest possible IMO :)
Great to see a skilled person plying their trade.
Chris' tin work is amazing.
Fantastic stuff Rob, Chris and Vas. Enjoyed seeing the paintwork being done.
Good God!!!! That was an amazing episode...Never knew so much goes into a simple color like that...and the refurbed wheels...Great watch...
Seem to remember it needed a service too, please take it to BMW for that main dealer history continuity so it finishes off the highest quality rebuild ever, loving this series, thank you 🙏

That paint job was amazing
Loved seeing the wheels being refurbished as well as Vas mixing and spraying the paint. Some great skills.

Brilliant video Rob !
Really interesting, Rob!!
Can’t help wondering how new colours are decided. Who adds 4 drips of this, 77 drips of that and… who can tell the difference???
It would be interesting to see the different spray out tests side by side without those few drips.
Excellent video. Watching the paint work, and the wheels being refurbished was very interesting. I prefer watching you and Chris work, Rob, but, it is still nice to see some of the "third party" processes as well. That car will be a money maker!

Wow, that colour match is so precise and perfect.
It’s a work of art.
Used to do paint started painting as Fred in a shed. Hard times used to have to really flat and polish to get the dust out. He’s done a fantastic job
Mixing them paint reminds me when I was in the curtain trade. My boss used to make me copy McKinneys paint finishes on curtain poles and finials. They where pricey AF. Not that I got any bonus out of it. Me and the materials where a tenth of the cost of originals.
What a great video Rob what an art mixing that paint and what a brilliant job 👌

The weather strip was raised up he wasn’t wearing a hood to do the water based base coat but he had a full air fed on for the lacquer
@@sruk Thanks Rob . I mentioned you said Vas wore his full face . As l said , not a criticism , just an observance .
