I've used ambunu for about one month now, and like you, I absolutely love the slip. I tried it with the leaves and they combed out easily, but left a mess in the shower... the last couple of times I strained like you. I also mixed mine with fenugreek, moringa leaves & slippery elm for extra slip. I took the gooey mixture and used as a stand alone conditioner/detangler and I also added some of it to my leave ins. LOVE IT!
Omg! Just made this blend today and my hair and scalp feels amazing. This has to be my favourite. I thought the Oat and Aloe deep conditioner was great, but oh no! This is top of my list! 💯
the results looks insane Mich. Come thru slippage and moisture. Would love love a series on Chebe Power. I've seen vids on it but still not sold on it. Am eagerly waiting on your Chebe Tip Tuesday 😀
I haven't infused the Chebe I bought in oil yet, but I did infuse it in aloe juice and Ambunu. I was not impressed with the Chebe (smells very smoky) and I didn't notice it doing anything special for my hair. I'm low porosity and it actually beaded up on my hair as I was applying it. 😯 Crazy weird! I had to really work it into my hair. ☺😄 But I really like the Ambunu. Caught a sale and ordered more because I have plans for it . . . muwaaaahh! It brings out the mad scientist in me. 😄😎😍
I'm going to be trying this deep conditioner out on my next wash day.💚💛♥️🖤🤗 After my Henna/indigo treatment. You know sis that's an all day process lol😂
Your hair is breaking off as fast as its growing. Take collagen supplements, make sure your iron & zinc levels are good which can cause hair to break off. Drink water daily, massage your scalp, Don't under or over moisturize your hair. Wear protective hairstyles that aren't too tight but limits hair fall. Sleep on satin pillowcases only, cotton causes hair to dry out & break. Castor oil mixed with rosemary,Peppermint & tea tree essential oils is your best friends unless your allergic! Lol. Deep condition eith neem powder & green tea this is going to cut back on hairfall. 😘😘😘
@@NowIAmNappy I wash my hair twice in a month, deep condition every wash day with heat, do a henna or protein treatment once a will, moisturize my hair 4-5 times a week. I don’t use heat styling tools at all, my hair is mostly in a protective style.
Love it, looks so moisturizing. Can Optiphen be used in the water phase also as I dont have the other product. And if I'm using btms 25 how much should I use.
So It can be added to the water phase, but then you need to make sure your water does not heat above 75° otherwise you can destroy the preservative. Then there is the optiphen to add it to the water phase after you have heated the ingredients to make sure it’s not overheated. For the BTMS 225, I would double the amount
Definitely do a skin patch test. I was ok, but after applying the Chebe to just my hair, the twists that touched my scalp were a little irritated but nothing serious. After a while it didn't bother me, so maybe there is an immunity build up? This was an aloe juice infusion, not oil. HTH 🙂
@@jackywairegi2316 Right, that's what I wrote, I applied it to my hair but whatever is on your hair will touch your scalp especially if you put on a scarf, cap or headwrap. Hope that clarifies things. God richly bless you and have a great day! So beautiful outside! 🙂
Hello, I have been practicing making my products, and the preservative usage rate and how to correctly calculate has always been a concern for me to get it right. What calculation do you use?
Where are you purchasing your preservatives from? They should come with an SDS form, sometimes on the website, of what percentage to use. The optiphen plus I use at 1% of the mixture, the Geogard Ultra you can use at .75% to 2% of your mixture
Its ok, not everything will work for everyone and fenugreek does have something strengthening properties. I'm curious of you tried hydrating it like this before? Also if you want to try this recipe just skip out on the fenugreek and increase the aloe or ambunu water.
It does make my hair hard but it feels really strong afterwards..i add more aloevera gel(fresh one) and it makes all the difference!alternatively you can add a moisturizing deep conditioner in your fenugreek paste or powder!
@@NowIAmNappy thank you. Might just end up getting from Amazon.com cos I really want to try all this amazing recipe you have created using the Ambunu leaves
Nice video but base on the about of preservatives used how long does this preservation the conditioner .Also if I was to preserve it for 6month or year how much preservatives are needed.
So unfortunately this is going to require some testing. Each preservative i'm using has a shelf life of one year. But when you use all natural products bacteria can still grow quickly. The best thing I can recommend is to keep the product and test if yourself or send it to a lab to see how long it can last. That's why whenever I formulate my deep conditioners for selling I purchase extracts from suppliers that know how to preserve properly. These DIYs I'm creating will last a few months if preserved properly however, the true test will come with time.
I really like your videos but I noticed you always give the measurement for the ingredients according to a scale. Can you give the measurements by a measuring spoon/cup also for those of us who don't have a scale. Thanks
Hi Claudia not sure if you succeeded in purchasing your preservative, but the one I use here in the U.K. I purchase from Naissance, it’s Preservative Eco (N° 829) and it works perfectly well. I’ve been using it with NIAN’s hair recipes. I googled beforehand what was the equivalent to the optiphen plus here in the U.K. and that’s what came up. Hope this helps.
No, citric acid is not a preservative and could mess up the ph of your product and cause skin irritation. If you don't want to use a preservative, just make small batches to last for a week refrigerated. Also, double bag the container the product is in to keep bacteria and mold from possibly contaminating your product. You can probably use any oil you want to use that works for you. Just remember that if you sub out a much thinner or thicker oil or butter the consistency of the product may change also. HTH 🙂
Thank you for this video. Is there an all natural preservative that can be used? I am going to make this right now for my hair without the Geogard Ultra and just make sufficient to last for one use. We have to be very careful with Geogard Ultra because it contains sodium benzoate and sodium benzoate produces a carcinogen called benzene. Benzene has been linked to an increased risk of cancer, according to the FDA. (a carcinogen is a substance capable of causing cancer) Don't get me wrong, NowIamNappy. I enjoy all of your videos and would like for you to be around a long time to continue providing us with all of the good tutorials; that's my reason for pointing this out to you. So, please don't think I am trying to bash you. Honey, it defeats the purpose of making an all natural conditioner or shampoo, etc and including an unnatural ingredients that can cause health problems. I have seen many tutorials showing how to make natural products but they add harmful additives such as preservatives. Thanks again for this video.. Cheers!
I know this was commented a long time ago but just in case anyone sees this and gets scared of the ingredient. Geogard ultra is considered a natural broad spectrum preservative. And there is a possibility that it will create benzene ONLY IF it is combined with ascorbic acid/ vitamin c. It doesn’t do it on its own. It’s honestly a safe ingredient when used the way it’s intended to be used. As long as your formula doesn’t contain ascorbic acid it’s perfectly fine.
@@NowIAmNappy I would definitely be ordering. I'm trying to go more towards the Ayurvedic method but I'm lazy. Maybe when I retire next year. BTW I love your videos!

Hey hun, question what about if I don’t have these preservatives the geogard Ultra and the optiphen plus what can I use instead ?
Would it be able to work with just this one Phenoxyethanol Preservative ?
Can you use any preservative? I have Germaben II
Yep that works!!
